Today (September 13) the Serbian authorities made a final decision regarding the Pride Parade in Belgrade, which is now definitely banned. Citing credible threats to the safety of the participants, from a right wing counter protest, happening at the same time. Since the news broke, the right wingers have been taking a victory lap and the gay activists are being salty about it, appealing the decision in the courts and vowing to have their walk no matter the ban.
A battle won for the right wing, but at what cost and ultimately a triumph that might cost them winning the war in the long run. Napoleon said: "Never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake". I think they just did.

In this video I will try to break down to the best of my ability the whole situation regarding the Serbian Government canceling Europride and the events leading up to that decision.
Europride was supposed to be an international gay event in Belgrade this September, attended by over 20.000 homosexuals from all over Europe until it was banned last week by the Serbian Government. Stating as the reason the difficult economic situation in the country and a diplomatic crisis with self proclaimed Kosovo.
The previous weekend, by some estimates, over 50.000 conservative, right wing and religious people walked in protest of Belgrade hosting the biggest gay pride parade in Europe of this year.
