Two Tesla Rings Side-By-Side
In this video we look at two makes of Tesla Ring: Victorious Automotive and Hanshow. The name Hanshow is often associated with the power Frunk, power lift tailgate, tilting screens and head up displays.
The packaging of the two makes is quite different with the V.A. much larger. The Hanshow box is what you would expect a ring box to be with an added touch that when you open it an LED light comes on.
When comparing rings side-by-side you will see the V.A. has a much thicker band and is a chunkier ring although there is not a significant weight difference.
The price for the Victorious Automotive is £199 whereas the Hanshow is only £108 - although both worked well and their programming was fine.

Five Ways To Reboot Your Tesla Screen When A Feature Stalls
Most people know only one way but there are in fact 5 easy ways:
Option1 The Scroll Wheel Reboot
Press both scroll wheels on either side of the steering wheel at the same time for 10 seconds and the screen will reboot.
Option 2 For The Models S & X Only.
Press and hold both buttons ABOVE the scroll wheels for 10 seconds and the driver's dash screen will reboot.
Option 3 Full Steering Wheel Hard Reset with the Brake Pedal.
Firstly press the brake pedal and at the same time press both scroll wheels in the Model 3 or both buttons above the scroll wheels in Models S and X.
After 10 seconds you can release the scroll wheels but keep your foot on the brake until eventually the screen comes back.
Option 4. Full Power Down & Reset
Firstly you should go through Option 3 but when you let your foot of the brake and the screen comes up, go to the service screen menus and select power off. You should remain totally still and not activate any of the door or seat sensors. After 5 minuets press the brake again and the screen will come back.
Finally Option 5 Factory Hard Reset
It is not advisable to do this unless you're selling the car or you're really stuck and Tesla support can’t help.
This process is similar to Option 4 but pick the option of Factory Reset.

Tesla Fault Fixing After 2 Years
My rear view mirror had become so loose that it wouldn't stay in the right position.
When I was supercharging last Thursday I popped into the service centre at Park Royal and they said they could do it Monday at 8 30 am. On the Saturday before the appointment Tesla phoned to check I could keep the appointment. On Monday I arrived at 8.30 and by 9.30 the mirror was fixed - no charge and I was on my way.
Tesla service has had a bad press in the past but two years later I can report Tesla provided a brilliant service.

Tesla New Features Coming Soon With v11 Software Update 2021
There has already been speculation about what features we will get in the v11 software update.
What usually happens is people tweet to Elon requesting features and his response is usually yes, sure, absolutely and they duly appear in the next major update.

Easy-Fit Hanshow Swivel-Mount Bracket
This has to be one of easiest mods but why do you need it? Because the Tesla Screen is fixed in one position and it would be good to have flexibility of movement.
The Hanshow bracket is easy to fit and takes about 15 minuites but I suggest you get another pair of hands to help you hold the screen.
Points to remember:
Make sure you power-off the screen and you can only work on the screen from the passengers seat as the sensor on the driver's seat will power it up. Never unplug the cable with the screen on.
Hanshow make many other products which are well made and reliable so they come recommended. The ones I have used so far with my Model 3 are
Power Trunk, Power Frunk, Smart Ring and now Swivel-Mount.

Software Update 2021.4.18.2 - The Cabin Camera
Sadly not available in Europe yet but throughout America they are waking up to this great safety addition. First it will make sure that in the light of the recent accident, where two men cheated the system to drive with nobody in the actual driving seat, this can't be done again. The camera is activated to check on the driver's attention, otherwise the autopilot will not activate or would be deactivated. As far as a privacy issue is concerned you can turn the data sharing off so that the images stay in the car. For me personally I would like it on and shared so that if there was an accident all the facts would be available. It's a great shame it is not available in the UK as I’m sure it would be helpful in an crash where everyone blames each other.

How To Pay Into A Halifax ATM
The first impression is that the ATM is well laid out with buttons for each function rather than a touch screen, which has given me problems in the past with other ATMs where screens were unresponsive.
Initially you only see a drawer and a slot and you might think you can't pay in cash. But once you press the deposit option you can select any amount from £1 to £1000 and there is an envelope to put the cash in. That way the condition of the notes doesn't matter and they fit easily inside the envelope. This does seem the best method for handling cash.
Once you deposit the envelope back in the slot the receipt soon follows and you are done and can get on your way. It will take 48 hours to be added to your account. And the staff at Halifax, Watford were on hand for any questions. All round, an excellent experience.
Nationwide have the best system as they supply you with envelopes so it doesn't matter how creased your notes are. Once you put them in the envelope, in they go. If you key in the wrong amount Nationwide will check what’s actually in the envelope and credit you with that amount. It takes 24 hours to appear in your account you can't draw that money out until it’s cleared. But you can use the machine 24-7 so no more queuing at the branch to pay in. That all makes it very convenient to use the Nationwide as your bank.
Can You Put Your Tesla Through A Car Wash?
This is a question that has been asked many times. You've spent a lot of money on your car so it's only right that you look after it but the best way to keep it clean is undoubtedly a hand wash - not an automatic car wash. I have been taking mine to a hand wash for a year now with no ill effects. But there are a few things to be aware of:
1. Keep the car locked as this will stop the charge port opening when you or the guys are cleaning the Tesla.
2. Turn the wipers completely off to stop them activating when water hits the windscreen.
3. Make sure the air conditioning is off to stop damp smells coming into the car the next time you turn on the air con.
After a year it's all been great for me. You can do a dry wash with a special spray such as Savewater products but you can't beat the car being washed by hand - it's worth the effort!

Tesla Crash Update - How Did They Hack A Tesla?
Thanks to consumer reports for making this video in which I explain how with very little effort you can cheat a Tesla into Full Self Driving mode without a driver. It now transpires that is what happened:
Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said:
"We have witness statements from people that said they left to test drive the vehicle without a driver and to show the friend how it can drive itself".
Tesla's response:
'Tesla's Autopilot is a driver assistance system that handles some driving tasks and allows drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel at times, but its features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous'.
Elon Musk tweeted that he rejected the idea that the vehicle's semi-automated driving software was to blame: "Data logs recovered so far show Autopilot was not enabled & this car did not purchase FSD". He said Tesla's separate beta semi-automated driver assistance system still requires driver supervision.
"Standard Autopilot would require lane lines to turn on, which this street did not have," he added, referring to road markers that need to be captured by a vehicle's cameras to enable autopilot.

Tesla update 2021.4.18 in this update we notice the button has gone again they have fixed the speed on Binacle that know works again when you touch it goes back in to cruise speed couldn’t see a dog on visualisation when you drive above 30 mph you can’t fold in or out mirrors

Jeda Wireless Charging Pad For Your Tesla Model 3 or Y
This new version can accommodate the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a case - the previous model would not allow charging with the case on.
Version 4 with its different design allows the Tesla lid to close over the phone and charge properly, which solves the problem. What is interesting is that I wrote to Jeda explaining the issue with the iPhone 12 and case and not only did they listen but they did something about it and made it work correctly!

How Does Dog Mode Work On The Tesla Model 3?
Tesla is the only car manufacturer that offers this facility for owners of pets, specifically to keep them safe from excessive heat or cold inside the car.
Well first you need a pet, so today I managed to borrow a lovely dog named Solo for the film shoot - not named after the Man From Uncle, by the way!
For dog fans Solo is a 16 week-old, super friendly Cocker Spaniel. He’s inquisitive, downright nosey at times and a complete goofball. He loves his squeaky pig toy, squabbling with the cat and sniffing out snails. His favourite movie is Return of the Jedi, mainly because of the Ewoks, although he has yet to view the latest Star Wars films. Oh, and he's recently developed a liking for flip-flops. So back to the car and Dog Mode is as an extension of Tesla’s Cabin Overheat Protection Mode, which automatically cools the cabin if it reaches a high temperature in order to keep babies or pets safe, according to Musk. Dog Mode is a more proactive setting that the owner can refine. It automatically keeps the interior temperature cool and puts a message on the car’s touchscreen to tell passersby that the dogs are okay, and that their “owner will be back soon.”
To activate dog mode you go into your Air Conditioning Settings and you have the following options: On / Off / Dog Mode / Camp Mode
Set the temperature range - somewhere between 19 -25 centigrade is best. This will give a broad range to keep your pet cool or warm depending on the environment. After setting that,
turn on Dog Mode and exit car. The screen will tell everyone who looks in that your pet is safe and there is no need to break a window to let air in. That's the key feature.

The 18 Top Modifications I Have Done To My Tesla Model 3:
People have asked me what are your best modifications for your Tesla? This supplements part 11 of my feature series.
1. Tesla Roof Bars / Roof Rack by Tesla Motors
The Tesla suffers no loss of range by having them fitted. They look good but get Tesla to fit them to avoid damage or warranty problems.
2. ABS rear quarter-light protection. This stops the back window quarter-light being broken. Before sentry mode it was very common for thieves to target this window but sentry mode has now solved the problem.
3. Mud flaps. These will protect the underside of the car from corrosion.
4.Windows tint - to prevent people from seeing into the car. I tinted the back & side windows and roof. The roof was necessary to keep the cabin from overheating through the overhead sun - even in the UK!.
5. Powerlift Auto Trunk by Hanshow. There are cheaper and more powerful struts to auto close and open but these have been known to cause damage to the back window, so I don't recommend them.
6. Boot protector. This will protect cargo from damaging the bumper as you load it.
7 .Cargo storage. This will keep the cargo area well-organised.
8. Tesla Ring. If your mobile phone runs out of charge this is the most useful mod you can carry with you all the time. It means you will never be locked out of your car. Tesla Ring by Victorious Automotive has no battery to worry about so is just is a very useful extra key to have.
9. Dash cap by RPM. This really delighted me. I hated the wood finish dash and this has improved it brilliantly.
8. Changing all the rather dim internal lights in the car to brighter LEDs. Abstract Ocean has the solution.
9. Because I'm a James Bond gadget man I wanted to add some features to my centre console - no not oil slicks, machine guns or tacks to puncture tyres. No, I added a voice unit that says, in a female voice, "I'm over here". I can use this to warn cyclists I'm behind them or pedestrians that I'm approaching or I can get Siri to activate it when I'm parked and can't find the car.
10 Back-up Reverse Talker. For example "Attention Malcan is reversing". It has the similar effect as above, to warn people I'm reversing.
11. Key Fob. Before I got my Tesla Ring I used this as a back-up to get into the car. There are two types of the key fob and the one you want has Tesla written on the back of the key fob, so don't be caught out with the wrong one.
12. Arm rest valuables safe storage. Exactly as it says.
13. The Powerlift Frunk. Once again there were cheaper and more powerful struts and soft close springs but these have been known to cause fatigue to the bonnet as they open it with such force. So definitely do not take the cheap option. The only disadvantage of the powerlift was you could accidentally open it from the screen but that brings me to the final mod....
14 Frunk Mod from Hanshow. This is a wiring change but is very simple to do and will allow you to close the Frunk from the screen. There is now an update to open the Trunk and Frunk by voice control. It works very well except you do need the wiring mod.

When I was a lad I watched the James Bond films and two in particular. Firstly in Goldfinger there was the bullet-proof screen and in this video I'll show you how Siri could have done this with a Tesla. Looking at the remote app I'll also demonstrate the following features: trunk & frunk operation, lights, horn and the Homelink for Where Is My Car? - all by remote control.
Then in 1997 in Tomorrow Never Dies, Bond drove the Aston Martin with his own remote control. Just what a youngster's dreams are made of! But now in 2020 it's come to pass! You can summon the Tesla and bring the car to you or even send it to another location all by itself.
All of this is now possible with the remote control facility. That’s why it’s the ultimate toy for grown-ups, who in Bond's day, could only imagine such gizmos.

Showing once again how a Tesla is like no other car. In this video we see how easy it is to be able to cool or heat the cabin from home before you unlock the car. It means it needn't be uncomfortably hot inside before you get in. Or, on the other hand, if your car is iced-up in the morning before work, nothing could be easier than to de-ice the windshield and warm up the inside before you even get out of bed! I wanted to test two noun issues from previous update firstly stopping at the give way signs. As previous it stopped 20 feet away now it's on the Line
Next problem if you have a power lift Trunk the button for putting down the trunk has missing it is now back
And finally going around the bends this is a lot better to.

Tesla Update Features Part 5: Summon Here!
In this video we have a look at the tight parking space problem. The Tesla Model 3 can easily solve it!
From outside the car open the Tesla app on your phone (free for both Android or Apple). Go to the summon section and press forward. You can now safely drive it out of the space so you can get into it; or you can select reverse to park it perfectly into a narrow space or the garage.
It shows once again why Tesla makes the most advanced cars on the planet. Definitely a car for the future and the Rolls Royce of all EVs.
