What would happen if a top five light heavyweight MMA fighter, in his athletic prime and in fight camp, got into a no-rules fight with a guy who wrestled at 138 pounds in high school?

I used to bet on fights from time to time. and to me, the answer is obvious.

Clearly, the huge fighter will finish the little wrestler easily. I'd be surprised if it lasted more than 30 seconds.

So when a former high school wrestler named Luke Haberman broke into Anthony Smith's house at 4 o'clock in the morning, I would have expected an easy fight for Smith. But that's not what happened.

While researching a video I'm making about Berserkers, I keep seeing people referencing a Lindybeige video called

"Berserkers! The Facts and the Fictions"

Unfortunately, this silly video has inspired a horde of half-wits to disseminate pseudo-history on every video related in any way to berserkers--even music videos.

It's one of the top results for the search term 'berserker' and it has over a million views, and it makes claims like "berserkers didn't go berserk" and that instead they were champions who fought duels and wore bearskin shirts; he calls the notion that "berserkers went berserk" something that a 13-year-old boy would believe.

The problem is that if you read an actual book written by an expert in the field--someone who actually knows old Norse-- you will read that *berserkers did go berserk*.

This tale is discourse #49 from the Majjhima Nikāya of the Sutta Pitaka in the Pali canon, the "Middle-length discourses of the Buddha", and is explained beginning on page 107 of Julius Evola's "The Doctrine of Awakening". He calls it "The Visit to Brahma". Its original name is the "Brahmanimantanika Sutta", which means "Brahma's Appeal" according to Chalmers. Sutta Central calls it "On the Invitation of Brahmā".

Amazon's Lord of the Rings TV series, the most expensive show of all time--with a one billion dollar budget--has announced the cast for the first two seasons. It's not looking promising.

Why would "partisan" republicans Ken Starr and Brett Kavanaugh cover for Bill Clinton? Why would every editor of every mainstream news source in the US turn down a potentially Pulitzer Prize-winning story about a murder cover up at the highest levels of government from an inside source?

Even after you take the red pill, the illusion around you can begin to feel real. But some events deviate too far from the fairy tale you're told about how the world works.
