Katherine Maher, the NPR CEO Asserting "Truth" is a "Distraction."

Says it's `getting in the way of getting things done.'

New NPR CEO Katherine Maher gave a Ted Talk during which she asserted that "truth" is a "distraction" which is "getting in the way of getting things done."

Calls are growing for NPR to have its government funding withdrawn after a series of tweets by Maher were uncovered in which she supported far-left causes, including endorsing racial reparations and making claims that the planet is "burning."

But the content of the Ted Talk she gave is raising even more eyebrows.

Maher ludicrously suggested during the speech that far-left Wikipedia had a model "which actually works really well" in determining "what the truth really is."

Acknowledging that Wikipedia writers are "not focused on the truth, they're focused on something else, which is the best of what we can know right now," Maher suggested the "truth" was not a priority.

"In fact, our reverence for the truth might be a distraction that's getting in the way of finding common ground and getting things done," she said.

Maher went on to claim "there are many different truths" based on the feelings, environment and perception of different individuals.

In other words, there is no objective truth and the truth is whatever left-wing journalists and biased Wikipedia editors say it is.

Elon Musk has blasted NPR in recent days, asserting that the network has "become a hard left propaganda machine that tolerates no dissent."

That was in response to comments by award-winning veteran senior NPR editor Uri Berliner, who was suspended after sharing concerns about the state of the corporate media.

Leon Panetta, former Defense secretary during the Obama administration, said it’s “not surprising” that Israel admitted mistakes after an airstrike killed aid workers earlier this week, because in his experience, “the Israelis usually fire and then ask questions.”

“You have to be able to verify to take time to make sure that information that you’re getting is accurate with regards to targets,” Panetta told CNN’s Jim Sciutto Friday. “And I have to tell you that in the past, at least in my experience, the Israelis usually fire and then ask questions.”

Panetta’s comments come just days after an Israeli airstrike killed seven World Central Kitchen workers delivering food to civilians in Gaza.

In 2014, Professor and political activist Cornel West declared President Barack Obama a “war criminal,” arguing that his support of Israel and his drone policy make him complicit in the deaths of innocent people.

Media personality Alex Jones declared his intention to file lawsuits against the FBI and CIA during an appearance on the Benny Johnson show.

This announcement followed the release of an undercover video by Sound Investigations, which featured a CIA officer purportedly admitting to federal agencies targeting conservatives, including Jones.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported on the footage in which Gavin O’Blennis, a Contracting Officer for the CIA, was caught on hidden camera by an undercover journalist claiming that the FBI could imprison anyone by setting them up, a method he referred to as a “nudge.”

O’Blennis singled out right-wing journalists, specifically Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones, as being problematic and suggested that the FBI “took [Jones’] money away” and “chopped his legs off” as a means of crippling his operations.

O’Blennis also disclosed the presence of undercover FBI agents during the events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, suggesting a widespread federal involvement in key national events. He mentioned the use of “embellished news” and “fake social media” as tools to incite public anger and manipulate public perception.

During his interview with Benny Johnson, Alex Jones expressed his conviction that the now-public statements by O’Blennis necessitate immediate action.

“I am planning to launch a lawsuit against the CIA and the FBI,” Jones said. He contextualized the timing of the undercover video’s release as a divine intervention, coinciding with the closure of his bankruptcy proceedings and other legal matters.

The Infowars founder said that his portrayal by the media and the government was a misrepresentation aimed at demonizing him. He indicated that his planned lawsuit would not only be a personal vindication but an effort to expose the overreach of “rogue agencies” operating like a “domestic KGB.”

In discussing potential legal strategies, Jones mentioned consulting with multiple law firms, highlighting First Amendment violations as a central issue, and stressed the importance of bringing evidence to light through the discovery process in court.

He also made a public appeal to Elon Musk, whom he noted had supported various freedom-related lawsuits, to assist in bringing the truth to light.

The U.S. Empire Is A Textbook Manipulative Sociopath

The U.S. centralized empire is a giant macrocosm of this entire dynamic. It pours vast amounts of energy into narrative control in the form of propaganda, censorship, Silicon Valley algorithm manipulation, government secrecy, and the war on journalism. It weaves nonstop narratives about how great it is and how horrible its enemies are. And it fears being seen more than anything in the world.

One of the great sources of distress in people’s lives is that we don’t get to be the narrator of other people’s stories about us. That we don’t get to control what other people are thinking and saying about the things we do and the kind of person we are.

We’ve all been there in some way at some point.

“If he really knew me he’d like me.”

“If they’d understood what I meant by that joke they wouldn’t have gotten offended.”

“If she could see my heart and my intentions she’d understand why I did what I did.”

“No no, that’s not what happened; they’re getting it all wrong and it’s making me look like the bad guy.”

It’s pretty normal to feel misunderstood or mis-characterized by the people in our lives from time to time. But there are some people who take that experience to very unhealthy extremes and respond to it in very unhealthy ways.

People with an underdeveloped sense of empathy, like those with narcissistic and antisocial personality disorders, don’t experience other human beings the way normal people do. To whatever extent they lack empathy for others, they see them not as sovereign people but as tools to be used to get whatever it is they want, whether that’s power, wealth, sex, respect, etc.

This view of others tends to cause people who lack empathy to become manipulative, because their interest in others is not in connecting with them, understanding them and helping them but in using and exploiting them. However perceptive and clever they are will determine how skillful they can be in manipulating people toward that end.

For such individuals, the inability to narrate other people’s stories for them is experienced not as a sometimes painful but necessary reality but as an intolerable obstacle which must be overcome. Finding ways to manipulate the thoughts people think in their minds about the manipulator, about themselves, and about others takes on a central role in their lives.

This is one of the ways you can spot a manipulator who lacks empathy in your life: they spend an inordinate amount of energy trying to influence your opinion of them, your opinion of others, and/or your opinion of yourself. I’m this way and I do such and such. She’s such a bitch, she’s always blah blah blah. You’re defective in this-and-that ways. You need me for such-and-such reasons. You wronged me in such-and-such ways.

A virulent manipulator’s entire social existence revolves around influencing the narratives people have about what’s going on in their circle in a way that benefits the manipulator. Influencing the thoughts they think to themselves, and influencing the stories they’re telling each other.

A narrative is a story. Often when people hear the word “story” they think of a whole cloth work of fiction, something made up for the amusement of others. But the overwhelming majority of the stories we experience are about our own lives and the lives of others, both in our own heads and in our conversations with people.

Israel has generously and compassionately reopened the Erez crossing to allow aid into Gaza, as it is the only way to ensure that the United States (U.S.) will keep sending them weapons to kill the people in Gaza.

Joe Biden sent Benjamin Mileikowsky aka Benjamin Netanyahu, one warning about a failure to protect civilians possibly costing Israel its U.S. support and the crossing opened immediately, which proves (A) that Israel has been intentionally starving Gazans by closing entrances off from aid and (B) that Joe Biden could have ordered this to stop at any time.

Israel Dragging U.S. into New Mid-East War - They Know What They're Doing

Over the past few days the US Biden administration has contributed to stirring up chaos over Iran’s pledged response to Israeli airstrikes that destroyed its Damascus based consulate. Despite this situation clearly being of Israel’s making, a narrative is being concocted to suggest Tel Aviv is the victim and that Tehran is preparing the equivalent of an unprovoked terrorist attack.

Almost two weeks have passed since Israel carried out an unprecedented attack against Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, murdering 7 members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the most prominent of which was Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

While the missile attack represented an egregious violation of international law and two nation’s sovereignty, in addition to being an affront to global diplomatic norms, it was also a direct strike against Iranian territory. It has to be understood that no nation would stand by and simply allow such an unprovoked aggression, tantamount to a declaration of war, to pass without any response.

When the issue was tabled by Russia at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), in an emergency session, the US prevented a condemnation of the event from being passed, essentially robbing the government of Iran any political or legal recourse, at least in the short term.

For further context, it should be noted that the Syrian Arab Republic has repeatedly attempted to appeal to the United Nations over hundreds of unprovoked Israeli attacks against its territory, including strikes on its ports and airports, as well as both its civilian and military infrastructure.

All of Syria’s pleas, which have been ongoing for years, have fallen on deaf ears and been blocked from going anywhere by the United States government, permitting repeated acts of war without any pushback against their allies in Tel Aviv.

Pro-Israel lobbyist director Jonathan Greenblatt said in a leaked phone call “We really have a TikTok problem” in the United States.

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) CEO was speaking about the difficulty the colonialists face in controlling the narrative for young people. Greenblatt suggested that the warmongers had been wrongly focusing on left-wingers who sympathise with Palestine:

Cause again like we’ve been chasing this left/ right divide. It’s the wrong game. The real game is the next generation.

Polling shows U.S. youth are particularly dissatisfied with the nation’s approach to Israel.

Some U.S. lawmakers have been pushing anti-TikTok sentiment for awhile. But the recent bill potentially banning TikTok in the U.S., which passed the House, seems to be a pressing issue because of Israel and Palestine.

President Joe Biden is under increasing pressure over covering for the genocide of Palestinians, where Israel has killed over 11,000 children. The difficulty in pretending children are terrorists has put the U.S. in a tricky spot.

This is especially so when the U.S. provides Israel with $3.3 billion in annual funds and continues to sell the state weapons. That’s while the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has found it’s “plausible” Israel is committing genocide.

In November, 25 Republicans signed a letter denouncing what they called a “deluge of pro-Hamas content” on TikTok. Republican senator Josh Hawley, meanwhile, said there’s “ubiquity of anti-Israel content on TikTok”.

Another Republican representative complained about the “raw news” young people were getting on the platform. Republicans control the house with a slim majority. And Biden has said he will sign the bill if it reaches him.

A Boeing whistleblower says that the 787 Dreamliner planes could “break apart,” prompting an investigation from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The whistleblower, Sam Salehpour, says he worked at Boeing for over a decade and that he submitted documents to the FAA showing that the fuselage can come apart in several places because the pieces are made “from different manufacturers, and they are not exactly the same shape where they fit together.”

One of the prominent doubts is whether President Faye will join the leaders of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso to form a confederation and the Sahel military alliance that are free from French and Western influence, exploitation, oppression and neo-colonialism.

Donald Trump Tries To Have It Both Ways On Abortion

In a “Meet the Press” interview, Trump called Florida’s ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy a “terrible thing.”

During a campaign rally in Iowa, Trump said GOP candidates shouldn’t be taking a hard line on abortion, and that without talking about exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, “it is very difficult to win elections.”

“This issue cost us dearly in the midterms, and unnecessarily,” Trump said.

But he has also called himself the most “pro-life president ever” and has made it a point to remind people how he paved the way for the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that ended Roe v Wade.

“Last year I was able to do something that nobody thought was possible. We ended Roe v. Wade,” Trump said. “I did something that for 52 years people talked, they spent vast amounts of money in fighting it, but they couldn’t get the job done. Fifty-two years they fought and they fought hard. They couldn’t get the job done. I got the job done.”

Trump’s efforts to muddy the waters reflect his ever-shifting views on abortion, and while it could help in the general election, it also sets him up for criticism from both Democrats and his GOP rivals.

“I don’t know how you can even make the claim that you’re pro-life if you’re criticizing states for enacting protections for babies that have heartbeats,” Trump’s closest rival, Florida Gov. DeSantis (R), told Radio Iowa, following the “Meet the Press” interview.

DeSantis signed a six-week abortion ban into Florida law earlier this year and appointed state Supreme Court justices who appear ready to uphold it.

“I think all pro-lifers should know that he’s preparing to sell you out,” DeSantis said.

Yet many of the leading anti-abortion groups are treading carefully, given Trump’s lead in the polls and status as the presumptive GOP nominee. They don’t want to burn any bridges, but they also don’t want to let his comments go unchallenged.

Patrick Brown, a fellow at the conservative Ethics and Public Policy Center, said he thinks Trump made a mistake in openly criticizing GOP-led states for going too far on abortion.

Brown said he understands that anti-abortion groups may be reluctant to respond, but they need to show a strength of conviction.

“I think the worry for pro-lifers has to be, if they if they let these comments slide without saying anything, then they’re kind of giving permission for other Republican politicians to to try to take that same tack, who don’t have Trump’s sort of unique stranglehold on a certain base of the party,” Brown said.

“It’s a delicate balance to walk, but I would say… it’s not prudent to let comments like this slide. These kinds of things need to be called out, whether or not it makes it easier to work with him down the line,” he added.

After the “Meet the Press” interview aired, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life Action, sent a letter to the Trump campaign seeking clarity on his positions,

“The pro-life vote is up for grabs,” Hawkins wrote, asking specifically for Trump to address his criticisms of the six-week bans.

“Heartbeat laws are far from terrible,” the letter stated. “They should be an absolute minimum for any Republican candidate committed to protecting many from death by direct abortion.”

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has said it will not endorse any candidate unless he or she publicly backs a 15-week abortion ban, which Trump has not done.

“We need a National Defender of Life who follows the consensus of Americans, not wastes time negotiating with the no-limits abortion Left which isn’t interested in compromise on this issue,” the group told The Hill in a statement.

Still, GOP strategists and activists think Trump has essentially closed the book on the Republican primary and is focused on the general election. But there’s an open question whether the former president’s attempts to paint himself as an abortion moderate will gain more voters than it alienates.

Brian Seitchik, a Republican strategist and Trump campaign alum, argued that Trump is clearly trying to target college-educated suburban women who voted for him in 2016 but not in 2020.

Iran Vows Retaliation Against Israel

At least seven people, including two high-ranking generals-advisors died to Israel's the strike on Iran's consulate in Syria on Monday, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israel's attack on Iran's General Consulate in Damascus will not go unanswered, President of the Islamic Republic Ebrahim Raisi has said.

"The Zionist regime [Israel] must bear in mind that it won’t be able to achieve its sinister objectives with such inhumane measures and will have to face the growing strength of the resistance front and also the free nations’ hatred and aversion to its illegitimate nature. This unfair crime won’t go unanswered," he stated, as cited by Tasnim news agency.”

On Monday evening, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported an airstrike by the Israeli Air Force on the General Consulate of Iran in Damascus. The building also housed the residence of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic to the SAR, Hossein Akbari, who was unharmed during the attack. The missile strike completely destroyed the consulate.

According to a statement by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran's elite military unit, seven IRGC officers were killed in the Israeli attack, among them two high-ranking generals-advisors - Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon, and his deputy, Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Hajizadeh.

In response to Israel's attack, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that it "reserves the right" to personally respond to Tel Aviv's airstrike and to determine how "to punish the aggressor."
