When you’re writing a letter, the first thing you need to understand is WHO you’re writing too, and WHY you are writing the letter you are writing. If do not know or consider who and why you are writing, the point you want to make will be lost.
The same case is with the Gospel of John. We have to understand who John was writing this to, and why he wrote it. Have you ever wondered why the Gospel of John is vastly different than the other Gospels? You hear of the synoptic Gospels which are Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Then you have John which is viewed as having a different purpose to writing this Gospel.
The synoptic Gospels point to Jesus being the Messiah that the Old Testament prophecies spoke of. They gave proof that Jesus was the Messiah by showing in their eye-witness accounts that he fulfilled all of the Old Testament Prophecies even down to the smallest ones. The Gospel of John does show this, but it shows something more.

We think we are naturally smart with knowledge. The phrase “Knowledge is Power” is popular in the world today. We think that the number of things we know, have memorized, or can recite with ease means that a person is smart. We look at the education people had, the level of success they had, and how well known and respected they are by other quote unquote “Wise” people.
I searched up on Google “World’s Smartest People” and these are some that were given based solely on their I.Q. People like Stephen Hawkins, Charles Dickens, Michelangelo, Plato, Galileo, Isaac Newton, and Leonardo Da Vinci. People hold these people (And many more) up because they are intelligent, wise, and well respected and known. People have forgotten that there is a vast difference between Wisdom and Knowledge.

Mormonism: a church that in 2019 had over 16 million people as members. Like many other religions that not only exist, but have a massive following, Mormonism claims to be the one and only true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints identifies itself as being apart of Christianity, going so far as to say that they are a branch or a denomination of the Christian faith. On the surface, this belief system appears to be Biblical; they teach Christ died for our sins on the cross, they believe in the Bible, and they preach salvation. So, what makes this belief different than others?
Like man-made religious cults, it has a human leader and founder. Some cults can have multiple leaders who make their own ‘bible’ based on their teachings and persuade people to follow after them and their teachings. This has always been a part of history even since Biblical times. During the Old Testament, cults were mostly focused on sex and fertility with the major deity being Baal. Baal designated the universal god of fertility, and in that capacity his title was Prince, Lord of the Earth. He was also called the Lord of Rain and Dew, the two forms of moisture that were indispensable for fertile soil in Canaan.
A cult is a group or movement held together by a shared commitment to a charismatic leader or ideology. It has a belief system that has the answers to all of life's questions and offers a special solution to be gained only by following the leader's rules. The key characteristic of a cult is the axis mundi, the shamanic leader at the center of the organization. There are those who will say that Christianity falls into this category. But when you look at what a ‘Shamanic leader” is, you see True Christianity is nothing like it.

We broke God’s law when we sinned against him. Because of our sin against God, we earned death and Hell because of our sin. God is a judge, and a judge will punish us not for what we did right, but for what we did wrong. But God loved us enough that he provided a way that we could be restored. God became a man, Jesus Christ, and he suffered and died on the cross to take our sin off us and put it on himself. He was buried, and three days later he rose from the grave, and is sitting at the righthand of God. Jesus offers anyone forgives, but it only applies if you accept it. To receive eternal life, we must

1. Repent of our sins
2. Turn to Jesus Christ
3. Believe in him (Believe that he died for us)

The Bible says that as soon as we put out faith and trust in Jesus, God will forgive our sin and give us eternal life.

Romans 10:9
“If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Time is short, accept Jesus Christ now!
