I managed to snowshoe out to the cabin this weekend. Did not get much work done on the building but checked on the cabin and shoveled snow out of the front and off the porch. The chinking is holding up well and there was no snow inside. I also shot my muzzle loader rifles and cast some lead balls. Had a nice time but the walk out was difficult for sure. Thanks for watching.
Took a hike down river to see if the springs are frozen into icy water falls. It has been cold and snowing but it was a nice for hiking on the ice of the river. Down river on the lake you could here the ATV races and chatted with a fellow traveler on the my walk down stream. Any questions or comments please leave them below. Thanks for watching.

We had a pleasant January Saturday so I decided to head out to the Cabin to clean up from Christmas. Weather was warm and icy for us and not really nice to be in the woods. I also got to make lunch on the Camp Chef cook stove and oven. It works really well as a cook stove and the oven is not bad either. I do a lo of cooking on the wood stove and outside in the fire pit but it is nice to have another source. Sit back and come along for the ride and thank you for watching.

Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you all. Just a quick video from the off grid cabin wishing everyone a happy holiday. I had too run the generator to power all the lights. Special thanks to Sharon and Eric for the Christmas tree that fits right in the tiny off grid cabin.
Even with the hot weather I managed to finish chinking the inside of the cabin and put in most of the floor. I did change my plans on how to do the floor and I think for the better. Part if what makes this project fun is seeing what and how I can manage to make things work out. I have learned a lot. Every year I find bear sign or get a game cam video of a bear, and this year is no different. Everyone likes the old salt block stump and Mr. bear had to check out what it was all about. Any comments or questions please leave them below and i will get back to you. Thanks for watching, like, share, and subscribe.

May has been a warm wet month this year and it is not helping me with the cabin build. With all the rain the mosquitoes have hatched and the swamps are full of water. All the water makes it hard to get material out to the cabin but I did get some work done. I still have a lot of chinking to do but at least I carried some mortar in to work with. Soon I will finish the inside floor and trim up the windows. Looking forward to getting that done. Thanks for watching.

Chinking my cabin is a very necessary part of this build, even though it is not my favorite part. The logs have dried in place and the weather is just warm enough for me to start on that process. This log structure I built is starting feel more like a cabin with every trip out to the woods. The next video I will be putting in the floor hopefully and maybe working on the outside chinking. Any questions or comments leave them below and I will get back to you. Thanks for watching.

The three knife challenge is being passed around on youtube between video creators. Pick 3 knives, one that you use as an EDC, one that is your oldest, and one that is your favorite. MTrunk 85 tagged me in his video so I answered in kind with this video. Check out his channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt4J8okVyuqQDBkPWNDjCXg

We had an old cross cut saw on the farm that was rusty but otherwise in good shape. Did some research and it is a Keystone Champion 4 foot One or Two Man saw. I had to build a new handle for it and clean the blade. It still was pretty sharp but I touched it up files. The medallions in the old handle were gone, but the manufacturers marking on the blade is still visible. I will make a video felling a tree with an axe and this cross cut then I will hang it up in my off grid cabin as a usable decoration. Thanks for watching and check out my play list and all my other videos.

A year ago this month I started this log cabin project and this video is a compilation of clips put together to show the progress we have made so far on my off-grid cabin. I have basically framed up the structure so far and I am pretty happy with the progress. All the materials except for the ply wood are sourced right from the property. Most of the work has been on weekends and holidays. It gives me new found appreciation for building and videoing the process. I would like to thank everyone who has helped and donated material to this build. Any questions or comments leave them below.

I received some information about the Savage muzzleloaders and the problems and law suits surrounding them. Looking at this muzzleloader and giving my thoughts as an owner and a fan. Safety is the most important thing with firing a muzzleloader so don't take it for granted. New York Post : https://nypost.com/2017/12/05/gunmake... Welcome to Campfire Commentary, today I discuss the "Mainstream Media's" bias against so called assault rifles and the second amendment. It is simple to see the over all agenda is to ban all weapons and deprive citizens of there rights. The Legacy Media misuse the term assault rifle to further there gun banning plans. Never trade freedom for security, you will end up with neither. Any questions or comments please feel free to leave below. Thank you for watching.
