It was many moons ago but here is a little story that you might find interesting. In this video I discuss the CZ75 SP01 Phantom and a shooting competition in Plzeň Lobzy, Czech Republic; the birthplace of Pilsner beer. This is not so much a gun video as it is a gun story. I’d also like to recognize Warrant Officer 2nd Class Vratislav Louda for the inspiration to make this video.

WARNING - CONTAINS SCENES OF WW2 VIOLENCE - VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED
A WARRIOR'S STORY

During WW2 the ARAKAN campaign was the first real line in the sand drawn by Indian and British Divisions in the jungles of Asia against Japanese Imperial Forces. Jungle fighting is a very specialized type of warfare and the Japanese were very good at it. The British and the Indians however were not ready or trained to fight in the jungle environment.

Allied Forces suffered several years of misery and defeat at the hands of the Japanese until they learned to be jungle fighters. The ARAKAN represents the beginning of that transition. The Jungle, diseases & terrain ate men alive and then on top of that they had to defeat a well-entrenched Japanese enemy.

It was test of men and leadership and they prevailed.

This is the story of one man who was there.
Regimental Sergeant Major R.H. Kitson Royal Corps of Signals.
I am proud to call myself his Grandson.

I hope you enjoy the video (only available on BitChute)

In Arakan, Indian XV Corps under Lieutenant General Philip Christison renewed the advance on the Mayu peninsula. Ranges of steep hills channelled the advance into three attacks each by an Indian or West African division. The 5th Indian Infantry Division captured the small port of Maungdaw on 9 January 1944. The Corps then prepared to capture two railway tunnels linking Maungdaw with the Kalapanzin valley but the Japanese struck first. A strong force from the Japanese 55th Division infiltrated Allied lines to attack the 7th Indian Infantry Division from the rear, overrunning the divisional HQ.

Unlike previous occasions on which this had happened, the Allied forces stood firm against the attack and supplies were dropped to them by parachute. In the Battle of the Admin Box from 5 to 23 February, the Japanese concentrated on XV Corps' Administrative Area, defended mainly by a line of Royal Signal troops but they were unable to deal with the tanks supporting them, while troops from 5th Indian Division broke through the Ngakyedauk Pass to relieve the defenders of the box. Although battle casualties were approximately equal, the result was a heavy Japanese defeat. Their infiltration and encirclement tactics had failed to panic Allied troops and as the Japanese were unable to capture enemy supplies, they starved.

Over the next few weeks, XV Corps' offensive ended as the Allies concentrated on the Central Front. After capturing the railway tunnels, XV Corps halted during the monsoon.

PART IV (and the last) of this documentary video series will describe in detail the retreat of Imperial Japan and the unspeakable horrors and atrocities the British learned they were capable of.

If you survive you won't be the same afterwards.
Give yourself the best fighting chance.

There is a convenience and simplicity to the General Purpose Rifle.

It can't be too heavy - you won't carry it
It can't be too long - it gets hung up on stuff
The calibre can't be too large - you will start missing
It has to be reliable - your life may depend on it

Canada is voluntarily marching towards the point of no return.

The delivery system is a combination of political correctness + intimidation designed to silence honest conversation.

I thought Canadians were smarter than this and I thought our humanity and empathy for one another was on solid ground. The Liberal Party of Canada has surgically proposed and passed legislation designed to weaken their political adversaries in the liberty movement, resource and energy sectors. Not only is this well documented but the scope and magnitude of petitions against the Government of Canada is unprecedented. Provincial and Federal Leaders are attempting to address their disputes in the courts and the resources / cost of this is significant tax drain .

Canadians have become tolerant of the intolerable, lack spine, don't understand the consequences of hardcore socialism and have a warp speed sense of entitlement. The path is slippery and Canada is trying to stay on it's feet.

One of my views this morning in between sites. This steep incised valley is a short-cut available between mountain ranges. It is usually full of low cloud but today was free and clear. Beautiful views in all directions. This Pass is 'Beautifully Dangerous' so don't enter these valley bottoms in the winter. Today's avalanche hazard was low however it is normally quite the opposite.

The Vancouver Aquarium is one of my top places to visit when the opportunity arises. The abundance and variety of lifeforms there is truly miraculous and people walk away from this place enriched in so many different ways.

It is also especially important to me as a father to expose my boys to the wonders of nature in this way. Many of you DO NOT support detaining marine and riparian life forms within aquariums and I really appreciate why. I can't help feed sad watching those seals - they look bored and unchallenged to me. I know these animals very well where I live.

ANYWAY - I do argue that we can’t afford not to have places like this because if we do not teach people about terrestrial, riparian and marine life forms then we condemn humanity to ignorance. Human ignorance breeds poisoned environments across the planet and it is places like the Vancouver Aquarium that educates us away from that place - one person at a time.

Once people understand and respect the environment and the life forms within it then people will strive to conserve it’s integrity.

The Vancouver Aquarium has placed a huge emphasis on, not only conserving aquatic mammals and fish, but they have also invested considerably on presenting the marine environment itself. They have modelled as closely as I think possible the ocean floor and other habitats. So as you look through this streaming video look at each habitat environment within each massive marine display.

The Aquarium has over 50,000 animals from across the world to examine (if you can find them all). This impressive array of diverse specimens requires a curious and well-funded research group to study each animal, their habitat and then effect that ecosystem in a working display. This constant research and continuous improvement has made the Vancouver Aquarium globally recognized for excellence and leadership.

Expanding our understanding of the marine environment will save it (and us).

Respect for nature comes from understanding it and having well considered responsible fun within it. If I can at least pass a few pieces of this onto my sons then perhaps that knowledge will help them one day. As we move into the electronic age I worry about expanding human detachment from nature. This concern is largely vested in people who live in cities and are sufficiently detached to believe the radical environmentalist trumps the opinion of trained and experienced professionals. This is when political influence beats sound science and that always results in disaster.

In other words - sometimes a lot of sediment is a good thing for a healthy vigorous river system. The focus needs to be on avoidable erosion and sediment transfer. This slope is a natural phenomenon and isn't anything to be afraid of. Maple Leaf Up and thank you for your support.

This is the final rendition of this video but it's essentially a conversation of riparian exploration between a dad and his son.
