Outlaw Star
Takehiko Ito

The anime for this series is very well known among Americans that watched "Toonami" in the late 90's / early 00's. The manga is quite different from the anime, has different timelines, different plot points, but overall the same characters. Also there is a lot more sex and nudity, hence why you are watching it here. :)

Daredevil #236
Ann Nocenti
Barry Windsor-Smith

Ann Nocenti's first Daredevil book is a lil rough but, it does show what is to come on the book: good storytelling with just enough liberal politics to annoy you but, not enough to get you to stop reading.

Also I show off two character designs for my future comic book!

Demon Slayer Volume 1
Koyoharu Gotouge

While not the best opening act I have read for a Manga, Demon Slayer is a solid book and is just yet another example of Japanese creators focusing on what matters: Story.

You can get Demon Slayer volume 1 at any bookstore or online retailer that carries Manga.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, & Tom Walt
Esau & Isaac Escorza

I check out the Last Ronin and see how the Turtles are doing circa 2020/2021. Apparently their world is sh*t too. Nice.

You can get 2nd printings of the Last Ronin at your local comicbook shop or online.

Chris Claremont
A crap load of different artist, inkers, and colorists (Thanks Marvel)

Claremont writes up a salute to one of the characters he created and to his own time at Marvel Comics.

Secret Wars #11

Yoko Tsuno 1 - On The Edge of Life (Originally Yoko Tsuno 7)
Roger Leloup

While not really my type of genre, I cannot help but be impressed by the quality of draftsmanship of this BD. Incredibly impressive workmanship by this classic French Comic.

You can get the book shown in this video at the link below:
https://www.amazon.com/Edge-Life-Yoko-Tsuno/dp/1905460325

Star Wars #73
Jo Duffy
Ron Frenz
Tom Palmer

Was in the mood for some Star Wars after the finale of Mandalorian season 2 and this little classic gem hit the spot. Jo Duffy's run is criminally underrated.

The New Mutants #41
Chris Claremont
Jackson Guice
Terry Austin

This simple "filler" issue of the New Mutants set after the events of Secret Wars 2 show cases Chris Claremont's incredible writing skill and his ability to humanize just about any character out there. An amazing issue and another example of when Marvel Comics was great.

You can get the trade paperback shown in this video at the link below;

Secret Wars #8
Jim Shooter
Mike Zeck

Besides having long term implications to the Marvel Universe via the appearance of the symbiote, this issue is great fun. Phenomenal cover and great story, check it out!

My Hero Academia Chapter 1
"Midoriya Izuku: Origins"
Kohei Horikoshi

The extremely popular manga is popular for a good reason. Structurally sound and able to draw on the readers desire to grow and become better (a staple of the Shonen genre); My Hero Academia is formulaic... but, it is formulaic in a brilliant way. Execution is everything.

You can get the volume shown in the video at the link below:
https://www.amazon.com/My-Hero-Academia-Vol-1/dp/1421582694

The New Teen Titans #18
Marv Wolfman
George Perez

Just a simple issue from the past shows how the pro's did it back in the days. Stories like these were common place in the best era of America comics.

You can get the Trade Paperback shown in this video at the link below:
https://www.amazon.com/New-Teen-Titans-Vol-3/dp/1401258549

Secret Wars #7
Jim Shooter
Mike Zeck

Jim Shooter fixes a few mistakes from past issues while jacking up the action and drama to the max. Mike Zeck pencils up some awesome panels.
