A wise person once said – three things cannot remain hidden for long: the sun, the moon and the truth. We live in a world of misinformation, that which is misleading, and disinformation, that which is deliberately deceptive. Ironically it would seem that the very same authorities and leaders who popularised these terms are in fact those most guilty of their practice.
A couple of months back I spoke with legendary reporter Seymour Hersh about a bombshell story he broke regarding the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines.
On 26 September 2022, a series of clandestine bombings and subsequent underwater gas leaks occurred on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipelines. The pipelines were built to transport natural gas from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea, and are majority owned by Gazprom.
The mainstream narrative claimed the perpetrators and the motives were at best unknown and open to debate. But, for Seymour Hersh, the sabotage was carried out by the CIA, US Navy and the Norwegian Navy, under the direct order of President Biden. To say this caused a stir in the corridors of power would be something of an understatement.
Since that explosive – pardon the pun – report came out, Seymour has doubled down on his assertion and moreover, since claimed that military intelligence alongside the US government has concocted a cover story to explain away the event. Something that has in many ways added weight to Seymour’s version of events and served as a red rag to a bull, at least where Seymour’s journalistic endeavours are concerned.

U.S. Army Colonel Retired Combat Veteran
Colonel Douglas Macgregor is a decorated combat veteran, retired US Army Colonel, author and foreign policy expert who is widely recognised for his leadership in the Battle of 73 Easting during the Gulf War – the US Army’s largest tank battle since World War II.
His distinguished career began in 1976 when he was commissioned into the Regular Army after completing his studies at the Virginia Military Institute and West Point. During his 28 years of service, he held numerous leadership positions, while his innovative thinking on military transformation and force design have had a profound impact on the global stage, influencing policies in Israel, Russia, and China.
As an author, his groundbreaking ideas have resulted in five books, including Breaking The Phalanx and Transformation Under Fire, and seen him feature as a regular commentator on defence and foreign policy issues on various media platforms including CNN, the BBC, Sky and Fox News, most notably as the go-to guy on Tucker Carlson’s now-defunct show.
In late 2020, Colonel Macgregor was appointed Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defence by then-President Donald Trump, a position he held until the end of the Trump administration, while he has also served as an expert witness before the Senate and House Armed Services Committees.
