In my first video about GOD Money I have described the GM Scale as a tool for evaluating a given money in terms of its quality as GOD Money, or as a candidate with a potential, or in worst case as an off-scale phenomenon. If you have not yet watched that video, I recommend you to do so, as it will provide you with sufficient background for a clear understanding of this one.

In this video I am going to present to you my evaluation of the famous, historic, and nowadays still very relevant pair of materials: Gold and Silver (G&S, G&S Pair) on the GM Scale.

There are 18 criteria on GM Scale, each one with its own weight of relative importance, that will be used in the calculation of GM Score. The resulting number is then placed on GM Scale, which has a spectrum from 0 to 1000, where 1000 is the ideal GOD Money.

I have presented the GM Scale in my first video on GOD Money. Since then I have decided to separate the initially joint criterion for Economy and Environment, and therefore there are now 18 criteria, while earlier there were 17. Because of this, it was necessary to change the weights in order to accommodate the new total number of criteria. For your convenience, here I show the list of criteria of GM Scale. The numerical sequence of criteria on this list is not important for the actual GM Scale, and is sorted this way here only for logical and functional reasons.

Gold and silver as money can positively contribute to solving some fundamental problems in the economy, which are caused by, or which cannot be solved by the debt-based fiat currency system and fractional reserve banking.

I have now placed gold and silver on GM Scale with the best of my knowledge at this point in time, by my own personal judgement. The most important thing, however, is not a final number, but the entirety of content and discussion leading to a number. The process is contributing to a better understanding.

I think that not only gold and silver, but all noble, scarce and precious metals can function as money. Each noble metal has its own peculiar set of qualities, strengths and weaknesses in its potential role as metal money. Some of them have nearly as good overall ability for becoming money as gold and silver have.

Here I show a table with 9 noble and scarce metals that I think are strong candidates for functioning as money.

Gold (Au)
Silver (Ag)
Platinum (Pt)
Palladium (Pd)
Rhodium (Rh)
Ruthenium (Ru)
Iridium (Ir)
Osmium (Os)
Rhenium (Re)

Gold is so abundant on our planet Earth-Ocean, that it would cover the entire surface of the planet with a many metres-high layer, if absolutely all the existing gold on our planet would be recovered in pure form. A truly astonishing mass. However, I think you will now appreciate the knowledge that the quantity of gold and silver available for technologically and economically feasible and sustainable mining is very little compared to the total existing quantity. Nature is setting limits by difficulty. In that sense, gold and silver are scarce, they are rare metals, and their annual supply is limited by natural and techno-economical factors.

Physical properties and natural scarcity of gold make it an excellent form of store of monetary value for humanity on our planet Mother Earth-Ocean. For thousands of years it has been, and still is an exceptionally good store of value as money for humans, and probably will be so for a long time to come. There are even linguistic proofs of sound money historically being defined by people as noble metal, e.g. silver. The word for bank in Mandarin (China) is 银行 (yín háng), meaning silver house. The word for money in the following languages is the same as for Silver, French: argent, Welsh: arian, Mongolian: мөнгө (mong), Lao: ເງິນ (ngoen).

In this video I talk about the following aspects of Gold And Silver as Medium Of Exchange: safety, speed, size, availability of suitable coins, cost, DPMM (Digital Precious Metal Money), pricing examples from Goldmoney, SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and finally - GM Score for Gold And Silver as Medium Of Exchange.

One of the concepts I have been thinking about is what I call GOD Money. GOD in this case is an abbreviation, G.O.D., that stands for Global, Open, Decentralised. Let's first see what money is, and then we will take a closer look at how it can be G.O.D, and why GOD Money is important.

Is Bitcoin money? The very basic functionality of money is the combination of the following: medium of exchange, store of value, and unit of account. In this presentation I will evaluate Bitcoin on GM Scale. Here I am considering Bitcoin as a digital asset used in a specialised network of computers.
