Unconquered is a 1947 American historical epic adventure film produced and directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starring Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard. The supporting cast features Boris Karloff, Cecil Kellaway, Ward Bond, Howard Da Silva, Katherine DeMille (the director's daughter), C. Aubrey Smith and Mike Mazurki. Released by Paramount Pictures, the film depicts the violent struggles between American colonists and Native Americans on the western frontier in the mid-18th century during the 1763 Pontiac's Rebellion, primarily around Fort Pitt (modern-day Pittsburgh). The film is characterized by DeMille's lavish style, including colourful costumes and sets, thousands of extras, violence, and sensationalism.

State Fair is a 1945 American Technicolor musical film directed by Walter Lang with original music by Rodgers and Hammerstein. It is a musical adaptation of the 1933 film of the same name, itself an adaptation of the 1932 novel by Phil Stong. The film stars Jeanne Crain, Dana Andrews, Dick Haymes, Vivian Blaine, Fay Bainter, and Charles Winninger. State Fair was remade in 1962, that time starring Pat Boone and Ann-Margret.

State Fair was the only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical written directly for film. The movie introduced such popular songs as "It's A Grand Night For Singing" and "It Might as Well Be Spring", which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Joint musical direction was by Alfred Newman and Charles E. Henderson of orchestral arrangements principally by Edward B. Powell.

This Rodgers and Hammerstein's original musical film was first adapted for the stage in 1969, for a production at The Muny in St. Louis. In 1996, it was adapted again for a Broadway musical of the same name, with additional songs taken from other Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals.

Cosgrove Hall Films (the same team behind Truckers) for Thames Television and aired on the ITV network. The film is based on Kenneth Grahame's classic 1908 novel The Wind in the Willows.

Between 1984 and 1990, Cosgrove-Hall subsequently made a 52-episode television series, with the film serving as a pilot. The Scarlet Pimpernel is a 1982 British romantic adventure television film set during the French Revolution. It is based on the novels The Scarlet Pimpernel (1905) and Eldorado (1913) by Baroness Emmuska Orczy, and stars Anthony Andrews as Sir Percy Blakeney/the Scarlet Pimpernel, the protagonist, Jane Seymour as Marguerite St. Just, the love interest, and Ian McKellen as Chauvelin, the antagonist.

In 1792 during the Reign of Terror, the Scarlet Pimpernel rescues French aristocrats while posing as the wealthy but foppish and seemingly empty-headed Sir Percival Blakeney. Percy marries the beautiful French actress Marguerite St. Just, but her previous relationship with Robespierre's agent Paul Chauvelin may endanger the Pimpernel's plans to save the young Dauphin, eldest son of the former King of France. The story differs from the book but is largely inspired by it.

The film LIFE WITH FATHER (1947) was adapted from the 1939 Broadway play, which was based on Clarence Day's autobiographical stories about his family and father, a governor on the New York Stock Exchange. The Broadway production ran for 3,224 performances and still holds the record as the longest-running non-musical play in Broadway history.

In late 19th-century NYC, a stockbroker strives to maintain authority over his bustling household, but it's his wife who truly rules the roost.

TRIVIA: Since both leads demanded top billing, half of the released prints billed Dunne first and the other half listed Powell first. First-run theaters were required to these alternate prints and advertising alternated the same way.
