Can I attend an SSPX mass?

This is the question that I asked myself for several years. I fell in love with latin mass.

But, it was always difficult to attend the diocesan latin mass in my area. Though I did, and still do.

But it was always at an inconvenient time and place. The venue gets moved around, and the time changes. Not like every month or anything, or even every year. 

However, the sspx chapel is always at the same place and at a reasonable time.

But I was hesitant. I mean after all they are in an irregular canonical status, they're Priests are suspended a divinis.

If I go to one of their masses, am I committing a sin? Will I be excommunicated, does it fulfill my Sunday obligation? Is it even valid, does transubstantiation even occur? If I go to their confession will my sins be forgiven?

So I did research. Forget all the other stuff. I don't have to agree with everything about them or what they say. I don't agree with half the things said by novus ordo churches. I wanted to know :

Can I attend a mass at the sspx chapel without sinning, or getting excommunicated or some other penalty, can I take communion and does it fulfill my Sunday obligation?

And after much looking into this you might say, I found that the answer to these questions was a very reluctant 

YES

Why do people leave the novus ordo and choose to attend the approved latin mass, or attend the sspx, or become a sedevacantist?

Why this relatively new attack on traditionalist groups?

Why does traditional Catholicism even exist?

This whole anti trad movement is getting out of hand

Part of me thinks

This is nothing more than a lame attempt at  damage control. 

To prevent people who are sick and tired of the novus ordo from looking to tradition and traditional groups as a remedy 

Because mass attendance has declined in the novus ordo over the last several years and the trad groups are growing. 

So they set up this scare tactic giving people the most fringe stories that could happen in any religious group,  making it look like they are the norm for trad groups

Am I saying that I believe this is a coordinated effort and not a genuine grass roots movement.

Well, That's what I suspect.

And I have for a long time. Although  I can't say that for sure

I know it's Easter and not Thanksgiving. But I think it is appropriate to think of things we are thankful for.

I'm thankful that Christ was crucified and raised from the dead so that we can have Salvation.

I'm thankful for my wife, my children, my Grandchildren and the rest of my family. 

I'm thankful I have a job, a house and a decent living.

And Im thankful for the SSPX

There is a small religious community in San Antonio that's been getting a lot of attention the past few weeks.  A nun at the community has allegedly recieved Prophetic interior locutions from the Virgin Mary and Jesus, but mainly from God the father saying that God's hour is about to come.

There is a chapter in the bible that in my opinion

Shows the error of scripture alone

When properly examined reveals that the Catholic Church is the true church.

Now there are many verses in the bible that disprove scripture and show the Catholic Church to be the true church. But 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 is one of the most interesting.

if you've watched my videos you've seen me use 2nd thessalonians 2:15 as a proof text against scripture alone. 

2nd thessalonians 2:15 Says:

So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

But that's not what I want to focus on. I want to focus on the restrainer paul discusses in 2nd Thessalonians, he who restrains the Antichrist. Although Paul doesn't call him the Antichrist, he calls him the man of lawlessness and the son of perdition.

Paul says

2nd thessalonians 2:3-8

Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition,  who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you this? And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time.  For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.  And then the lawless one will be revealed

Here Paul says that something and someone is restraining,  or preventing, the Antichrist from appearing on the scene.

With all the confusion in the Church today, the bad fruits of the novus ordo coming to fruition, the looming utter destruction of the church, which will be averted by God himself, on the horizon, the neverending compromises with the world, such as the blessing of sinful unions, it makes a person wonder.

Were the Sedevacantists right?

I don't think so.

Many people think we are about to enter the end of days, the appearance of the antichrist, and the great tribulation, which will cause may to fall away from the faith,  while the rest are tortured and killed 

Many of our Evangelical friends and family tell us that there's no reason to worry if you are a true Christian. 

Because before the tribulation, the Antichrist and the mark of the beast all the true Christians will be raptured. Caught up in the air with Jesus and taken to heaven. And they will not have to endure any of that.

They say this is what the bible says. But does it really?

Let's take a look, shall we?

If we look in our modern bibles at Genesis 3:15, Whether Catholic or Protestant,

  we read:

I will put enmity between you and the woman,

    and between your seed and her seed;

he shall bruise your head,[a]

    and you shall bruise his heel.”

However, if we look at the king James and other older Protestant bibles the passage reads:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head

Others say: “ they shall bruise your head”

And all Catholic bibles before the current era read:

 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, 

So the question is “ who bruises the head of the serpent?

He, she, it, or they?

One might think it doesn't matter, That the Catholic church has given in on this point and admitted that it was wrong. That it is indeed “ He” who will crush the head of the serpent.

But I think this would be a mistake,  and that the correct interpretation of 3:15 is in fact

I have been asked over the last few years to give my conversion story,  which I've been reluctant to do. But recently someone emailed me, wanting me to give it, asking specifically how I came to know Catholicism is the true religion. So, I decided to go ahead and give my testimony.

This will probably be long, so I'm probably not going to worry about the visual so much, the focus will be more on the audio.

It will be long because, at least for me, joining the Catholic Church and becoming Catholic are 2 different things. In other words my conversion story doesn't end with my confirmation. That really was the beginning of a conversion to Catholicism that took years. In fact I would say its still ongoing.

I've been waiting for months to do this video. And now that the political season has started I'm here to say:

Christians ,

Don't put your faith in this election.

Or, this or that Politician 

Or the American political system 

Thinking  it's going to solve all of our problems.

This is going to be a longer than normal video for me. I have a lot to say on this topic so im not going to do as much with the visual and music, like normally do. Ill fill it with images and videos, but this is going to be focused on the audio. More of a podcast.

And realize that my defense is geared more towards defending the sspx. since that's what I attend, rather than other groups.  I'm not a sedevacantist so I'm not going to defend that position but I think a lot of my defense can be applied to other traditional groups.

War raging in Ukraine and Palestine.

China could invade Taiwan at any moment.

All these Catholic prophecies getting fulfilled 

And you know what this means.

You know what comes next

 we are on the verge of ww3.

And there's nothing that can be done about it.

Or is there?

Beginning in 1599, and continuing through the early part of the 1600s, our lady appeared to 

Mother Mariana of Jesus Torres in quito Ecuador giving prophecies about the state of the world in the 20th century 

These apparitions are called

“Our lady of good success”

But did this really happen?

are these apparitions of the blessed virgin Mary in quito Ecuador 

Authentic?

Are the prophecies reliable?

Being Catholic is hard. 

Very hard.

Harder than any other religion, and certainly harder then other form of Christianity 

There are rules that don't exist in other christian churches.

In Catholicism you have to go to mass under pain of mortal sin, confess your sins to a priest,

Submit to an earthly authority especially on matters of doctrine, and realize that good works are part of the salvation process which takes a lifetime to accomplish.

While in other churches all you have to do is believe, the rest of your personal doctrine is determined by your personal interpretation of scripture, you can go to church whenever you want, and salvation is a one time event.

Why do Catholics confess their sins to a priest?

Protestants and Evangelical Christians say that the only thing necessary for salvation is faith alone. Some go so far as to say that a single act of repentance will forgive all your sins past, present, and future.

Still, others would say one need only to go to God to have your sins forgiven, and that men can not forgive sins.

If all this is true then confessing one's sins to a priest is an unnecessary and futile act.

You have no doubt heard that Pope Francis has approved the blessing of same sex marriages. You have no doubt heard that that's not really true.

So, First let's do the Popsplaining shall we?. Because unfortunately it is necessary.

With recent events happening in and around Catholicism of late,

Such as the ousting and mistreatment of good Bishops,  and the events with church militant and Michael Voris,

 it would be easy for some to lose Faith in the Catholic church and leave it altogether.

But I want to encourage people not to leave the Catholic church no matter what happens.

Because unfortunately, things are only going to get worse.

According to prophecy.

It would be negligent of me, after having made a video about praying to the saints, to not address the elephant in the room on this subject.

Sacramentals, Statues, icons, relics, holy images, and their use in Catholicism. 

Is it Idol worship?

Of course the Protestants say yes.

They offer the second commandment in their version of the 10 commandments as proof 

Exodus 20:4,5

 “You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.
