Sand tables are a must when explaining a mission so people can see how things go together, who is around them, and key info about the battlefield. You can buy pre-made kits or make your own. Main consideration is how detailed can you support and realistically carry.

The earliest Grenades are thought to have been created in the 8th Century AD. Around the 10th Century they arrived in China and they replaced the filler with early black powder. Over time they evolved to include shrapnel material. These crude early grenades are still appearing on the battlefield to include protests here in the USA.

This was a simplified grenade manufactured by the Soviets as a substitute for the complicated RGD-33 stick grenade. They were manufactured also behind German lines by partisans. All the partisans needed was the TNT for the filler and the UZRGM fuse assemblies which was dropped to or smuggled to them. The container was whatever small cans they had available.

These mines are rare in the inventory now. I saw a chart with historic landmine production data and inventory numbers during the mid 90s. It was classified but I had access because of my duty position at the time. There were estimated to be around 60,000 left in inventory 20 years ago according to online searches. They were produced in the late 1950s and were given out in large numbers to guerilla organizations we supported during the Cold War. Easy to use and very hard to detect during that period.

This is the most common antitank mine in the US inventory, around 1.9 million. Produced in the 1950s and started to be refurbished in the 1990s to extend their service life. In this video I show emplacing it in the pressure activated mode.

Another variation of the Triangular Ambush. You can use this to cause the enemy casualties and then melt away. Or keep shifting your positions to annihilate your target.

These are 2 very common Russian/Soviet manufactured grenades found in use around the world. They must be prepped before use unlike US grenades.

Immediate action drill for reacting to either fixed wing aircraft or rotary wing. Engaging enemy aircraft is not part of this drill.

This is an ambush tactic for use in large open areas such as rice paddies or grassy fields. It is meant for a platoon sized or larger element. This is because of the chances of smaller elements being overrun with fewer avenues of escape.

How could/should you do training for your unit if you never served in the military and have no clue. Don't spend all your time at the range and neglect the other tasks that are just as important.

Now all the tasks from the previous videos are put together as a platoon. At the end will be the simulated battle showing how complex obstacles work to shape a battle.

This is the first task performed when putting in any minefield. You need to find the location, site it out, and mark it for the row or mines. You MUST have 2 landmarks for helping locate the locations of the rows of mines. All the information collected in this phase is entered in the Minefield Report documents. Remember you must be hyper-accurate so no mines are missed during removal.

Ground is frozen so you can't bury cache tubes and barrels. They kind of draw attention when left out on the ground or exposed. You still want to put out caches but what can you use and still might be able to hide.

The videos that will be posted will cover areas such as field gear, field craft, engineer tasks, and equipment needed to accomplish those tasks. The government seems to fear veterans. It is because we have the knowledge and experience to take a rag tag group of people and turn them into a competent fighting force. I will try to do my part to pass on my knowledge to help those that are willing to make a stand for our Republic if or when the call comes.
