Marble, I tiny town hidden deep in the north western side of the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. Less than 10 miles from McClure Pass it is home to only a couple dozen people year round and perhaps 100 or 200 in the summer. This video is a good example of what it's like to photograph during gray dreary weather
This is the beginning of another series I am working on doing. Between this and the San Juan Mountains these videos will give a better perspective of some of Colorado's more spectacular mountains. Places that most tourists don't go to or see. There will be a lot more places that require hikes to get to them as well

Telluride's gondola system is the only free transportation system of it's kind in the United States. This video is my riding the Gondola from the Mountain Market to the Mountain Village station than up 1000 feet to the top at the San Sophia Station at over 10,000 feet in elevation. It also drops down to the town of Telluride, a 2000 foot drop from the San Sophia Station. I did not ride that segment on this day as I was running out of time, but do have another video with that coming up soon 🚊

This is the last part of my car vlog driving over the portion of Highway 550 from Ouray to Silverton, also known as The Million Dollar Highway and Red Mountain Pass. This video starts at the top of Red Mountain Pass and ends in Silverton with a pit stop at my campsite. My night of camping had to be cancelled due to the dense smoke from the 416 fire that exploded that same day.
My camera recording the car vlog is the GoPro Hero 5 Black
settings:
Protune, White balance set to native, ISO and sharpness set to the lowest settings allowed. 2.7K Linear view, 23.976 FPS
Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. I Accidentally set the project to 1280X720 and exported as same.

The Cache Creek Fire. Not the biggest fire ever, but it is the closest a major fire has come to me personally. I live only a couple of miles from the fire. As of the uploading of this our area is completely filled with smoke with occasional ash fall

Part 2 of my drive over Red Mountain Pass. This time around I had difficulty rendering the video. Premiere Pro kept crashing on me, plus I accidentally made this at 720 instead of 1080. In order to render this I had to render it in 5 components then using a second program to render all 5 components as just the audio and video files into one video. With that in mind and the 720 resolution some video quality degradation has occurred.

This is part 1 of my drive over Red Mountain Pass in south west Colorado between Ouray and Silverton. Part 1 stops at Crystal Lake on the Ouray side of the pass.
I took this 1 day after the 416 fire started. At this point it had exploded to the monstrosity that it is today where it has burned over 50,000 acres. Though it was south of Silverton, when I got into the town and set up my tent, the winds blew the smoke into the Silverton valley. It was strong enough to burn my throat so I ended up going home after shooting until sunset.
The San Juan National Forest which surrounds Silverton is closed at the moment
