If the world is excited about something, then I probably should not be. That's why I don't give a flip about the upcoming solar eclipse.

Romans 4:17

"(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."

The Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci is not the Gospel.

I tried to emphasize that it is the Jewish people who do not have statues or graven images in Jerusalem and that it is non-Jewish people who brought in statues, etc. It was not my intention to indicate that any statue is an abomination to the Lord.

Exodus 20:5 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me;"

That is, "make in order to bow." Under the auspices of Moses himself, figures of cherubim (Exodus 25:19), brazen serpents (Numbers 21:6-9), oxen (1 Kings 7:25), and many other things in the earth beneath, were made and never condemned. The mere making was no sin, it was the making with the intent to give idolatrous worship.

Why We Use the King James Bible (Part Two)

There is no punishment for the saved person in heaven.

Acts 27:9-44

Congregational Verse:
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

-----------------------------------------------------------
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Believe the man of God.

14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

The wind is God. You can’t fight the wind. You can’t fight God.

16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

We always should hearken to the man of God.

22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

John 19:14 “And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the SIXTH hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Matthew 27:45 - “Now from the SIXTH hour there was darkness over all the land unto the NINTH hour.

Mark 15:25 - “And it was the THIRD hour, and they crucified him.”

Mark 15:33 - “And when the SIXTH hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.”

Luke 23:44 - “And it was about the SIXTH hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the NINTH hour.”

Bible skeptics, atheists, Muslims and those who mock at our infallible Bible (the King James Holy Bible) often bring up what they believe is an undeniable error recorded in Scripture in John 19:14. And now with the proliferation of numerous modern version paraphrases that often contradict each other, the skeptics have additional ammunition to show what they believe is an obvious error.

The Bible critics point out that Jesus was crucified at the 3rd hour as recorded in Mark 15:25 ( “And it was the THIRD hour, and they crucified him.” ) and he hung on the cross for a total of 6 hours (Mark 15:33), and that darkness was over the whole land from the 6th hour till the 9th hour. So they ask, How could Christ have been crucified at the 3rd hour in Mark 15:25 and yet be standing before Pontius Pilate at the 6th hour as recorded in John 19:14?

John 1:18 - The Revelation of the Father

Verse 18: No one has seen God at any time, but Jesus, who is in the bosom of the
Father, has declared Him.

John 1:19-28 - The Testimony of John the Baptist

Verses 19-20: The Jews question John the Baptist, asking if he is the Christ.
Verses 21-27: John denies being the Christ and identifies himself as the voice
crying in the wilderness, preparing the way for the Lord.
Verse 28: These events occurred in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was
baptizing.

John 1:29-34 - The Lamb of God

Verses 29-30: John the Baptist sees Jesus coming and declares Him as the Lamb of
God who takes away the sin of the world.
Verses 31-34: John testifies that he saw the Spirit descend on Jesus, confirming
that He is the Son of God.

John 1:35-42 - The First Disciples

Verses 35-37: John the Baptist points out Jesus to his disciples.
Verses 38-39: The disciples follow Jesus, and He invites them to see where He
dwells.
Verses 40-42: Andrew, one of the disciples, brings his brother Simon (Peter) to
Jesus.

John 1:43-51 - More Disciples Called

Verses 43-44: Jesus calls Philip to follow Him.
Verses 45-46: Philip finds Nathanael and tells him about Jesus.
Verses 47-51: Nathanael recognizes Jesus as the Son of God, and Jesus promises
greater things to come.

Hebrews 11:23 “By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of
his parents, because they saw [he was] a proper child; and they were not
afraid of the king’s commandment.”

“Proper child”: Meaning “favored,” in this case divinely favored (Acts
7:20; Exodus 2:2). The faith described here is that exercised by Moses’
parents, although it is unclear how much Moses’ parents understood about
God’s plan for their child.

Acts 7:20

20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up
in his father's house three months:

Exodus 2:2

2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he
was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

We find in the previous few Scriptures that the Pharaoh of Egypt had
ordered all the boy babies, born of the Hebrews to be killed at birth.

Exodus 1:16 “And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew
women, and see [them] upon the stools; if it [be] a son, then ye shall
kill him: but if it [be] a daughter, then she shall live.”

Exodus 1:22 “And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is
born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save
alive.”

The midwives were more afraid of God than they were of the Pharaoh and
they refused to kill the children. If they were found out or if the
parents went against Pharaoh and saved their child’s life; they would be
killed.

This does not stop Moses’ mother and father. They hid Moses for as long as
they could, and then they come up with a plan to have Pharaoh’s daughter
find the child in the Nile River. They feel if this is her adopted child,
he will not be killed.

Exodus 2:2 “And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him
that he [was a] goodly [child], she hid him three months.” This woman who
had the child was Jochabed, the wife of Amram. Moses was raised in the
palace as a son of the Pharaoh’s daughter, after she had taken him from
the Nile.

The Pharaoh’s daughter actually named Moses. “Moses” means drawing out of
the water.

Just as good as dead.

You can expect these three reactions when soul-winning.

What works for Peter may not work for Paul.

Why I Don’t Celebrate Halloween

1 John 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Halloween is traditionally a time when the obscure portal into the realms of darkness, death and the supernatural is thrown open. Demons and spirits have free reign for one night, cavorting, enticing us into their revels and revealing glimpses into the future. As a child drawn to darker passions from birth, I always delighted in the fear and fantasies of Halloween. It gives even the most mundane people the opportunity to taste wickedness for one night. They have a chance to dance with the Devil, either stumbling, tittering and nervous in the arms of the Black Prince, or boldly, ravenously sharing in the sensual excesses and fright of others on this magical, unholy night. Now, birth and death have, for me, become inextricably interwoven into this day.

Isaiah 28:15
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

1 Thessalonians 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

It doesn’t abstain from evil, it says abstain from all appearance of evil.

If I pose in a photo with a bunch of people dressed in devil costumes, and it gets posted to FaceBook, Instagram, or some other social media, and a stranger walks up to you and says “Isn’t this guy a member of your church? Isn’t he a deacon, a song leader, and a Sunday School teacher at your church? Then why is he posing in a photo with demons?”

I don’t want to engage in any activity that brings happiness to a hater of God.

Proverbs 28:4
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

1 Corinthians 8:4
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

1 Corinthians 10:20-21
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

It Celebrates Death: Halloween, in its origins, has a close association with death. Witchcraft, Wicca, Satanism, and all sorts of Paganism is celebrated during Halloween.

My Beliefs

In doctrine, I affirm the truth that has been passed down from church to church since the time of Christ. I affirm the deity of Christ, His death, burial, and bodily resurrection, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, the virgin birth, the inerrancy and infallibility of the scriptures, the inspiration and preservation of the scriptures, the imminent return of Christ and his future literal millennial reign. I accept the canonicity of the 66 books of scripture, I believe that God commands all men to repent, that Christ draws all men to himself, that any person can believe and be saved. I believe salvation cannot be forfeited or taken away. I believe Christ’s command to go to all the world and preach the Gospel is still applicable to us today. I believe in a future literal judgment seat of Christ and a Great white throne judgment. I believe that no person will enter heaven except through Jesus Christ. I reject all false religions: Islam, Judaism, New Age, etc. I reject the teaching that God elects some men to damnation, giving them no chance to be saved. I reject the idea that God did not preserve his words and that recent manuscript discoveries provide us with a more accurate Bible that was not available to past generations of Christians. I reject the concept of a universal church. I reject the idea that Baptism plays a part in salvation. I believe many things additionally not listed here. My views align with the scripture and with the beliefs that faithful churches have held since the time of Christ, and have held under the title of “Baptist” for many centuries now.
