this is kind of a love letter to Doctor Lalve and the Super Pro series. The idea came to me around 30 minutes after going to sleep one night and somehow stuck around long enough to make it into a video.
The whole thing started with me trying to figure out how to use Reaper and getting into music production, some of the fruits of that have made it onto my second channel, @platyple. There's also the SFM animations which i suppose is the benefit of having used to make thumbnails with that piece of garbage... lil tip for linux users: don't bother with any proton version above 4.

welcome back to my annual scream fortress+smissmas video, this year with even less time to play the game.
i'm more or less moved in to my new place now, it was quite a painful experience while also working full time in a new workplace in a new city with people who aren't exactly your friends but here we are.
besides that this also marks the first time i wrote a video using a spreadsheet. i had a more or less finished video a month ago, problem was it sucked. scooting around clips didn't help so i ended up writing down every single clip that i had into a spreadsheet, pasting them together in a way that made sense to me and then recreating that in vegas. it took some more fudging after that (who would've thought something that works on paper doesn't work in reality) but i eventually arrived at this. still not entirely happy with it but if i wanted to make it perfect i'd have to actually be funny

this is a new game right

this is the first proper video i made on my new editing pc, i decided to start with a clean slate on this one instead of carrying over a 3 year old install of windows. i'm not entirely sure if i like the new fonts i used for subtitles, i might go back to some of the old ones.
i experimented with alot of mixing techniques for this one, if you listen closely you'll hear the sound effects and voices sound slightly different depending on the map.

don't get me wrong, i encountered alot of bugs, but i wanted to focus more on the parts of this game that i actually enjoyed. anyways, enjoy a wall of text:

when i started recording this video, i wanted to go all-in on this. new keyboard, new microphone, new way of making content, it was gonna be the best video i ever made. boy how that backfired...
the way i recorded this changed five times throughout my playthrough and recording took over a month, so my mentality and recordings were all over the place. that's hardly ideal if you're aiming for consistency or even a semblance of good pacing. i had to throw out a good three days of preparing a jazz piece by gyari to act as a dynamic soundtrack because it just didn't work, not to mention about 500 clips that are still sitting spread out on my timeline for similar reasons.
i don't know if i should feel disappointed because this thing doesn't live up to the two months i spent on it or relieved that i can finally move on to other things, guess i'll find out at some point.
