Disclaimer: I've used some of these covers before, probably for Man's Prime magazine. I can't really decide if the themes of torture and rape reflect the appeal of the magazine or the appeal of the heroes who save the damsels in distress. I think it is probably the latter, as these images had shock value for traditional men, but I may be wrong. I can imagine somebody making the case that this magazine reflects "toxic masculinity," which is not a concept that I endorse. What would you conclude?
