Microcosmos - Parvus Mundus. This is a wonderful book, and I plan to start to work on it once I have completed Pexenfelder. It will take your Latin and Classical knowledge to new heights. It is an encyclopedia of allegory and mythology - a truly wonderful compendium. The structure is based on the Orbis Pictus, with copious illustrations, which are referred to in the text. This delightful book was published by Martin Mayer in 1670, and was intended for all students of the classics, with a particular usefulness for artists and poets.
