Architectural clients are often concerned that they do not understand the construction drawings (“Blueprints”). This animation shows both an office tenant improvement with interior design and an office-warehouse exterior design. This work was done using a relatively affordable visualization software that is unique to architects at SSA Architecture in the Las Vegas area. This kind of animation can be used for zoning and land use cases. Some clients have hired us to provide this work to enable their staff to visualize the outcome and to get internal approvals for plan layout and financing. SSA Architecture, Small Studio Associates, LLC is an architectural practice in Las Vegas Nevada. We design office interiors, ground up buildings, office warehouses and other types of commercial projects. SSA also offers land use approval assistance, city processing, building department processing, health department approval processing and interior design.

During 2016 Ken Small Architect decided to install a solar photovoltaic system on his house. This seemed like good timing because a prior solar industry boom had run up the cost of solar installation in Las Vegas dramatically. Changes to the local political climate in Nevada have recently driven down costs while panel efficiencies have improved. When the system was installed and operational, Ken decided to make these videos detailing his experience and decision making process as he felt that it was both a financial success.

During the design and installation process of the solar PV system, Ken gathered information and photographs of the items involved in this video series. This first part discusses some background information on the decision making process.

Some of the work was done by the homeowner, Ken Small, who is an architect. Other work was done by professionals. Each step in the PV installation process was detailed.

Ken Small, Architect, SSA Architecture, Small Studio Associates LLC and their associates are neither designers of residential solar systems not installers nor vendors of any products. This series is offered only for personal entertainment and enlightenment purposes. If you choose to follow any of the practices shown, do so at your own risk.

SSA Architecture, Small Studio Associates, and Ken Small Architect are architectural practitioners located in Las Vegas Nevada. We are currently licensed to practice architecture in Nevada, Arizona, California, and other jurisdictions.
