Tactical Considerations
Lights for for intermediate to longer ranges are built quite a bit different. Streamlight Makes the Protac HLX which Cloud Defensive has improved upon with the LCS system. Cloud took the Protac and made an integrated wire management and pressure pad mount for defensive applications. This makes the Protac a better kit from Cloud but also doesn't go crazy on price.

The HEX red dots are the in house brand from Springfield Armory. We all know the big names in the industry Trijicon, Vortex, Holosun but its nice to see more offerings. HEX currently has two models the Wasp and the Dragonfly. The Hex dragonfly is a full size pistol version that has a single manual switch with auto shut down. The Wasp version of the HEX is fully automatic with no settings needed. I did find an issue with the was LED being a bit slow to refresh.

Inforce WMLX Gen2 White Or IR Light For Distance on your rail or even a mountian bike although you probably will not need IR on your trail rides. Inforce has tried to mold a streamlined, high power and functional light with the WMLX. This light has 700 lumens and 400mW of IR light if you are one of those cool guys with quad night vision. Although the gen2 WMLX has 700 does not sound like much this light is not meant to be the flame thrower the Modlites or the Cloud defense lights are. The best part about the light is the one and done design onto any 1913 rail with no need for pressure pads or extra stuff. It has an integrated switch to move from white to IR and a flop over lock so you don't accidentally activate it. There is strobe if you are into tactical disco and a manual lock out by turning the cap 1/4 turn on the WMLX.

Rise Rave 140 is one of the best AR triggers under $150 on the market today. Rise Armament makes several variations of drop in triggers than range in price, pull weight and design. The Rise Rave 140 is the entry level drop in trigger and comes with the Anti Walk pins. This means you don't have to worry about setting tension screws or pins walking. A dab of loctite or vibratite and you are good to go for the long haul. A Rave trigger can be had for about $129 as of the filming of this video and takes only minutes to install. Sig and CZ have some great offerings in the strike fired world. The Sig RXP X full is one of my favorites to take on the range. The CZ P10F is a full sized hammer than begs to get some action as well. These two are very similar in size, bore axis feel and overall performance. There are some glaring differences whoever. The Sig has a big beavertail where the CZ does not. The CZ flat out came with a better factory trigger in my onion but the upgraded X series trigger on the Sig is nice compared to other stock P320's. Functionally they have run flawless on all ammo types from practice to self defense. The optics mounting sturdiness goes to sig for the direct slide mount, however if you want to run anything besides a DPP or Sig Romeo 1 Pro you need an adapter so kinda a pain.

Cz's P10S is another addition to the P10 family in a more compact package. The P10S is a subcompact but its not exactly as sub as some others. CZ has a reputation for being a bit larger in its categories than other stuff in the striker market. Coming in at nearly the size of a Glock 19 the P10S is a bit of a thicc girl. All that aside the P10S has a great trigger out of the box, is optic ready and comes with night sights. It has interchangeable back straps so you can customize fit to your needs and ergonomically its much flatter than others on the market. Packing 2 twelve round magazines in the box it is a contender if you are looking for something slightly smaller than a Glock 19, M&P compact or HK VP9.

Smith's 2.0 CORE is the latest offering for the masses in the optics ready world. Now the CORE system has been around for a while but it was generally in the usually more expensive custom shop only versions. This is the production line of the 2.0 with the CORE or Competition Optics Ready system. The plates come with it. The major brands and screw patterns are represented in the included plates. The trigger in the new 2.0 does fee a bit better in my option that my other 2.0 I have owned for a few years now. The grip has the sandpaper texture many of us like and the angles more like a 1911 for those who like a less aggressive angle on the grip.

The RM2 I a 1000 lumen light with a solid candela rating of 10,000 The light is a slimmer design, basically looking like like a stretched out TLR-7A. Boogeyman Excommunicado Trigger Making John Wick Proud of the Glock 34. This Boogeyman customs trigger comes with a highly polished connector, trigger bar and custom tuned trigger spring. The pull weight is vastly reduced with this kit due to the connector and the Trigger spring. Boogeyman did a great job on this but be vigilant that you don't put in a reduced striker spring with this kit or you may get some reset failures. Basically don't mix and match parts. The shoe of the Boogeyman trigger is skeletonized and has a great flat face where the trigger safety sits flush.

Apex Sig P320 Trigger taking the P320 to the next level. Apex Tactical has been a staple in the trigger market for years now and they continue to excel in doing what manufacturers don't. The Sig P320 trigger is not bad out of the box and the X series Sig has a better than average trigger. However Apex decided to take it to the next level and that they did. With a wide face for tons of finger contact and a thing blade design Apex managed to make the trigger look really nice and be extremely minimal. In the P320 standard model the Apex sig trigger will reduce pull weight, take up and resent by a good percentage. If you have the X series Sig the differences will be in the take up and reset, however you will not see a drop in pull weight.

Zaffiri precision has made some of the nicest looking barrels for Glocks and sigs on the market. Not all barrel blanks are the same and what many doesn't understand is there are a few companies that make the blanks and them they are sold to make finished barrels out of. Companies like Zaffiri finish these barrels to an extremely nice degree. This threaded barrel for the Sig P320 X Carry is a perfect example of when machine work is done right. From the polished chamber and bore to the crown out front the finish work is exemplary. The slab fluted design is a very nice touch along with the clean ZP logo and 9mm marking on the barrel hood. I ran 115g, 124c and some steel cased ammo through it at the range. After all the reason for an aftermarket barrel is for a compensator, suppressor or to run leaded ammo through. Of course Zaffiri made sure it was SAMMI Spec, had improved lock and tradition 1/10LH rifling.

The LAS Saya 2.0 is a great holsters for old salts and new owners alike. The Saya 2.0 is a bit different than many other appendix or ccw style kydex holsters due to his modularity. It can be swapped from left to right it has pre drilled slots for just about any accessory out there. The Saya can have a concealment wing, concealment hump, it is optic ready and can have a locking mechanism added to it. The finish work is outstanding on this holster from the quality of the kydex to the buffing and deburring of the kydex.

Sig Romeo1 Pro Red Dot has been one I wanted a long time to test. The romeo1 has a newer aluminum body, steel protective housing and some nice options like MOTAC. In Sig speak MOTAC means motion sense technology. Basically if you touch it the optic turns on if activated. You can turn MOTAC off and on via pressing both the up and down brightness setting. The optic is a little bigger than some especially with the protective housing. You get a 30 mm window with about 50 MOA of adjustment. Now the Romeo1 Pro also has a more durable dual spring zero internals to ensure it does not loose zero upon impact or the slide reciprocation.

Swampfox has come out with some solid sights with solid options like shake awake. The Liberty is one of the newest options from Swampfox coming with a top loaded battery and an optional protective shield for added durability. Liberty is the 22mm windowed miniature red dot and Justice is the 27mm window option. Both have shake away, top loaded battery and nice flush fit activation buttons. The glass is fully multi coated with ruby red so you don't get the blueish color looking down range. With a price point at $210 at the time of filming this its a good option for those who don't need the RMR's ability to be dropped repeatedly on concrete.

Acelink Level 3 Rifle Armor Serious Damage Going On in this video. Acelink sent these out for testing and following my model of testing I wanted to beat them with everything I had. Level 3 armor is setup for rifle and pistol ammo but it has limits. It cannot take steel core, green tip or AP round. I Hit this level armor with 556, 223, 762x39 and 7.62x51. It took every bit of it except for the armor piercing stuff, which it isn't rated for I just wanted to see if it was possible. The level 4 testing is coming and the special threat as well. As for the level 3 if its what your looking for Acelink is a brand to keep in mind. The two models here are the NIJ certified with soft backer and the NIJ tested with standard coating.

New Streamlight TLR1-HL 1000 Lumens For Your Pez Dispenser. Positive identifications paramount when practicing, training and in real life. Streamlight has had the TLR1 series of lights out for years now and I remember my first one that was 100 lumens. Now the TLR1-HL has a punishing 1k lumens for your needs. Pistol lights have a pretty difficult role to fill. They need to be bright enough to id at distance, yet spill light enough to illuminate a larger room or garage so you can identify what you need too. It carries the same activation switches and ten tap strobe functions as previous models.

Holosun has put out a lot of quality optics at a great budget price point compared to others. The Holosun 507C V2 was the next generation with shake awake and some nice changes to the location of the battery tray. However, Trijicon decided the competition was a bit to close and sued them prompting a location change of the buttons. The Holosun V2 because the X2 now with only the buttons being relocated and the other options being the same. There is also soon going to be an ACSS reticle version available soon.

Taurus G3 Cheap Pistol But Does It Run? This is a question I had to test for myself The Taurus brand has had some issues and the G3 is supposed to be the culmination of better quality control and fixes. I will say the G3 and the G3C which I have a video on coming soon both surprised me. I ran this Taurus through exactly what I would do with anything. I has several hundred rounds through it at this point from G2, Gold Dot +P, reloads, and all the basic 115G range ammo. And of course I ran some steel Tul Ammo through it. To my surprise it ran reliably on everything and actually felt pretty good. I paid $240 for this in December of 2020 which is an exceptional value based on everything going on. The Stipple felt good on the grip, clean angles worked with reloads and the safety was easy to get used too. I will say the trigger is like a long Tijuana road trip its not great but usable. In all it shot well and didn't give me any reason not to trust it.

FACTR USA Triggers for the Glock 43, 43X And 48. Glock Upgrades You Need! Options for Glocks are endless these days. Today we look at the FACTR slim trigger for the Glock 43, 43x and 48 models. FACTR USA is a newer company to the Glock market but they have already released some great triggers for the Gen 3-5 Glocks. The FACTR trigger has nice chamfered edges, a shoe safety that depresses flush with the trigger shoe and comes with a reduced power striker block spring to clean up the nasty grit in the slim lines.
