The L - sit is a static hold in calisthenics where the body is held in an 'L' shape.
This movement comes from gymnastics and is a great way to build core, tricep and hip flexor strength!
Here is a step by step breakdown of L-sit progressions:
1. Learn to lock your arms out
2. Practice tuck holds (bent legged L sits)
3. Use resistance bands to assist a straight legged L sit
4. Try an unassisted L sit!

Liquid chalk is a rapidly drying liquid paste that helps enhance grip. It’s used in sports such as gymnastics, rock climbing, weightlifting and calisthenics. Fitness practitioners rely on liquid chalk to prevent slippage of the hands. Liquid chalk keeps athletes doing what they love for longer!
Liquid chalk is made from magnesium carbonate, a white powder that absorbs fluids, and alcohol. Upon application the alcohol evaporates and the powder absorbs any residual liquid, creating a reliable white coating on the hands. This layer lasts longer and more completely covers the hands than the application of regular chalk.
Our liquid chalk products come in convenient bottles that are easy to travel with, and that perfectly seal the liquid chalk, preventing it from drying and making a mess. The secret to sporting success is infallible grip, try our liquid chalk for yourself!

This video compares kipping and strict muscle ups, in collaboration with Rolando from California

When first learning the muscle up it's common to use momentum to get on top of the bar. This is not ideal, and many calisthenics practitioners consider this 'dirty' or 'kipping' technique.
Not only is it cheating and potentially dangerous technique, but these types of muscle ups are not counted in a competitive environment.
For strict muscle ups you need to:
1. Keep the legs straight and together
2. Don't allow the hips to generate momentum
3. Minimise arching through the lower back
4. Stay close to the bar when pulling up
5. Use a small swing
Kipping muscle ups are usually the result of the muscle up being too difficult. This is why resistance bands are a great tool for anyone learning the muscle up. They allow for good technique by making the skill more achievable for new comers.

Rebuilt from the ground up, Street Workout is a modern alternative to the gym. We believe in keeping physical conditioning raw and untouched by corporate fitness.
Hybridising street movements originating in Eastern Europe with elements of the most exceptional disciplines, including gymnastics, calisthenics, breakdance and yoga, we have attuned our interpretation of Street Workout. Street Workout has been stripped to the bone, and from this lean founding beast we have raised a behemoth!
With only the body and the bar, we establish a regiment that not only will make you incredibly lean and strong, but that will give the freedom of movement that can only be achieved through complete body awareness.
