Never give up. The most powerful three words ever uttered by man and more importantly the most important words ever uttered by Saint Meeks. So what does it mean to never give up? Is there even a context for it? More importantly, the former inkwel and now ascended Swedish Lord Never Give Up has recently made known that his wife is pregnant...although skepticism is warranted he has actually been making fun of and dismissing very sensible takes...because he has lost the plot. Here, a breakdown of why his example is not actually relevant to any man with a comparable set of circumstances.

How many times during the culture wars have you heard the term, "peak woke" to signify that we are just around the corner from the beginning of the end of wokeness only to be "surprised" a week later but the next woke thing that was even woker than the last. Locus of control has become an interesting topic in recent years, specifically in how it has been applied to inkwells and similar such people but it is not limited to them. It is applicable to essentially everyone but I am primarily interested in how malleable it is and what ultimately leads to external vs. internal locus of control. I would suggest it is no coincidence that some people tend towards one rather than the other and that it is deeply tied to the Matthew Effect as well as inherent personality traits.

As art and artistic creation in the form of film and games is becoming increasingly ideological a great loss accompanies this trend. Art of course serves no objective purpose but rather serves the subjective feelings of the individual and interacts with receptivity of the viewer, listener or player. The ideological takeover of virtually every formerly artistic endeavour prevents the ability to connect to art because, simply put, it is no longer art.

The misapphrension of the inkwell phenomenon is not unique to inkwells but rather part of a broader trend and feature of human beings being stuck in their own heads and limited in their ability to perceive things beyond their own experience. This is particularly pernicious when it comes Inkwells because the category they are in affords them virtually every disadvantage possible when looking at them from the outside but as stated, this is not unique to inkwells and cuts across every facette of human existence.

Over the years I have heard and seen people bristle at any suggestion that human beings might be animals, in no way fundamentally different from other animals. We are indeed different but it is a question of degree not separate categories. Why do they deny this? Therein lies the rub. Why would people deny our nature? About ten years we began to see a radical shift in the quality and more importantly the tone and tenor of modern games. They increasingly began to depart from the vision of making art and entertainment and moved in a ideological direction, captured by what we have come to know as wokeism. I argue this pretty much corresponds with the coming of adult age of millennials and the departure and reduction of generation X as the stewards of entertainment. Having imbibed and consumed the fumes of the internet and its ideological diet, the younger generations are likely doomed to bring us ever more of this rot...and it will continue to get worse.

A few weeks ago a well known streamer and YouTuber Mitten Squad passed away due to alcohol abuse. As if it were that simple, Mitten Squad's death was all the more the tragedy because he had been afflicted with multiple strains of misfortune, quite literally cursed by the gods on multiple fronts. During his life he achieved a fairly decent status online through his channel but ultimately it amounted to very little and it was clear that he was very depressed and unhappy. Status is only meaningful when there is a social context for it and the internet does not really provide that.

Having grown up steeped in the mystique of the near magical properties of the Constitution and especially those of freedom of speech largely due to a certain type of indoctrination, it has become apparent in recent years that we have seen less and less support for these things, making manifest what the constitution always was, a mere piece of paper that is only as valuable as people believe it to be, which is to say that few people care much about it these days and it is showing.
