• New Overhead Press PR in the Bag

After 5 full days of rest from weight training, I smashed a large instant coffee, some Monster and got myself to the gym to test my overhead press strength.

I had been following the 'Dreadnought' program structure, which I've done a few blocks of in my past, and it was a lot of fun.

My previous best was about 73kg / 161lbs, a year ago and at a lighter bodyweight - as I'm heavier now I aimed for 75-80kg.

Warming-up I felt strong, especially as I had to wait a while for the equipment to be free which made me feel like a caged animal due to the excessive caffeine intake.

I believed 75kg would be 'easy' and it somewhat was - giving me room to shoot for something higher still.

I took out my cute little 0.25kg micro plates and added another kilo to the bar to bring me to 76kg - also bagged.

77.5kg was going to be a grind, especially considering the max intensity work I had already done - regardless I gave it two attempts and both were fails.

I think I'll be trying pin presses for the first time in my following training to try and get stronger at the sticking point at my forehead.

Nonetheless, super happy with an outright OHP personal record almost a year since my last one and looking forward to starting another block - aiming for that big eight-zero.

76kg / 167.5lbs @ 99.5kg / 219.5lbs bodyweight.

It's time for some epic Norwegian cycling adventures!

After (temporarily?) moving to Norway in January, I felt like I wanted to get out of the city and explore the local area around Oslo. I was trying to think of an interesting theme for a long ride that would test my physical and mental stamina but also interact with unique aspects of the geography of the area. The idea to follow the coastline of the fjord popped into my mind rather quickly and that was that. The next morning I would set off and hopefully finish within 24 hours. I wasn't too sure what to expect from the weather, the availability of food & drinks supplies or the actual difficulty of the course - but that's all part of the adventure, right?

Is it possible to make £1000 in a week with UberEats & Stuart on a bicycle?
📷 INSTA: http://instagram.com/josephxkendrick

I've done 24 hours straight of UberEats deliveries. I've done 25 hours straight of UberEats deliveries. So now it's time to give myself an earnings target. I decided £1,000 in a week would be a really decent goal to aim for. It'll force me to push myself for the whole seven days but I think it is also achievable with enough luck - it also just sounds good. I will be using both UberEats and Stuart delivery apps with no set limits for each day for earnings or time online. I will reject jobs if I don't like the order or restaurant or I just feel tired. Will this be possible in London? Let's find out...

It was exactly one year since I completed my 10,000 mile / 16,000km solo, unsupported, fixed gear loop of Australia so I decided I'd come up with a special way to celebrate. I had the idea to find the names of all the major cities I rode through as street names in England and connect them, in order, as a loop. After a short while tinkering on Google Maps, I found a route which was a nice challenging distance for a single ride. Will I make it around in under 24 hours?

We continue our failed bikepacking in Norway by hiking to one of the most Instagrammed spots in the country. It's quite a long trail to the rock but there is ample opportunity for polar plunges to refresh yourself.

Our failed Scandinavian bikepacking trip continues! On our Norwegian travels we come across Vettifossen - the tallest single-drop waterfall in Europe - and then drive through the longest road tunnel in the world - Lærdal Tunnel - on the way to our next sleeping spot. Hiking every day, a lot of rain and wildcamping in the car every night is kicking up a stink but the DOMS is taking our mind off of it for now. We'll be getting ready to fire-up the Instagram account for the hike to Trolltunga in the next episode in this series.
