‘Total betrayal.’ Gun control activists react to Trudeau’s gun buyback scheme

Gun control activists in Canada reacted with “anger and dismay” on Tuesday to the Trudeau government’s proposed legislation to toughen the country’s gun laws, accusing the Liberals of backtracking on their promise to remove all newly blacklisted firearms from circulation.

In May of 2020, the Liberals announced a ban on the use, sale and importation of more than 1,500 makes and models of what the government refers to as military-grade “assault-style weapons.”

Bill C-21, presented Tuesday morning, introduces a buy-back program for blacklisted firearms, allows municipalities to ban handguns and increases criminal penalties for gun smuggling and trafficking.

“We will move forward with a buy-back program in the coming months and complete the prohibition to ensure these weapons cannot be legally used, transported, bequeathed, transferred, or sold,” Trudeau told a news conference in Ottawa.

Trudeau’s Toxic Gun Ban: No Buy-in to the “Buyback”

There is new evidence of problems with the implementation of the “assault weapons” ban imposed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on May 1st.

Readers will recall that under the Liberal Government’s scheme, over 1,500 firearms and devices listed in a government regulation immediately became a “prohibited” firearm or “prohibited device,” as did “any variants or modified versions.” Individuals in legal possession of these newly prohibited firearms or devices on the day the regulations were announced are protected from criminal liability arising from their possession or ownership, but this “amnesty” period ends on April 30, 2022.

Canada’s mandatory Covid-19 hotel stays are not ‘internment camps’ but they are costly forced detention

Since at least October 2020, some Canadians have been concerned about rumours of Covid-19 “internment camps.” In reality, there may be no barbed wire or gun turrets, but a number of travellers have experienced detention firsthand.

Last October, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked about this. His reply didn’t address the specific claim at hand, instead he spoke generally of “noise and harmful misinformation on the Internet,” and bizarrely urged people to resist “people who would sow chaos within our communities and our democracy.” (I shudder to think which foreign interference he imagined.)

Canada welcomed 184,000 new immigrants in 2020

New Canadian government data shows the country welcomed 184,370 new permanent residents in 2020 as newcomer flows fell due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This is the lowest level of immigration to Canada since 1998 when it welcomed just over 174,000 immigrants that year.

In March 2020, Canada’s Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino announced Canada would seek to welcome 341,000 new immigrants, the same level as in 2019. Days later, however, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Canada was compelled to impose new travel restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Biden’s Executive Order on Transgender Rights ‘Unilaterally Eviscerates Women’s Sports’

Hours after taking the oath of office, President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Wednesday giving sweeping “rights” to men and women who want to live as the opposite biological sex, including allowing these transgender individuals to compete in sports.

“On day 1, Biden unilaterally eviscerates women’s sports,” author Abigail Shrier posted on Twitter. “Any educational institution that receives federal funding must admit biologically-male athletes to women’s teams, women’s scholarships, etc.”

Biden pledges action on guns amid resistance

White House officials met last week with several gun violence prevention groups as they weigh how to move forward on an issue that has stymied Democrats for years.

The White House says President Biden is “personally committed” to action on an issue he has tackled many times in the past. Less than a month into the new administration, Biden officials are meeting with advocates backing reforms that Democrats have been pushing for in Congress, like strengthening background checks.

Biden won’t rule out gun control via executive order

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Tuesday that President Joe Biden has not ruled out using executive orders for gun control.

When asked if Biden still intended to use executive action on gun control – a vow made during his campaign – Psaki responded, “The president has a range of actions at his disposal … he hasn’t ruled out either of those options.”

Boy, 12, fatally shoots home intruder to save grandmother during robbery

A 12-year-old boy is being credited with saving his grandmother from two home invaders early Saturday, after he shot at them with a gun and fatally injured one.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday at a ground-floor apartment in Goldsboro, N.C., according to local police. Two masked intruders broke into the apartment and demanded that Linda Ellis, 73, turn over all her cash.

Police say the men threatened Ellis during the home invasion and ultimately shot her in the leg.

Seattle police report record-setting homicides in 2020

King County data found that more people were shot in the county in the first six months of the year than during that same time frame in the past four years.

Seattle homicides highest in over a decade as council cuts police budget

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan plans to sign a new city budget that will reduce the police budget by 18% despite homicides reaching record highs not seen in a decade.

Council members overwhelmingly voted last week to cut funds for police training, overtime and to eliminate dozens of vacant positions within the Seattle Police Department after months of contentious talks. The reductions fall short of the 50% local activists demanded amid nationwide protests against police brutality and racial injustice.

If Seattle is dying, here’s the cause of death

This year, Seattle became a key piece of evidence in the right-wing case against progressive cities. Fox News ran a story in June that quoted Assistant Police Chief Deanna Nollette saying businesses were reportedly being extorted for cash around a Black Lives Matter protest in Capitol Hill. Headlined “Crazy Town,” the story went viral along with photos of a city engulfed in flames and a man holding a rifle.

How Trudeau changed federal spending forever

The last time the Trudeau government brought down a budget two years ago, the projected federal deficit for this year was $19.7 billion, as opposed to $381.6 billion today.

Federal debt was projected at $725.1 billion, as opposed to $1.1 trillion today.

The Culture Of The Smug White Liberal

I have spent my life as a Democrat which probably isn’t that surprising considering that I am African-American. One of the things that always attracted me to the party were the ideals of equality, fighting for the little guy and our openness to differing opinions, but lately I have seen my party take a turn that makes me uncomfortable. Somewhere along the way we stopped fighting for the little guy and became the party of the smug, educated elites who look down on those with less education and deem them unable or unworthy of being able to make personal decisions for their own lives.

The health department website acknowledges the inequity saying “with already less access to healthcare and, more often than not, receipt of lower-quality health care than their white counterparts, Black/African American, Asian, and Hispanic/Latinx residents have more often tested positive for the disease, been hospitalized and have higher death rates due to COVID-19.”

Whistleblower: Coca-Cola Uses Antiracist Training That Tells Employees ‘Try To Be Less White’

Coca-Cola has used a training video by antiracist activist Robin DiAngelo that tells employees to “try to be less white,” according to “unwoke activist” Karlyn Borysenko based on information from what she says is a company whistleblower. Borysenko, who is also a psychologist, YouTuber, and creator of Zen Workplace, put a video of the training online. Borysenko often speaks out against critical race theory and corporate race training.

California lawmakers reach $6.5 billion deal to open schools

After weeks of tense negotiations, California legislators agreed Thursday on a $6.5 billion proposal aimed at getting students back in classrooms this spring following months of closures because of the pandemic. The proposed “Safe and Open Schools” plan would overhaul a $2 billion proposal from Gov. Gavin Newsom that was widely criticized by school superintendents, unions and lawmakers. The proposal unveiled by Newsom in December would have rewarded schools that reopened with additional funding for safety measures.

Entire California school board resigns after caught mocking parents over school reopenings

The president and three other members of a Northern California school board resigned Friday after reports that they made mocking comments about parents during a public video meeting about reopening schools.

The resignation of President Lisa Brizendine of the Oakley Union Elementary School District was confirmed to Fox News by Schools Superintendent Greg Hetrick.

The other members -- Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas -- who constitute the rest of the board, resigned later Friday, FOX 2 of the Bay Area reported.

Twitter loses $5 billion in market value after Trump is permanently barred from the platform

Twitter's stock price tumbled as much as 12% on Monday, erasing $5 billion from its market capitalization.
The tumble followed the social-media group's permanent suspension of President Donald Trump's account on Friday.
"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.

Left’s Great Stalinist Purge of All Our Freedoms

It began with Twitter shutting down Trump. Then Google & Apple shut off Parler and its owner and his family have had to go into hiding because of death threats from the left. Now Google and Apple are continuing their Great Stalinistic Purge of the Internet. They are shutting down any free speech they can under the pretense that anyone who voted for Trump is essentially now a terrorist. Minds was also an alternative Social Network and if anything allows free speech, they are now actively hunting them down. This is most definitely a global coup and we have to come to face the fact that not only was the election rigged, but it has also been an intended move toward authoritarianism because socialism can no longer be sustained. The vast majority will simply comply and that is the danger. How far do we go down this road of tyranny before there is push-back?

Job discrimination: 1 in 5 won’t hire Trump supporters

It’s not legal in most cases, and certainly not right, but 1 in 5 left-leaning bosses “will not hire” supporters of President Trump, and huge majorities of hiring managers want to know the positions job candidates have on highly controversial issues including race and immigration, according to a sweeping new survey.

What’s more, job seekers reluctant to cough up their views and positions in interviews can’t hide them because nearly all employers sift through social media posts, mostly Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, of those they are considering for jobs.

Minneapolis to spend $6.4M to recruit more police officers

Minneapolis is planning to spend $6.4 million to hire dozens of police officers, at a time when some City Council members and activist groups have been advocating to replace the police department following George Floyd’s death.

The City Council voted unanimously Friday to approve the additional funding that police requested. The department says it only has 638 officers available to work — roughly 200 fewer than usual. An unprecedented number of officers quit or went on extended medical leave after Floyd’s death and the unrest that followed, which included the burning of a police precinct.

Minneapolis backtracks on defunding the Police

With spiking crime rates, slow 911 response times and police officers leaving the force in droves, Minneapolis’ defund-the-police movement has crashed into reality.

Last week, Minneapolis said it will spend $6.4 million to hire dozens of police officers after having 200 fewer police officers available to work than in recent years, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. The police force began last year with 817 officers on the payroll, however, now have only 638 in their ranks in the wake of George Floyd’s death and resulting protests.

Children need to be in school

There's a wave of anti-intellectualism sweeping America. There are people across the country who deny evidence, invent their own facts, and live in their own fantasylands. We saw it in the Republicans who denied the reality of President Joe Biden's election victory, and see it now in the teachers unions that are shutting down schools and marring children's lives.

What are the facts when it comes to covid-19 and schooling?

Toyota’s Chief Says Electric Vehicles Are Overhyped

Toyota Motor Corp.’s leader criticized what he described as excessive hype over electric vehicles, saying advocates failed to consider the carbon emitted by generating electricity and the costs of an EV transition.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda said Japan would run out of electricity in the summer if all cars were running on electric power. The infrastructure needed to support a fleet consisting entirely of EVs would cost Japan between ¥14 trillion and ¥37 trillion, the equivalent of $135 billion to $358 billion, he said.

By his own definition, Biden is already governing like a dictator

“I have this strange notion, we are a democracy ... if you can’t get the votes … you can’t [legislate] by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus.”

Those are the words of Joe Biden. And, no, this isn't a matter of unearthing a clip from the 1980s or '90s in an attempt to play a game of gotcha on some antiquated flip-flop. That's Democratic nominee Biden, less than three weeks before the 2020 presidential election, talking to ABC News' George Stephanopoulos about the dangers of governing like a dictator.

Why Conservatives of All Stripes Must Unite in 2021

After 2020—a year with a deadly pandemic, a crushing economic shutdown, brutal riots, and a contested presidential election—it often feels as though things can’t get any worse.

Yet, the political left sees these very moments when the American people are overwhelmed and exhausted as opportunities to push its destructive agenda. It won’t stop promoting socialist climate policies, government-run health care, identity politics, racial division, bending a knee to our worst enemies, and penalties for offending the sensibilities of the woke.

As the threats continue to grow, Americans are feeling anxious. They’re worried about whether America will still look like America two years from now.

PM offering $75 million more in COVID-19 aid to Indigenous people living off-reserve

The federal government is increasing the amount of funding aimed at Indigenous people in Canada who are living off-reserve, adding $75 million to the existing Indigenous Community Support Fund, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Thursday.

On March 18, the government created a $305 million Indigenous Community Support Fund, which included $15 million for regional, urban and off-reserve Indigenous organizations.

The History of the Bible

The history of the Bible begins with the person of Moses, because we understand that the Pentateuch, the first five books of the entire Bible, were written down by Moses.

Over the centuries there are numerous different authors that write these things down.

The formation of the Old Testament was a centuries-long process—a long, slow development.

Super Bowl Ratings Crash to Lowest Level Since 1969, Least Watched Since 2006

The ratings for Super Bowl 55 are in, and the news is not good. The numbers show that viewership fell nine percent, making the game the lowest-rated Super Bowl in more than 50 years.

“CBS averaged 91.629 million TV-only viewers for the Buccaneers’ blowout of the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, the game’s lowest TV viewership since ’06 when Steelers-Seahawks averaged 90.75 million on ABC. That figure is down from just over 100 million TV-only viewers for Chiefs-49ers last year,” Sports Business Daily reported.

Jeep Gets Woke and Cancels Bruce Springsteen

Cancel culture just bit Bruce Springsteen in the ass big time. I’m sure he’s already been paid for his gig, so it’s more like Jeep got a bite taken out of their company. I imagine the ad execs who didn’t vet Bruce may be getting their papers to walk out the door sometime soon. Seems they’ve pulled their Stupor Bowel ad from ScrewTube. Maybe not a bad decision, but the cat is already out of the bag, so it’s a little late. Superbowl Halftime Flashes “Satan,” in Sinister Imagery Overload

Tom Brady was once again the star of this year’s Superbowl, winning his seventh NFL title in ten appearances. But internet buzz suggests Satan was the master of ceremonies at the big game thanks to a halftime performance that made up for mediocre music by a forgettable artist with plenty of sinister imagery and a more than subliminal homage to the devil that caught the attention of keen observers.

Gone apparently are the days of subtle occult symbolism of say, professed devil whore Katy Perry riding a red-eyed mechanical “Beast” into the arena across a masonic chessboard of black and white squares, or even Madonna’s “priestess of darkness” headdress complete with the eye of Osiris and Luciferian hand gestures. Or, even Janet Jackson’s bared breast. Tame. Passé. Bourgeois.

Suicide Rate Keeps Rising Among Young Americans

A nearly 60% jump in suicides by young Americans since 2007 has experts alarmed and somewhat puzzled.

Suicides among children and young people aged 10 to 24 rose 57% from 2007 to 2018, according to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The increase in youth suicide has been pervasive across the U.S. No area is immune,” said report author Sally Curtin of the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics. “Hopefully, these data will inform prevention efforts.”

The surge was broad: 42 states had statistically significant increases between 2007-2009 and 2016-2018. Eight had statistically insignificant increases. Thirty-two states had hikes of 30% to 60%.

In actual numbers, the suicide rate among 10- to 24-year-olds jumped from about 7 per 100,000 in 2007 to nearly 11 per 100,000 in 2018, according to the National Vital Statistics Report published Sept. 11.

They were homeless, now they’re dead

Last year, 1,383 people experiencing homelessness died in Los Angeles County
On the first day of 2020, the unresponsive body of Corinna Ortega, a Latina woman, was discovered by a friend in a tent in Parnell Park in Whittier. The coroner would rule that Corinna, 22, died of a fentanyl and methamphetamine overdose.

That same day, Sean Austin, a 46-year-old white man, was found dead at 4 a.m. beneath an overpass in Wilmington. He died of an overdose, this time due to methamphetamine and alcohol.

Los Angeles Homeless Count Results

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority released the results of the 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, which showed 66,436 people in Los Angeles County experiencing homelessness, Friday. This represents a 12.7% rise from last year’s point-in-time count. The city of Los Angeles saw a 16.1% rise to 41,290.

The report captures a picture of homelessness in Los Angeles County as it was in January 2020, the time of this year’s Homeless Count, and before the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic could be felt, measured, or responded to through efforts such as Project Roomkey, rent freezes, and eviction moratoriums.

Are Media COVERING UP Justin Trudeau’s Destruction Of Democracy In Canada?

From the first week Justin Trudeau began his run as PM— late October, 2015– Cultural Action Party of Canada sensed that Trudeau was going to be trouble for our nation.

At this nascent stage, it was difficult to tell what form the subsequent damage would take on. A few of our early premonitions were:

The demise of English Canada. An increase in the reach of communist China into Canada. The advancement of Islam within society. An erasure of national sovereignty. Punitive damages toward Anglophone Canadians. Transitioning political control to the United Nations. The decimation of democratic governance in Canada.

Justin Trudeau is destroying Canada from the inside out

(American Thinker) — To adapt a phrase from Matt Margolis, Justin Trudeau is the worst prime minister in Canadian history. Like his American counterpart Barack Obama, he is both a know-nothing and a do-nothing leader and an unmitigated disaster to the well-being of his country. For example, Trudeau's unconscionably late and incomplete response to the COVID-19 pandemic — the "19" tells us it has been known for quite some time — much like Obama's delayed response to the H1N1 pandemic of 2009, and his determination to keep an illegal border crossing open, is only the latest of his ill-gotten political escapades.

Trudeau’s Great Reset/Agenda21 Plans for Canada

Trudeau is the most corrupt, narcissistic, treasonous, putrid, lying, condescending, Canada hating, terrorist loving piece of garbage Prime Minister in Canadian history (besides his father). I hope he is brought to justice for his crimes against the Canadian people and his crimes against humanity. Here’s another post I did with lots more info on him as well as Chrystia Freeland and their puppet-masters George Soros and China:

Trudeau’s “Great Reset” plans for Canada in his own words:

Is this leaked email by an anonymous person at the Prime Ministers 0ffice really Trudeau’s crazy COVID plan for 2021? You decide. All I can tell you is it is not confirmed has gone viral- nobody has yet to debunk it. Email dated October 10/2020

Michelle Rempel Garner Says Canadians Must “Fight Back” Against Trudeau’s “So-Called Reset”

In the wake of the large-scale backlash against Justin Trudeau’s remarks about exploiting the pandemic to push a “reset” that Canadians never voted for, Conservative Health Critic Michelle Rempel Garner is slamming the idea.

In a video, Rempel Garner says Canadians must “fight back” against Trudeau’s “so-called reset,” and says the only reset Canada needs is a “new Prime Minister.”

“For Natasha – a single mom I met last week – and everyone in my community, Trudeau’s so-called reset of Canada has been devastating and we need to oppose it.”

Why beat around the bush. California government schools curriculum, teacher’s tolerance of everything but the Constitution, freedom, free speech and religion. Unions control the classroom and government agencies. Oakland has seen a week-long strike—with the general public not noticing or caring.
High taxes, policies’ to end the use of cars in the State, crumbling pension systems, illegal aliens protected and honest citizens denounced, all part of the new totalitarian State of California. Try saying in a Cal or UCLA classroom you think Trump is a great president—watch how quickly the riots ensue, the Administration claims it is hate speech. Communism has many forms—California is but one of them.

“Unelected boards make decisions about transportation and housing. In the San Francisco Bay Area, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) mandate policies that can bring about high-rise, high-density housing (often called stack-and-pack housing).

A world without news: Papers publish blank front pages to highlight industry struggles

Canadians got a taste of what the world would look like without a robust journalism industry Thursday morning, as multiple newspapers published blank front pages.

“Imagine if the news wasn’t there when we needed it,” read the message on the blank front pages.

“If nothing is done, the journalism industry will disappear.”

The award for government incompetence goes to

With the Oscar awards around the corner, it is time to determine who won the award for the world’s most incompetent government in 2020. With a former drama teacher as its prime minister, could we expect anything less than an outstanding performance from Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

Popular National Post columnist Rex Murphy provides his endorsement:

It’s a mess. It’s a shambles. It’s an embarrassment. It is the worst ever by any reasonable measurement.

Judging by their performance on the most important files, the current bunch in Ottawa would need to hire a consultant to figure out how to get wet in a thunderstorm, and set up a task force to study how to tie their own shoes.

Trudeau accuser lands a seven-figure NDA to keep quiet about West Grey departure

Sources are telling The Buffalo Chronicle that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s accuser has been in talks with a private attorney for more than a week, discussing a heated sexual relationship that began and ended more than 18 years ago, when the young woman was a student at Vancouver’s prestigious West Point Grey Academy. The Chronicle is told that the two engaged in a months-long affair beginning in the summer of 2000, both on and off-campus.

That non-disclosure and an accompanying non-disparagement agreement were signed last night, according to the source, for more than $2.25 million CDN.

List of scandals and missteps involving Canada's Trudeau

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose Liberals are in deep political trouble after the emergence of a photo of him in brown face, has experienced a number of scandals and missteps since taking power in November 2015.

“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.” — Leo Tolstoy, The Kingdom of God is Within You (1894).

It’s not hard to find people who are ignorant of other people’s beliefs. All you have to do is watch man-in-the-street interviews. A good portion of the population is ignorant of a whole host of topics. Even students at some very prestigious universities are more familiar with the latest Kardashian event than with what’s happening with ISIS, or is it ISIL or just IS? I doubt that the majority of them would know the distinctions.

So it shouldn’t be surprising that Liberals don’t have an accurate picture of what conservatives are generally all about.

Trudeau wants to turn back clock on free speech

Federal Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault plans to introduce legislation and regulations this year to “protect Canadians online” when using social media.

“We intend a comprehensive approach with the tabling of a bill in early 2021 that will apply to the various platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.),” according to a briefing note from his department on “Regulation of Social Media Platforms” to “promote a safer and more inclusive online environment.”

“Social media platforms,” it continues, “can … be used to threaten, intimidate, bully and harass people, or used to promote racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, misogynistic and homophobic views that target communities, put people’s safety at risk and undermine Canada’s social cohesion or democracy.”

The Trudeau Family’s Multi-Decade Admiration Of China

The Trudeau Family of Quebec— Pierre as patriarch, as well as sons Justin and Alexandre Trudeau— have been surrounded by a teflon wall of public protection for over forty years.

This couldn’t have been accomplished without establishment media complicity— in particular, government-funded media “partner,” Canadian Broadcasting Corporation(CBC).

We begin at the beginning— the day Pierre Trudeau became prime minister of Canada in the year 1968. It was at this time that a fundamental change in immigration policy occurred— a move to a “points system” approval method for migration to Canada.

Canadian Gun Owners Reject Trudeau’s Gun Ban: Anti-Ban Petition Sets Record, Gathers Over 230,000 Signatures

Earlier this year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a sweeping ban and confiscation plan on over 1,500 commonly used firearms. The good news is that Canadian citizens are fighting back. As Fox News reported, a Parliamentary e-petition to reverse the gun ban (petition number “e-2574”) has closed and been certified with 230,905 signatures, making it the most popular petition ever in Canada by over 55,000 signatures.

“We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to immediately scrap his government’s May 1, 2020, Order in Council decision related to confiscating legally owned firearms and instead pass legislation that will target criminals, stop the smuggling of firearms into Canada, go after those who illegally acquire firearms, and apologize to legal firearms owners in Canada,” reads the petition.

“Nikita Khrushchev Prediction Speech,” shared by Dr. Jane Campbell

A little over sixty years ago since Russia ‘s Khrushchev delivered his message to the UN on his prediction for America .

Stalin Planned America’s Collapse — It’s Underway

“America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: it’s patriotism, it’s morality, and it’s spiritual Life. If you can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.” — Joseph Stalin.

Joseph Stalin made the statement above about America was made seventy years ago in Moscow. What Stalin had in mind, I experienced seventy years later in America, when immigrating in 1981. And I am horrified, because Stalin’s design has almost come to fruition in 2019 due to this incredible “achievement” of the KGB. I am emphasizing the significance of the KGB, because it represents Russia today and I am using the term KGB meaning the entirety of Russian Intelligence Services. The Ukrainian scandal is an intimate Russian one.

Self Defence: A Pro-Gun Strategy

Canadian gun owners are slowly digging our own graves with our timid, apologetic approach to gun rights. Most Canadian gun owners, and most Canadian pro-gun organizations, have utilized a sporting purposes only argument in support of civilian gun ownership. Self defence has become a taboo topic. This reticence is a huge blunder. By failing to actively promote handgun ownership for self defence, we leave ourselves tongue-tied at the most critical juncture in the gun control debate: the aftermath of a mass murder.

The march towards civilian disarmament has followed the same pattern in nearly every English speaking nation. Pro-gun and anti-gun forces generally battle to a draw until there is a mass murder involving firearms. After a massacre has taken place, outraged citizens will grasp at any solution, regardless of how limited its chance of success. It is at these times the gun grabbers have scored their greatest victories.

British gun prohibition laws were enacted in 1988 as a response to the Hungerford massacre in 1987, then again last year as a result of Dunblane. In Canada, C-17 and C-68 can both be traced back to Ecole Polytechnique. The impetus for C-51 in 1977 was an incident in which a student ran amok with a rifle in a school. The recent Australian ban on semiautomatic rifles stems from the Port Arthur massacre. Earlier Australian legislation resulted largely from two mass murders which occurred in Melbourne in 1987. The 1992 amendments to the New Zealand Arms Act, which restricted access to military look-alikes, were the government's answer to the Aramoana massacre in 1990.

This pattern has been repeated so many times you would think gun owners would have recognized the pitfalls by now. We have not. Time and time again we are drawn into the same debate. Time and time again we offer the same ineffectual arguments. Time and time again we lose, and the noose is pulled ever tighter around our necks.

RCMP Union Echoes CSSA Position on Liberal Gun Confiscations

November 24, 2020

On Monday, The National Police Federation (NFP), the union representing 20,000 RCMP members, slammed the Liberal government’s gun ban by Order in Council in its position statement “Gun Violence and Public Safety in Canada”.[i]

“NPF calls for funding that enables law enforcement to properly address crime prevention rather than the ongoing monitoring of unrelated restrictions on licensed and regulated firearms owners.
“NPF calls for legislation that effectively addresses crime reduction, gang diversion, safe communities, secure borders, Canadian enforcement agency integration, and cross-border safety of the public and all police officers.

Biden revokes Keystone XL Pipeline permit: Panders to activists and ignores economic benefits

Estimated to support 11,000 U.S. jobs in 2021 and generate $1.6 billion in gross wages, the $9 billion energy infrastructure project is well-positioned to be a lifeline to labor unions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, not to mention the state and local government coffers that stand to benefit from nearly $140 million in annual property tax revenues along the pipeline’s route.

The stakes extend beyond American borders, too. If completed, the project would transport 830,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska, and is intended to expand critical oil exports for Canada, which has the third-largest oil reserves in the world.

Kenney calls on Trudeau to push for financial, economic reparation amid cancelled Keystone XL

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is continuing to advocate for the federal government to act in the wake of the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Trudeau calling for economic reparation and financial compensation.

In a letter posted to social media Friday morning, Kenney called the U.S. administration's cancellation of the pipeline "a clear violation" of investor-protection provisions in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

"The United States is setting a deeply disturbing precedent for any future projects and collaborations between our two nations," Kenney wrote in the letter.

‘What We’re Seeing Here Is the Green New Deal, Basically Dressed Up in Executive Orders’

President Joe Biden in issuing executive orders on climate change essentially “drew a target on the back of American energy and then he pulled the trigger” and “killed the Keystone XL pipeline,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said Thursday.

“President Biden in his inaugural address talked about unity, and by the time he got to the White House, that got thrown out the window, and he picked up his pen, and he drew a target on the back of American energy, and then he pulled the trigger. He killed the Keystone XL pipeline, and he’s killing energy jobs all around the country by stopping additional leasing for oil, gas, coal, all around America,” he said in an interview with Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.”

Trudeau refuses to apologize or take any responsibility for decision to nominate Julie Payette as governor general

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refused to apologize or acknowledge any responsibility for his decision to nominate now former Governor General Julie Payette, who resigned Thursday after a report found she helped create a “toxic” work environment at Rideau Hall.

During a press conference on Friday, Trudeau dodged repeated questions from reporters about his responsibility in the disastrous and unprecedented end to Payette’s tenure as Governor General, as well as the adequacy of the vetting process that failed to note similar issues she caused at previous workplaces.

Taxpayers will continue to pay a fortune for Julie Payette

And Canadians have not finished paying for the astronaut’s reign, despite his resignation. She will be able to receive a pension of $ 143,000 per year for the rest of her life.

Mme Payette will benefit from security that costs taxpayers $ 7.4 million annually.

She had also claimed, during her reign, $ 250,000 to build certain doors and a staircase to avoid the eyes of a few colleagues. The construction was never completed, but it still cost taxpayers $ 100,000.

Will western Canada separate?

Canada is a deeply divided country. Western alienation is at its worst point in our history and for a the first time, separation has become a digestible idea to many Canadians. Alberta is particularly alienated as it serves as the province that contributes a great deal to the country’s economy, but is often not treated with respect.

The energy sector is seemingly a major component of the alienation. Albertans are losing their jobs in oil and gas due to environmental goals set by the Trudeau Liberals. Nonetheless, while Albertans are seemingly stifled due to their “draconian” sources of energy, Canada continues to import Saudi oil and urban Liberal Torontonians can’t tell the difference.

Survey suggests Sask. residents want Western Canada to separate

49% of Westerners say the federal government has become virtually irrelevant to them

A recent survey suggests Saskatchewan residents think Western Canada would be better off if it separates from the rest of the nation.

The Environics Institute polled 5,732 people online, across all Canadian provinces and territories, from December 2018 to January 2019.

In Saskatchewan, 53 per cent of respondents agreed with the statement, “Western Canada gets so few benefits from being part of Canada that they might as well go it on their own.”

Google and Facebook got growing share of federal ad dollars after Justin Trudeau took power

Google and Facebook received a growing share of the federal government’s advertising budget after the Trudeau Liberals took power, as Ottawa quadrupled how much it spent each year on ads from the American web giants between 2015 and 2019.

Responding to questions from the Star, Public Services and Procurement Canada provided figures that show the federal government spent at least $3.9 million advertising on Google and Facebook in 2015-16, the first fiscal year after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals took power.

The pandemic helped the rich get richer — and destroyed the finances of many

The bifurcated economy that took shape in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic destroyed the lives, savings and small businesses of innumerable Americans, but the year wasn’t a financial washout for everyone.

Between roughly mid-March and Dec. 22, the United States gained 56 new billionaires, according to the Institute for Policy Studies, bringing the total to 659. The wealth held by that small cadre of Americans has jumped by more than $1 trillion in the months since the pandemic began.

Pandemic Panic To Usher In The UN’s 2030 Agenda Ten Years Early

Sustainable Development, aka Technocracy, is the endgame of the global elite who want control over all resources on earth, including people. The “Great Panic of 2020” has been weaponized to create the biggest economic coup in the history of the world.

I would again note that control over political structures is incidental to control over all economic functions. When Technocracy prevails, elected politicians of all stripes will be summarily dismissed and engineers and scientists will run the world directly. For citizens, this is the essence of scientific dictatorship: there is no need for representative government because systems will be run autonomously via algorithm.

Johns Hopkins Retracts Article Saying COVID-19 Has ‘Relatively No Effect on Deaths’ in U.S.

The article claimed that “in contrast to most people’s assumptions, the number of deaths by COVID-19 is not alarming. In fact, it has relatively no effect on deaths in the United States.”

Wait, what? Really?

That’s what it says. And, it should come as no surprise that the article was retracted within days.

Luckily, a back-up copy remains on The Wayback Machine, and we can still read it.

Erin O’Toole’s decision to issue a 595-word statement on Sunday about his political beliefs suggests he’s at least a little worried about his public image.

And he might have good reasons to worry. But the question of what kind of conservative Erin O’Toole wants to be is still difficult to answer.

“If the Liberals want to label me as ‘far right,’ they are welcome to try,” O’Toole said in a statement sent to reporters Sunday morning. “Canadians are smart and they will see this as an attempt to mislead people and import some of the fear and division we have witnessed in the United States.”

The “extreme right” allegation was contained in a fundraising email the Liberal Party sent to its supporters last week. The message was part of a week-long effort by Liberals to link O’Toole’s party with the Trumpian style of politics. The Conservative Party had, for example, previously accused the Liberals of “rigging” the last election. O’Toole, the Liberals noted, campaigned for the party leadership on a pledge to “take back Canada.”

Federal Conservatives rule out working with right-wing Rebel News

The federal Conservatives decided to no longer engage with Rebel News, hours after an e-mailed interview exchange between Leader Erin O’Toole’s staff and the far-right outlet was published.

Mr. O’Toole’s office participated in an interview with Rebel News on Mr. O’Toole’s behalf. After it was published on Monday, Mr. O’Toole’s office said it would no longer respond to the controversial group and the Leader would not do interviews with them either.

The new policy revives one held by former Conservative leader Andrew Scheer and is in-step with other major political parties. In the summer of 2017, Mr. Scheer said he would not do any more interviews with the Rebel until it changed its editorial direction. The tipping point was the Rebel’s sympathetic coverage of racist white-nationalist protests in Charlottesville, Va.

MP Derek Sloan booted from Conservative caucus for ‘destructive behaviour’

Controversial MP Derek Sloan was kicked out of the Conservative caucus Wednesday, a move party leader Erin O’Toole said was due to a “pattern of destructive behaviour” that had become a distraction.

O’Toole’s acknowledgment that Sloan’s dismissal was not solely over a donation he’d taken from a white nationalist came after hours of heated debate within caucus that saw MPs castigate both Sloan for his record and O’Toole for how he’d handled the issue.

Sloan said he will now sit as an Independent and will continue to fight for conservatives voices.

Joe Biden’s ‘harmony’ is curiously divisive

It is a truism that while it takes much time and patience to build up a civilization, those achievements can all be undone in a moment.

The administration of Joe Biden seems bent on testing that proposition. On his first day in office, ‘C’mon Man’ Biden issued a spate of executive orders — 17 in all, if you are counting — aimed at undoing the legacy of President Trump. It was all ‘hello Paris Climate Accords, goodbye policing the borders.’

Two executive orders in particular caught my attention, one shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline, the other shutting down the 1776 Commission and removing its report, issued just two days before America’s first armed-camp inauguration, from the White House website.

A China-based firm scored a $1B N95 mask contract with California. A document trove shows how.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom held back details from the public and lawmakers about a $990 million state N95 mask contract with a China-based firm scrutinized by Congress.

But now, a trove of 848 pages of documents is available to the public, obtained by government watchdog group Judicial Watch. The documents provide details on how the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services selected BYD to make 300 million face masks for protection against COVID-19, a virus that originated in Wuhan.

Earlier this year, state legislators tried to press Newsom to provide details about the deal, as one senior Democratic lawmakers called the deal "murky."

The troubling reason why Biden is so soft on China

In 2013, then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden flew aboard Air Force Two to China. Less than two weeks later, Hunter Biden’s firm inked a $1 billion private equity deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. The deal was later expanded to $1.5 billion. In short, the Chinese government funded a business that it co-owned along with the son of a sitting vice president.

The Democrats Are in Bed with China, Literally

The most shocking thing about the recent news story that flatulent Russiagate hoaxer and American-nuking enthusiast Rep. Eric Swalwell was caught intertwined with a Chinese honey pot is...well, actually nothing about it is shocking. This is totally on-brand for the Dems and especially this particular clown. It’s not clear how far he got with this Democrat-diddling doxie, but the best case for Swalwell is that he was a fool who couldn’t see how unlikely it was for a DC 8 (and real world 5) to want anything to do with him other than as a mark. The worst case is that he eagerly betrayed his country for a roll in the rice with this Beijing bimbo.

Biden Kills Thousands of Jobs, Hurts Environment, and Harms Relations With a Close Ally on His First Day in Office

Joe Biden used an executive order to kill the Keystone XL pipeline permit on his first day as president. The move, which was expected because Biden said he would do it, drew sharp criticism from Texas, where the pipeline would have ended in the Houston area.

How Biden’s 7 Economic Goals Will Destroy The US Economy.

Let’s look at what’s actually in Biden’s economic plan so everyone has their eyes wide open when they vote. Regardless of Joe’s past economic positions, the rapidly mentally declining 77 years old politician has been surrounded and endorsed by far-left activists including AOC & Tom Steyer who are guiding him to adopt their hyper green agenda.

Biden's 'open border' policy threatens economic, national security: Border patrol chief

Prior to President Trump's visit to the US-Mexico border Tuesday, the Border Patrol chief warned of the cost of President-elect Joe Biden's proposed reversal for immigration policy.

Mark Morgan, Acting Customs Border Patrol Commissioner, told FOX Business' "Mornings with Maria" that if Biden stops building the border wall "it's going to be part of a dangerous policy that's in place and our country will be less safe because of it."

"If you take away the ideologic, hyperbolic false narrative that's out there, that infrastructure works," he explained, "along with technology and personnel, and every single measure of success improves because of that and our borders are more secure and our country's more secure."

Most new Order of Canada appointees are white men, despite diversity-boosting efforts

Most of the new appointees to the Order of Canada in 2020 were white men, despite some progress made in boosting the diversity of the elite group.

Of the 175 people picked for the prestigious civilian honour last year, just over one third were women. About 7.4 per cent were members of visible minorities — up two per cent from the previous year – and 5.1 per cent were Indigenous, according to analysis by immigration and diversity researcher and former government official Andrew Griffith.

Velma Morgan, chair of Operation Black Vote Canada, called those figures "extremely problematic."

The “Participation Trophy” generation

A new study from the libertarian magazine Reason this week carried with it a pretty striking headline:

"65% of Americans Say Millennials Are 'Entitled,' 58% of Millennials Agree"

It seems that we have an entitlement issue with out young adults -- an issue even those young adults wholly admit to.

But perhaps nothing betrays this point like the following chart. Reason and pollster Rupe asked Americans whether kids who participate in youth sports should get trophies just for playing, or only for winning. A strong majority of Americans (57 percent) said only the winners, but then you look at the age breakdown.

Don’t Let the Race Baiters Divide Us

The America that I love, with all its warts and blemishes, voted for a black man to be our president 8 years ago and welcomed a black family into the White House. The America that I love, with all its faults and failings, reveres the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King and regrets the legacy of slavery and segregation. That same America is being torn apart today by race baiters and race agitators. We must not let them divide us.

We will always have racists and haters in our midst. We will always have provocateurs who feed on discord and strife. We will always have those who call for separation and division.

Lockdowns — For the Masses Only, Not Elites

It’s been obvious for months that "Wufluenza" lockdowns have been good for government bureaucrats. These "public servants" haven’t missed a single paycheck, while millions of taxpayers have lost their jobs and been thrown on the tender mercies of the unemployment bureau.

Many government bureaucrats are now working from home, far from the prying eyes of supervisors, and others are in the office but spared the inconveniences of dealing with the public, because the public is banned from those same offices.

Now we learn in California government bureaucrats have not only been getting their paychecks while taxpayers do without, the bureaucrats have also been getting their workouts while the rest of us are being conscripted into the couch potato army.

Sun-soaked vacations show why Albertans need recall legislation

Albertans have every right to hate the hypocrisy coming from United Conservatives who locked the province down and decided to vacation abroad.

The government just plunged Alberta into its second lockdown. Families spent the holidays apart. Businesses shut down and some may never again open their doors. Many workers are taking pay cuts to help keep businesses afloat and many are losing their jobs.

Although UCP politicians are urging Albertans to “stay home save lives,” we now find out that political staffers, MLAs and at least one minister have been travelling abroad.

Why Justin Trudeau Is A Perfect Choice For A Betrayal Of Canadian Society

Within its 153-year history, Canada has always been thought of as a democratic society. Democratic theory advances the concept that the will of the public is an essential component for the decision-making of a ruling government.

Unfortunately, when applying this to over five years of the leadership style of Justin Trudeau, a sad state-of-affairs is revealed.

In a similar capacity to his father before him, three term Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, our current PM eschews public opinion in favour his personal belief system.

In terms of specifics, Pierre Trudeau had a certain “complex” regarding the founding of Canada. His issue was “colonialism”— the usurping of First Nations land by European colonialists.

A ‘broken’ system: Canadians can’t afford lawyers but don’t qualify for legal aid

Legal experts say the justice system is failing Canada’s working poor, many of whom are unable to afford lawyers and end up pleading guilty or representing themselves in court.

All Talk, No Action! Canada’s civil legal (is calling it a “justice” system a lie?) system is broken (corrupt more like it)

Canada is consistently touted as one of the best countries in which to live, but it ranks an unimpressive 112 out of 190 countries according to the World Bank’s enforcing contracts indicator. For good reason: Our civil-justice system is on the fritz.

Litigating a civil claim (e.g. contract claim, property rights claim, etc.) can take many years and cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The “Pronouns” you can’t say in Congress

The House of Representatives hopes to rewrite the rules of congress in-favor of diversity. A step towards this was proposed by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and would remove specific terms like “male” and “female” in reference to a person’s genetic makeup and replace them with one that are gender-neutral.

No longer will individuals be referred to as “he” or “she”, but rather a generic term like “person” or “human,” if you will. This comes as more transgender and non-binary congressional candidates are being elected around the country. Pelosi cites the changes as a way to “make adjustments that reflect society’s evolving views on sexuality and gender identification.”

UN Agenda 2030: A Recipe for Global Socialism

Agenda 2030, touted as a solution to everything from poverty to global warming, is really a plan to empower a global governing body.

The United Nations and its mostly autocratic member regimes have big plans for your life, your children, your country, and your world. And those plans are not limited to the coercive “climate” agreement recently concluded in Paris.

California’s vaccine plan will prioritize Blacks and Latinos, among others. Here’s why

Take a look at California’s COVID-19 caseload maps, and it’s easy to spot where rates are highest: in some of the state’s most diverse and low-income communities.

The virus has ravaged urban centers like Los Angeles, infiltrated rural Imperial County and flooded the farmlands of the Central Valley.

But COVID-19 does not claim its victims equally. Latinos make up 40% of the Golden State’s population, but 60% of its COVID-19 cases and 48.5% of its deaths. Only 6% of Californians are Black, but 7.4% of COVID-19 deaths.

Now, as California plans to distribute an eventual vaccine to its nearly 40 million residents, the state intends to prioritize early rounds of the shots in the name of fairness for these communities disproportionately affected by the disease.

It’s not just race under consideration. The state is in early planning stages, but data like death and infection rates, along with housing status, age, economic stability, health care coverage and ethnic backgrounds could all play a role in who might be among the first groups to get vaccinated, according to the California Department of Public Health’s draft vaccination report.

New Law Requires Diversity on Boards of California-Based Companies

In a move that continues California’s push for increased diversity on corporate boards, Governor Gavin Newsom on September 30, 2020 signed into law a bill that requires publicly held companies headquartered in the state to include board members from underrepresented communities. The action follows passage of a similar law in 2018 mandating that public companies headquartered in the state have at least one woman on their boards of directors by the end of 2019 (SB 826), with further future increases required depending on board size.

The law significantly expands on the diversity categories included in the legislation as originally proposed (see our prior coverage of the draft legislation here).

Companies that do not comply with the new law, AB 979, will face similar penalties as those noncompliant with SB 826, the gender diversity law: fines in the six figures, in addition to ramifications to their brand and reputation. As with SB 826, the new law contains some open questions and ambiguities that may affect implementation.

Trudeau government’s ‘buy back’ gun program likely a multi-billion boondoggle

In his mandate letter to Public Safety Minister Bill Blair (pictured above), Prime Minister Trudeau gave the highest priority to prohibiting and confiscating “military-style assault rifles.” And this week, during a federal cabinet retreat in Winnipeg, Minister Blair reiterated the government’s commitment to the plan.

This program is being called a “buy back,” but actually it’s a mandated confiscation of legally-purchased firearms for which the government will compensate owners at a rate the government deems “suitable.” Only owners who can document their legal ownership will be compensated, and non-compliance will be a criminal act. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon is punishable by imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

Majority of UCP voters say Kenney must fire snowbird MLAs, 41% of Albertans say he must resign

A Mainstreet Research poll commissioned by the Western Standard says Albertans are far from satisfied with Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s handling of the ‘Snowbird MLA Scandal.’

A total of 41 per cent of Alberta respondents say Kenney, former Minister Tracy Allard, and the six backbench snowbird MLAs should all resign, including 21 per cent of those who voted UCP in the 2019 election.

Another 27 per cent of respondents say Kenney’s actions to date don’t go far enough, and that he should fire Allard and the six other MLAs from the UCP Caucus. In fact, more UCP voters support the option of firing just the minister and MLAs (31 per cent) than Albertans at large.

In the wake of revelations of at least one pro-lockdown minister, six MLAs and several senior staffers found vacationing oversees, Kenney initially declined to discipline any of them, but increasing political backlash led Kenney to fire Allard from cabinet and issue relatively minor penalties to the MLAs. All seven MLAs continue to remain full members of the UCP Caucus.

Wildrose leader says independence movement is on the rise

The poll, conducted last week by Mainstreet Research showed 25 per cent supported Alberta independence, and 36 per cent supported Western independence.

Wildrose Independence Party Interim Leader Paul Hinman is hailing the results of a Mainstreet Research poll conducted exclusively for the Western Standard as evidence that the Alberta independence movement is on the rise.

The poll conducted last week showed 25 per cent of all Albertans favoured independence, and 36 per cent backing the broader concept of Western independence; figures that Mainstreet President Quito Maggi said have never been higher in the 10 years he has polled the question.

New COVID-19 testing rules for travellers to Canada to begin Jan. 7

Anyone arriving in Canada starting Jan. 7 will need to have a negative COVID-19 test before boarding a flight, the federal government said Thursday as the Liberals urged vacationers abroad to prepare.

Flyers aged five and up will need have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of their scheduled departure and must show the results to their airline before they board their flight.

Travellers who receive a negative test result must still complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon their arrival in Canada.

Either before or upon arrival, travellers will have to provide a quarantine plan for federal officials to review. If officials aren't satisfied, the government said people will be required to quarantine in a federal facility.

The statement that came hours before the start of 2021 said Canadians vacationing abroad should immediately start arranging for a COVID-19 test to avoid delays in coming home.

Recall effort against California Gov. Newsom passes 1M signatures

A grassroots recall effort against controversial California Gov. Gavin Newsom has collected more than 1 million signatures. Just nine weeks remain to get the final 500,000 signatures needed to force a Special Recall election, campaign leaders said.

“The people are being heard loud and clear, and it is not a matter of IF we are going to reach our goal necessary that will trigger a recall election of Newsom, it is just when we cross the finish line,” said Orrin Heatlie, the Lead Proponent of the official RecallGavin2020.com.

Video Clearly Shows What Liberals Actually Think About Black People

Filmmaker and journalist Ami Horowitz took to the streets of Berkeley, California to find out exactly what liberals think about black people. Spoiler alert: they think an entire group of people, based on their skin color, is incapable of doing the minimum of tasks required to live in a civilized society.

Horowitz then traveled to Harlem, New York and asked black people if any of these white liberal’s assumptions were correct.

Click below for the cringe-worthy footage:

What Life Will Be Like When the Democrats Win the 2020 Election

With no legal obstacles, the Democrats will be free to implement whatever they desire. The radical Democrats running for President are amazingly consistent in what they are calling for. Here is a short list:

Confiscation of privately owned vehicles.
Extreme climate change taxes placed upon the people. These taxes will be embedded into existing and future homes and when the homeowner cannot afford the taxes, they will forfeit their property. This will create the nation's largest slush fund in which the Democrats will fund single payer health care and free health care for all illegals.
We will see the reintroduction of preferential hiring for minorities in new affirmative action plans. Only this time around, the country will pay homage to illegals as they will go to the front of the line. It is about to get very expensive to be a citizen.

Canada’s coronavirus restrictions could last years even with vaccine: top doctors

Even if the global race to find a coronavirus vaccine succeeds, many of the restrictions aimed at managing the pandemic will likely need to remain in place for years, say Canada’s top doctors.

In a briefing with journalists Tuesday, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam warned against basing all hope for a return to normalcy on the creation of a vaccine for the deadly virus.

“We’re going to have to manage this pandemic certainly over the next year, but certainly it may be planning for the longer term on the next two to three years during which the vaccine may play a role,” said Tam, whose comments come as new polling suggests some are wary of the potential shot.

Are Democrats the Party of Science? Not Really.

Almost two years ago, on a chilly February afternoon in Washington, D.C., Republican Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma took to the floor of the United States Senate, skeptically muttered a few things about rising global temperatures, then threw a snowball. His point, if you can call it that, was that since frozen water vapor still exists in nature (in winter no less), climate change must not really be happening. Or something.

Combined with decades of anti-intellectual posturing and pernicious legislative attempts to hobble science education in America, outrageous displays like this, whether born out of willful ignorance or duplicitous political maneuvering, have rightly earned the GOP the title of anti-science party.

Canada begins vaccinating inmates in federal prisons with no active coronavirus cases

The first 40 federal inmates to be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus in Canada were given their inoculations inside facilities without any active cases, Global News has learned.

That’s despite a number of prisons seeing outbreaks that have led to conditions that advocates call inhumane, while others also wonder why correctional officers aren’t being prioritized.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) began its vaccination pilot program for prisons Friday, with four federal institutions set to administer a combined 1,200 doses of Moderna’s vaccine in the coming days — enough to eventually inoculate 600 inmates.

Canadian Cop Threatens to Tase Hockey Player ... 'Get on the F***ing Ground!!!'

Cops in Canada descended on an ice skating rink, arrested a player and threatened to tase him ... and it was all captured on video.

Calgary cops claimed the game defied the law limiting outdoor team sports to 10 participants, with 2 meters separating them. There were 40 people at the game ... thus the violation.

Two of the officers approached one of the players, who ignored their orders to get on the ground. One of the cops knees the player, but he stays upright.

Why lockdowns alone won't save us from the pandemic

Lockdowns can control outbreaks of COVID-19, but only as long as public tolerates them

The prospect of locking society down again the way we did in the first wave of COVID-19 — and the collateral damage that comes with it — is daunting.

The financial devastation on businesses forced to close and lay off employees, the increase in mental health issues, the halting of elective medical procedures and the continuing risks to essential workers on the front lines all factor in.

Keeping society functioning and supporting devastated sectors of the economy while limiting the spread of the coronavirus is key to navigating the pandemic until a safe and effective vaccine is here.

But experts acknowledge there is growing resistance to some of the restrictions that highlights a need to manage the public mood as the pandemic rages on.

You arguably could not find a more politically charged term right now than "lockdown," since everyone has a different, personal idea of what it is.

Martial law in Canada: Raw footage from Quebec’s new COVID curfew

Premier of Quebec, Francois Legault, has introduced a COVID-19 curfew to help reduce the province’s rising case numbers. It went into effect this past Saturday Jan 8th. Measures include an provincewide curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with exemptions for essential workers.

All “non-essential” workplaces and businesses including restaurants and gyms will be closed. The fine for breaking curfew will be $1,000 to $6,000. If you or anyone you know are issued one of these fines please head over to FightTheFines.com and we will fight your fine.

Masks for cows aim to filter burps to curb greenhouse gas emissions

A company has developed a burp-catching device for cows in hopes that the invention will help curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The U.K.-based startup ZELP — or Zero Emission Livestock Project — claims that its burp-catching masks will help slow the spread of greenhouse gas emissions, a key component in the force of climate change.

The mask is a muzzle-like contraption that monitors the percentage of methane being released by a cow. When the monitor detects an excessive amount of gas, it then converts the methane gas into water and CO2 and releases it from the device.

Cattle farmers Francisco and Patricio Norris designed the device to help slow down the processes of food digestion without the interference of feed additives that are commonly used, but are also a main driver in gas in their gut.

The tens of thousands of white people who rioted at the U.S. Capitol were reclaiming white supremacy

Let it be remembered that it was white people who were allowed to breach the U.S. Capitol during a joint session of Congress, white people who broke the building’s glass windows and rummaged senators’ desks, white people who laid violent siege to the seat of American democracy, white people whose attacks led to Vice-President Mike Pence being evacuated and white people’s violence that put the senate and house chambers on lockdown.

Tens of thousands of white people. Armed white people. Confederate flag-waving, QAnon poster-bearing white people.

Mostly maskless rioters on a day when the U.S. hit 21 million cases of COVID-19.

They weren’t just white people engaging in democratic protest. “An insurrection,” president-elect Joe Biden called it.

Whom are we kidding? What we witnessed today was an assertion of white power, a Trump-pumped MAGA crowd staking claim to power without care for facts or truth.

'Unacceptable': Canada public health employee took a trip to Jamaica, paid by Air Canada

The president of the Public Health Agency of Canada says it is “unacceptable” that one of the agency’s managers ignored advice andvacationedin Jamaica last fall.

Iain Stewart says although the trip taken by Dominique Baker in November was not related to her work for the federal agency, its employees are expected to heed the public health advice not to travel.

Baker has now removed a blog post from her personal style blog and videos from her Instagram account about an all-expenses paid trip she took to an expensive resort in Montego Bay in November.

But not before her bosses were alerted to the trip, amid a slew of stories about politicians and health officials ignoring the warning not to travel while theCOVID-19 pandemic continues to rage.

MLA Yao claims stress made him fall off the grid in Mexico

Tany Yao has apologized for being an MIA as the media and his party searched for his whereabouts.

The Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo MLA was one of 10 UCP members and senior staffers who jetted out of the province for warmer climes despite the province being in a full lockdown and health recommendations saying people should avoid non-essential travel.

But matters were made worse in Yao’s case when he went off the grid in balmy Mexico.

When the UCP snowbird scandal broke, suntanned MLAs and staffers quickly caught flights back to wintry Alberta. All, except, Yao, that is. The premier’s office could not find him for several days.

“I let my guard down with the discovery and release of the vaccine,” said Yao in a text message to the Fort McMurray Today, in which he claimed he had just turned on his phone.

I worked with kids from ages 3 to 13 and saw the brainwashing that exists at all levels of education. The left uses a combination of propaganda and suppression to push kids into the ensnaring grip of socialism and anti-patriotism.

First is the propaganda. Teachers will assign work instilling the idea that the pillars of Western civilization were evil, and their memories deserve to be thrown in the trash.

Trudeau government to spend more than $88M on COVID-19 ads

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government is planning to spend more than $88 million to get its message out on everything from health advice to government programs related to COVID-19, CBC News has learned.

That’s on top of money that government departments have already budgeted for communicating with Canadians on other issues.

In fact, the $88.7 million the government plans to spend this year on communications and marketing related to COVID-19 is more than its annual budget for all subjects combined over the past decade.

Five Times Google Was Caught Red Handed on Bias and Censorship

Could Google swing an election? A string of leaks over the past four years suggests the tech giant has gone above and beyond to suppress conservative, independent media and the Trump movement.

Twitter has attracted much attention in recent weeks for its brazen, highly visible acts of censorship, including the ongoing censorship of the New York Post, and its repeated censorship of tweets from President Trump.

But Google’s bias, while less visible recently, stands to have a bigger impact on the 2020 election. As Breitbart News again highlighted last week, the company has erased Breitbart News results on Google search to the point where verbatim searches for the site’s headlines do not return results on Google search.

Americans Bought Approximately 21 Million Guns in 2020, Sales up 73%

At this point in December it is already apparent Americans bought approximately 21 million guns this year, an increase of 73 percent over the number purchased in 2019.

ABC News quotes figures from The Trace to report the estimated 21 million guns sold and claims the buying surge is the result of a “perfect storm” consisting of “the pandemic, economic recession, civil unrest and a divisive presidential election.”

They spoke to a mother of three named Trish Beaudet, who explained she has never owned a gun before but is now buying one for herself and one for her 25-year-old daughter.

Beaudet said, “I’ve never owned a gun. I’ve never wanted a gun. I’ve never had a gun in my home.”

She then pointed to the chaos in the streets and on the news, lamenting:

California Legislators Propose 0.4% Wealth Tax, Plus 16.8% Income Tax Rate

Not shocked yet? The newest tax some golden state legislators want to collect is a .4% wealth tax. The “leader” in state taxes already, this would be first-in-the nation wealth tax targeting the very wealthy. This isn’t on income they earn, mind you, but on their wealth itself. A summary of the bill says, “AB 2088 establishes a first-in-the-nation net worth tax, setting a 0.4% tax rate on all net worth above $30 million.” California Assembly member Rob Bonta, D-Oakland, proposed the legislation. The tax would be applied to the net worth of about 30,400 Californians, “raising approximately $7.5 billion annually,” the summary claims. “The tax takes into account all assets and liabilities held by an individual, globally, capturing the immense levels of accumulated wealth held by the top 0.1% of Californians.”

Overdose deaths outnumber COVID-19 deaths more than 3 to 1 in San Francisco

Drug overdose fatalities in San Francisco this year outnumbered COVID-19 deaths by a 3 to 1 margin, as deaths related to the powerful painkiller fentanyl rose.

In 2020 alone, 621 people have died from drug overdoses in San Francisco, while the number of coronavirus fatalities were 173, The Associated Press reported.

According to local reports from the San Francisco Chronicle, the city’s Drug Overdose Prevention and Education (DOPE) Project used Narcan this year 3,000 times from January to November to save people who nearly died due to an overdose of fentanyl or related opioid abuse substances.

Justin Trudeau and the Dismantling of Canadian Identity

Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, is a man with a vision for his country. What remains unknown, however, is whether or not Canadians share this vision.

Thus far in his tenure, Trudeau has been far more explicit about what he does not want for Canada than he has been regarding the kind of nation he envisions for our future.

One thing he does not want, as publicly stated shortly after taking office, is a Canada based upon “national identity.” This bold assertion, in effect, tells us Trudeau does not believe in a Canada defined by a national heritage developed over 148 years of history.

Trudeau Liberals’ fiscal update puts Canada on path of debt and stagnation

There was widespread, bipartisan support for large-scale financial support for Canadians amid the China Virus pandemic.

For example, before the Liberals had proposed sending out money to Canadians, I was calling for everyone to get $2,000 quickly, to prevent an economic collapse as the economy shut down.

Trudeau Liberals spending Canada into a massive hole

Canadians who have a hunch — because a hunch is all they’ve got to work with — that the Trudeau Liberals have been spending like spoiled, entitled legislators with no real idea how many billions they’ve sent out the door are unfortunately dead on.

The Trudeau Liberals’ spending is off the charts.

Study: Electric Cars Can Actually Do More Damage to Environment Than Diesel Engines

Another study has called into question the environmental benefits of electric vehicles, citing the amount of carbon pollution emitted when making lithium ion batteries.

Depending on where it is manufactured, an electric vehicle can emit more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than an efficient conventional car, according to data compiled by Bloomberg New Energy Finance and Berylls Strategy Advisors.

The problem centers around the development of lithium-ion batteries, which largely power electric vehicles.

It takes significant energy to manufacture these batteries, and the process can actually mean more carbon pollution is released if it’s manufactured in a country heavily reliant on fossil fuels.

A Las Vegas local shares how the city is handling holiday festivities during the pandemic

A city usually known for bright lights and booming nightlife is a lot quieter this holiday season due to COVID-19. Last year, according to Statistica, Las Vegas welcomed 43 million visitors. But this year, for the start of the holiday season in October, tourism occupancy was down to just under 2 million for the month.

With less tourism and a new convention and visitors bureau motto of “Stay Safe, Stay Open,” you may be wondering what practices Las Vegas has implemented to keep its tourism-dependent economy open for business this holiday season.

Here’s an overview of what safety measures you can expect in Las Vegas for the holidays.

Media Elites, Not Trump Supporters, Are Disconnected From Reality

With the end of Donald Trump’s presidency fast approaching, we’ve seen a surge of columns and posts asserting that Republicans and Trump supporters have lost touch with reality. After four years of marinating in “falsehoods” and “disinformation”—a term that really just means “information I don’t like”—Trump’s backers are all turned around, we’re told. They believe much that isn’t so.

David Brooks of The New York Times explains that these poor saps, most of whom, he says, are uneducated, uncredentialed people who don’t live in prosperous cities, have retreated to conspiracy theories to explain their misfortune and unhappiness. “People in this precarious state are going to demand stories that will both explain their distrust back to them and also enclose them within a safe community of believers,” he writes. Trump, QAnon, and Alex Jones “rose up to give them those stories and provide that community.”

Breathtaking Systemic Corruption During This Election

It's time for us to get mad.

This is what I came to conclude after spending the last several days puzzling over what we are seeing in the 2020 election. When Callista and I left the White House at 3 a.m. Wednesday I was confused by the various things that were going on and I couldn't quite figure out how to emotionally or intellectually deal with it.

How Democrats’ Attacks On The 2020 Election’s Legitimacy Set The Stage For Revolution

Democrats have been masters at messaging for decades. They focus on a single idea, they and their corrupt allies in the media magnify and propagate the idea, and then they all repeat it endlessly until it is accepted as fact. The idea Democrats are pushing today is that before voting has even begun, the 2020 presidential election is illegitimate.

Why are Democrats working to undermine the election, rather than working to win it? On the chance that President Donald Trump is re-elected, they are attempting to veto the vote and bring about revolution in America.

How Justin Trudeau Applies China’s Communist SOCIAL ENGINEERING Tactics Within Canadian Society

One fundamental difference within democratic and communist societies can be found within the spectrum of “demography”— the mix of ethnic and religious community populations within a particular society.

When observing historical dictatorships of modern history, we find a common phenomenon. For example, take the communist nation of China. In specious terms, if the government of China do not like a specific faction of society, they maintain an ability to decimate said community.

Likewise for individuals deemed “problem citizens” by government. Journalists who publish what the ruling politburo do not approve of will be thrown in jail. The European legal theory of “habeas corpus” — right to a fair trial–does not exist in China.
