ProjectSupercar

The strip down on this Audi Twin Turbo donor car continues; on this episode we finally get it pushed into the garage and out of the rain. And then we remove the rear tailgate, ready for the interior to be stripped out.

This should be a nice simple job, shouldn’t it?

The engine from this donor car and other parts, are for my homemade Supercar. Although I have an interest in kit cars, including Lamborghini replicas, Ferrari replicas, McLaren P1 Replicas and other self-made kit car of other marques, like Porsche, Ford GT40 and the AC Cobra, I have always wanted to build my own unique brand, which I call the Cerberus VMR6.

Please subscribe and follow me along and see if I can ever complete my dream.

A quick look round a Lancia Stratos Marlboro Replica (Litton Corse), taking approximately 60 seconds or so.

Litton Cars was founded in 1989 by Steve Greenwood, and was located in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The basis was a semi-monocoque with many of the parts coming from a Lancia Beta. However various engines were used from Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, Renault, Rover and Vauxhall.

The one shown here was one of the first Litton Corse replicas built in 1989 and was constructed using parts taken from a crashed Lancia Beta HPE, using the 2.0i 8v TC engine. The project has spanned over 22 years!

Production ended in 1991 with about 45 cars being produced. Carson Automotive Engineering continued production from the same site, but with the new brand name of Carson.

If you are the owner, or even if you know anything about this car, please feel free to drop a comment and offer up some details. I’d love to know more about it.

Here’s part 2 of the cooling system; while editing this video it came to almost 30 minutes long, and that’s too long for the attention span on YouTube, plus you might need time to get yourself a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich on your lunch-break.

So we continue with how I built the cooling system of my DIY Supercar, go over why parts from the Audi A6 2.7T may not work, and take a look at the raw chassis before it was painted.

Keeping my DIY Supercar cool is important, and the science behind it is very complicated, but using a few short cuts we can fit our own cooling system to our DIY build, if we follow a few simple rules.

So I used many of the parts from my original donor car to build the cooling system on my Supercar, and it works!
