In this video I will show you how to paint an autumn scene with oil paints using the wet-on-wet technique made popular by Bob Ross.
The supplies needed to complete this painting are discussed in the video.
This landscape is fairly easy for the intermediate painter, but not too difficult for beginners. I would not recommend it for the first-time painter**.

Deep Woods Waterfall Landscape

Learn how to paint a landscape with oil paints, even if you have no painting experience. I am using the "wet-on-wet" painting technique made popular by Bob Ross. This method is associated with a painting technique known as "alla prima," which is an Italian phrase meaning 'at first attempt.'

I have taught several people the "wet-on-wet" method of painting, including a few with absolutely no painting experience. These first-timers were surprised to learn that they could achieve decent results on their first attempt.

I hope you will give this technique a try.

A step-by-step instructional video on how to paint an ACEO watercolor. ACEO is an acronym for Art Card, Editions, and Originals. Feel free to substitute your favorite colors and brushes. A materials list is included at the beginning of the video.

If you don't want Christmas lights on your tree, simply skip the masking/Christmas lights sections of the video. You can add just the snow to the branches of the foreground tree to create a general winter scene.

Be sure to use 100% cotton watercolor paper, especially when using a blade to lift color. Pulpwood paper tends to tear and deteriorate when using these painting techniques.

I hope you give it a try!

Best wishes,
Tom
