The video summarizes the evidence for man made and naturally occurring climate change. Some of the data discussed include the facts that:

C02 levels have increased by around 50% since the 1950s.
Carbon Dioxide is 0.04% of Earth’s atmosphere.
Natural disasters have not increased in recent years.
Lack of C02 is a limiting factor in plant growth.
Global average surface temperatures may have increased by around 0.6 C (1.2 F) since 1880. Many measurements are uncertain.
Computer models predict further temperature increases in the future, but the models have been unreliable to date.

In this video I discuss the large variety of inflation measurements currently in use in the USA as well as historical measurements of inflation. A brief history of the gold standard is covered followed by a review of recent increases in the various measurements of the money supply in the USA (Monetary Base, M1, M2). Multiple versions of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) are discussed as is the relatively new Personal Consumption Index (PCE). The Federal Reserve now considers the PCE their favorite measurement of inflation. How the various inflation measurements have changed during recent years as a mechanism to increase income taxes and cut social security benefits is also discussed.

The video examines the current State of the City of Kirksville and the three incumbent Kirksville City Council members running for re-election on April 5 , 2022. The incumbents are Mayor Zack Burden, Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Parks, and Councilmember Jennifer Walston. Mayor Bruden was first appointed to fill a vacancy on the Council in August 2018. Mayor Pro Tem Parks was first elected in 2019, and Councilmember Walston was appointed to the Council in May 2021 to replace Councilmember Chuck Long who resigned in April 2021.

In the video I cover a brief history of monetary policy and inflation with a focus on the United States. Economic crisis such as the Great Depression, the inflation of the 1970s, the Savings and Loan Fiasco, the Dot.com Bubble, and the Housing Bubble are discussed. International hyperinflation is also discussed including the Weimar Republic, Russia, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe. The current inflation environment and the probable stock market bubble in the USA are also covered. Possible strategies for maximizing returns while minimizing risk in the current investment environment are analyzed. A shorter version of this presentation was given the the Pachyderm Club in Springfield, MO in April 2021.

In this video we outline the calculations the US government uses to determine a retiree's Social Security benefit payment. We discuss how a recipients Primary Insurance Amount (PIA), and Average Indexed Monthly Earnings (AIME) are calculated. We also discuss how these calculations have changed since Social Security was first created, and how future changes are likely to cut Social Security benefits. We also discuss strategies a retiree can use to maximize their after tax Social Security benefits.

In this video we discuss the process of turning Non-Qualified Funds into Qualified Funds. We discuss how to minimize income taxes during your lifetime including a discussion of when it is optimal to use tax deferred accounts vs Roth accounts. We discuss IRAs, 401(k)s, 403(b)s, 457(b)s, TSPs, SEP, and SIMPLE plans. Also Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)s and what states are tax friendly for retirement purposes. We give an introduction to how Roth Conversions can be used to minimize taxation during your retirement years.

In this video we discuss taxation of social security benefits. We show how social security taxation is determined by your combined income and your filing states. We discuss how to minimize your Social Security taxes through strategies such as the timing of Social Security Benefits Payments, and the use of Roth conversions for Qualified Funds and IRAs (IRA, 403(b), 401(k), TSP). This video discusses the economic conditions in the real economy versus the performance of the U.S. stock market. It examines why the stock market is going up while the real economy is doing very poorly and indicates possible investment strategies for 2021 and beyond.

In this video I discuss how to calculate the Modified Internal Rate of Return (MIRR) and how the MIRR is used for Capital Investment Decisions.

In this video we use Saving for Retirement as a Time Value of Money example. We look at monthly deposits in an index fund investing in the Wilshire 5000 Total Stock Market Index and calculate how large the deposits must be to retire with $1,000,000.

In this article I discuss the financial history of the United States’ Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance program (OASDI), also known as Social Security, I discuss changes in the benefits formula, the payroll tax, and other related issues. I show that over the last few decades participation in the social security system has become far less appealing, and that currently most social security participants will receive a negative return on their payments.

This video discusses the history of the United States stock market with some references to international markets. In this video we discuss a history of monetary policy and inflation in the United States. The 1933 default on the gold standard and the Bretton Woods Agreement are discussed. A brief discussion of inflation in the Weimar Republic and Zimbabwe are also included.

To test climate change or global warming theories in the United States I analyzed record high and record low data for locations in all 50 of the United States for both January and July over the entire available record. While there was a general trend of increasing numbers of record highs and decreasing numbers of record lows, most of the regional results were not statistically significant and there were many counter trend examples. Of particular interest were the record highs during the extremely hot summers of the Great Depression in 1930s. A literature review and a discussion of the politics of climate change is also included.

In this presentation we will study the outcomes and structure of the United States health care system before and after the 1960s. During the 1960s the Food and Drug Administration, Medicare, and Medicaid were all created. We find that after the 1960s the regular increase in the life span of Americans decreased in pace, health care became more expensive, and the bureaucracy of the U.S. health care system drastically increased.
