A Little About Us and the Moss Free Alliance
As some of my followers may know, I have a background in the trades and in art/education. In fact, I am currently working to become a certified teacher in the state of Colorado, while sub contracting in glass to pay the bills in the meantime. The plan is to procure a position in a small mountain town and work on our first major goal; acquiring land for the project. Our goal is to raise $20K as a down payment, and through our own resources we are about 1/3 of the way there. My wife Nora is an accomplished journalist and she has worked for major news outlets and well known publications. She will be doing a lot of writing going forward.

So, what is the goal of the Moss Free Alliance, MFA for short? We are working to create a #peer2peer network focused on researching and creating solutions. Solutions to what, you ask? Food stability, water resources, affordable self-built housing, cottage industry and the marketing of products, art, community, digital economy..... but a few the things many of us are concerned with.

The general structure will be a co-op on at least 35 acres of land, with earthships and perhaps some tiny houses, cabins or the like. There will be greenhouses, food preservation, foraging, small scale animal husbandry, art production, production of pottery and other crafted items and so on. Ultimately we look to have 4-6 permanent residents, the rest of the living spaces being reserved for "students". We will have multiple courses and workshops teaching residents, local community members and anyone we have space for about these diverse skill-sets. We would like to see our graduates become land owners and create sister communities working towards the same goals: The Moss Free Alliance. We have spent the last several years networking, preparing financial and business strategies and so on. Most of that groundwork is laid, and we are one month away from the official launch of the site, and hence the project.

We have some friends in Nepal whose village is interested in becoming our first international sister community, and they are pretty much already doing, and are masters of, many of the things we wish to learn. More on that later.

Finally, we will support an artist in residence during the summer moths. Once that is launched and stable we will then do a writer in residence program during the winter. These residency programs will be fully funded, none of this pay us 5,000 and pay your bills for three months while you are away nonsense. Oh no, we want the people who really need the support. The income from the co-op, rent and so on will more than cover this. My wife and I both work of course, and we are putting a lot of our treasure and time into this. Any support we get via donation or the site and so on go straight to the MFA fund. Again, be watching for the launch of the site mid next month!

I am pleased to announce that we are now a verified publisher on the Brave Browser
and it was not an easy process. It involved plugins on Wordpress, a rather convoluted ID verification process via Uphold and so on. I would say some streamlining is needed because I was determined that nothing was going to stop us! The average user may not be so persistent! Really my only complaint and Brave is an amazing evolution in the Web.

Consider throwing us some support and be watching for our website launch, we are just getting started folks and it's been a long time in the planning. We all have to work together to make this thing succeed!

Just ordered this years crop and thought I would share some thought on food and change. I have a lot to learn myself.
