Orange County, California brought the heat during the Summer of 2014 and I'm not talking about the weather. A beautiful example of a true southern California gem: a giant left hand kidney shaped pool with perfectly skate-able transitions from shallow to deep with grind-able coping all the way around. The property where the pool was located was a ranch style home on a decent sized corner lot in pride of ownership community and turned out to be slated for demolition. The lot size (under 1/4 acre) and home design provided privacy in the pool area which is common for pool homes in this dense suburban area of single family dwellings.
This pool had lots of obstacles to contend with: boulders on the coping in every pocket, a sharp ledge protruding off the hip big enough to take your head off, a slide in the deep end to the left of the light, and the remnants of the haphazardly removed and strewn about fiberglass coating which had to be removed to facilitate the skateboarding. Not to mention this was a barge/trespass situation. Not for the faint at heart with no easy in/out access and a for sure bust if caught, but damn if it wasn't Disneyland for skateboarding I don't know what was...

In the mid 1990's on the Boulevard of Champions was the mother of all Egg/Capsule shaped bowls with a half pipe in the deep end and fully skate-able transition all the way around.
