A Light Feet Yurt set-up is one hour by myself in camping.mode. With one other person a half hour! This one week long Yurt Workshop was productive. Five new yurts were built with lumber milled from trees that burned during the Camp Fire. More importantly everyone who participated not only learned the skills to build yurts, but at the same time making their own shelter for the upcoming winter.
The Yurt Workshop is helping to rebuild and recover from the Camp Fire using long term sustainable skills. With a focus on hands on learning starting with salvaging trees and saw-milling lumber on site and participating in yurt building skills that provide temporary shelter for Camp Fire Survivors. Fast and simple to build, portable yurts provide emergency shelter and can be the first step towards rebuilding and recovery from the Camp Fire.
