During coverage of the '08 Democratic National Convention, MSNBC's Republican resident Joe Scarborough was commenting on the John McCain Presidential Campaign when Keith Olbermann was caught on hot mic remarking on the bullshit Joe was peddling. This was just part of what Keith later describes on his Countdown podcast as a bitter rivalry between him and the Morning Joe host, given Joe had attempted to get Keith removed from MSNBC long before Keith's departure due to NBC terminating his contract over changes within management.

Nigel Evans, MP for Ribble Valley, having to calm down a heated debate in the House of Commons as Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons under then-speaker John Bercow of Buckingham (2009 to 2017).
Nigel would wind up resigning as deputy speaker in Sept. of 2013 due to allegations of sexual misconduct, of which he vehemently denies. He then was able to resume his position under current Speaker, Lindsay Hoyle of Chorley, since 2020.
John Bercow retired in 2019.

Yes, the game had to stop due to sunlight, which was shining in Joonas Korpisalo's eyes through an open air entrance. And yeah, the stadium decided to play Motorhead's The Game, the theme to WWE legend, now CCO of the organization, Paul "Triple H" Levesque.
Senators won, 3-2.

Obama continued to serve as president for 4 more years, while Karl Rove continued his post-Bush-Presidency retirement, but would also throw a hissy fit when his 2020 prediction about the DNC's "contested convention" went up in smoke, resulting in Politico giving that the title of "the most audacious, confident and spectacularly incorrect prognostications about the year." What made it worse was he was one of many advisors on Trump's re-election campaign that year.

The attempt began under the title "Hitler Moustache" and on Radio 4 with "Richard Herring's Objective", to not much success with a misrepresenting article published by a critic on The Guardian. Despite the stint, Richard still is active on the standup and media circuits, having pioneered the comedy podcast with his Leicester Square Theatre Podcast since 2012.

The United Kingdom finally broke off of the European Union on Dec. 31, 2020.
This wasn't the first or final time the famous leader of the UK Independence Party was made a fool, as since then, he's been pranked on Cameo with silly names and references to Irish Republican slogans, and he's still not been let go of his famous European Union Parliament rants, where he claimed Belgium was not a nation and then-EU President Herman von Rompuy had "the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low grade bank clerk."

KLOS-FM eventually splits up into three digital channels. The main station, servicing the Greater LA area, continues to play rock, while KLOS 2 has a talk radio format, and KLOS 3 plays Armenian music. The Mark and Brian Show, which began in '87 and was the host of this bet, ended in 2012 with one of the hosts retiring after 25 years, and would be replaced with another morning drive-time show.

In both instances, in attempts to block legislation, Senators Ted Cruz of TX and JD Vance of OH (both Republicans) used various time-wasters to filibuster, most famously, reading Dr. Seuss books. Cruz chose Green Eggs and Ham, and Vance chose Oh The Places You'll Go.

Ted Cruz attempted to block the Senate vote about the Affordable Care Act by lasting 21 hours and 19 minutes, calling to defund the health care bill that went into effect in March of 2010. He has also resorted to quotes from the A&E show Duck Dynasty and the song of the now-late Toby Keith song "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue". Obamacare remains a thing popular among the American population.

In 2024, JD Vance read Seuss to block a bill that would fund Ukraine, Israel, and help keep Taiwan out of mainland China's hands. Republicans refused to cooperate as according to Utah's Mike Lee "We cannot send billions of dollars to Ukraine while America’s own borders are bleeding." However just before that, a bill with the strictest border control plan in bipartisan history was shot down due to Trump wanting it dead to run his re-election campaign on that wasn't revenge and saving his ass from the 91 criminal charges.

A clip of a sleepy and bored kid behind then-President George W. Bush from the Spring of '04 surfaced. The Late Show with David Letterman had a chuckle out of it, but CNN, for no stated reason (yet), claimed "it was faked" and that the White House said so, then claimed "yeah, the kid was there but totally not behind him, then WH claimed they never said anything, then CNN claimed "whoopsie," making Dave upset about this pathetic spin attempt to throw him under the bus. What really upset him was that the WH really DID call CNN to throw Dave under so Bush won't look like a worse idiot. All the while, keeping the kid clear of any wrongdoing.

Late Summer 2009, from two Countdown w/Keith Olbermann episodes (9/3 and 9/4)

At the height of Glen's tenure at Fox News, he went on a wild tangent on his program misinterpreting murals, statues, and engravings at Rockafeller Center, claiming it's communism propaganda and trying very hard to stretch it very far to pin then-President Barack Obama as an indoctrinating communist.

In 2011, Glenn retired from his show and Fox News, starting his own network The Blaze, doing his own shows.
Keith here would be fired from MSNBC for a questionable campaign contribution that violated his contract in 2012 and was picked up by Current TV. However the Al Gore-owned network and Olbermann clashed on the show's production, Keith admitting "I screwed up." He was then featured on GQ magazine for a while during the Trump Administration, and began his Countdown Podcast in 2022 for iHeart Radio.
Both do moderately well in their targeted political audiences.
