These are 2 very common Russian/Soviet manufactured grenades found in use around the world. They must be prepped before use unlike US grenades.

Immediate action drill for reacting to either fixed wing aircraft or rotary wing. Engaging enemy aircraft is not part of this drill.

This is an ambush tactic for use in large open areas such as rice paddies or grassy fields. It is meant for a platoon sized or larger element. This is because of the chances of smaller elements being overrun with fewer avenues of escape.

How could/should you do training for your unit if you never served in the military and have no clue. Don't spend all your time at the range and neglect the other tasks that are just as important.

Now all the tasks from the previous videos are put together as a platoon. At the end will be the simulated battle showing how complex obstacles work to shape a battle.

This is the first task performed when putting in any minefield. You need to find the location, site it out, and mark it for the row or mines. You MUST have 2 landmarks for helping locate the locations of the rows of mines. All the information collected in this phase is entered in the Minefield Report documents. Remember you must be hyper-accurate so no mines are missed during removal.

The Fratricide Fence or Frat Fence is meant to stop friendly troops from entering a minefield.

Ground is frozen so you can't bury cache tubes and barrels. They kind of draw attention when left out on the ground or exposed. You still want to put out caches but what can you use and still might be able to hide.

This video explains some about the mine dump located near the minefield when it is being emplaced.

This is what I could gather up for emplacing the IOE rows when it is called for on a minefield. Not all minefields have IOEs according to doctrine.

When assigning replacements first fill special positions like leadership, special skills, and trained equipment/weapons crewmen. Then try to even out the teams/squads/platoons to have them filled to a similar strength in numbers.

Recruiting continues if not intensifies during the war. But how could it be done?

This video tells how to put in a Lazy-W row. It is almost the same as the straight rows but there are safety considerations for when maneuvering the vehicle inside the minefield when emplacing mines.

In this tactic you fire 2-3 rounds at a suspected enemy position to get them to either return fire or move giving away their exact location. When done at night untrained and scared enemy soldiers will open fire quickly giving away their exact position. Use a minimal amount of fire to draw them out at night. Enough to scare them but not so much they just call for indirect fire on your positions. Move right after firing those shots and have people employed as spotters who do not fire and mark down the positions and details. Then later you can move forward and take out that position silently. That was a version the Japanese used brutally efficiently to locate positions in WW2.

In this video I give a squad battle drill of how a row of landmines is laid in a row minefield according to US doctrine. This battle drill was designed for a 9-man engineer squad. If you are using 10-man squads then place your 10th troop where they are most needed. If you are surface laying the mines (not burying them) your diggers can be split up with 1 as an additional armer and the other on the laying team. To fill 250 meters of the row you need at least 42 antitank landmines spaced 6 meters apart. We usually carried 49 mines for each row during emplacement. In case a mine would not arm we replaced it with one of the extras we carried. The leftover mines after completing the row are returned to the mine dump. Some of the arming wrenches and safety pins or clips should have been kept back at the mine dump for any returned mines (the excess over 42 mines). If the mines are removed years later they will usually be destroyed anyways so being a couple clips or pins short would not be a huge problem. If a unit comes in and removes the mines for reuse after the battle they will destroy any mines they do not have clips, pins, and arming wrenches for.

The videos that will be posted will cover areas such as field gear, field craft, engineer tasks, and equipment needed to accomplish those tasks. The government seems to fear veterans. It is because we have the knowledge and experience to take a rag tag group of people and turn them into a competent fighting force. I will try to do my part to pass on my knowledge to help those that are willing to make a stand for our Republic if or when the call comes.
