Time Lapse, Vol. 4: Thunderstorm
Date/time: 10 Aug 2020, 19:06–20:13 EDT
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
Camera: OnePlus 6T (1080p @ 30 fps)
Audio: "Rescue Team" (track from Windows 10 Video Editor)
Speed: 32x

The video stops shortly after it started raining, because the camera refocused on the water droplets on the window, and refused to refocus on the weather outside. Moral of the story: I need to get a real camera, and not rely on my phone for these videos.

An interesting note: at [1:55], you can see some decent looking SCUD and a nice shelf cloud. Sadly, nothing exciting (like a strong gust of wind) followed it. We just got some heavy rain, and that was it.

Time Lapse, Vol. 3: Cumulus
Date/time: 28 Jul 2020, 12:30–15:30 EDT
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
Camera: OnePlus 6T (1080p @ 30 fps)
Audio: "Distant Ocean" (stock track from Windows 10 Video Editor)

The picture starts tilting toward the end. It was hot outside that afternoon, and I think the heat of the window combined with the direct sun started to loosen the camera mount. I didn't actually mean to let it record that long, but I was working and forgot it was there. ^_^;

Captured from 14:21 to 16:56 EDT on Monday, 20 July 2020 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. View is looking west-southwest at an upward angle of about 25 degrees. Audio track is "Anodized" from Windows 10 Video Editor.

This is another experiment to learn more about camera settings. The raw video was captured at 30 fps and 1080p. The uploaded time-lapse is also 30 fps at 1080p. I used Windows 10 Video Editor to put the raw videos together and speed up the time, so I don't know about any other specifics—the application didn't give me a lot of information.

Toward the end of the video, my camera kept refocusing itself between the clouds and the window. I'll need to find a good setting on the camera and lock it next time, so it doesn't try to change the settings automatically. But hey, that's what experimenting is all about, right?
