Halo Infinite Will Give Players Bonus XP For Their First Few Matches Daily

Halo Infinite will give players bonus xp for their first few matches daily starting today. Ever since, the surprise launched of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta, the game’s battle pass progression has been a major topic by the Halo community. From the start, there were no XP to be earned from playing matches, and in response, 343 industries implemented a permanent “play one game” challenge that awards the player 50xp each time, but John Junyszek mentioned that the studio noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than they would like.
Addressing this problem, when players play six games a day, they will be rewarded more xp that will gradually decrease to 50xp after playing seven games. While this makes player progression more efficient, the game still has many issues to address, which will be fixed base on player feedback to improve Halo Infinite’s multiplayer experience.
While the game is still in beta, Halo Infinite is scheduled to officially launch on December 8th.

Nintendo Takes More Risks With Prototypes According to Metroid Prime Developer

According to Metroid Prime Developer and Lead Technical engineer of the Metroid Prime Trilogy Jack Mathews, Nintendo likes to take more risks with prototypes. Despite the long wait for the anticipated Metroid Prime 4, the game’s prolonged development is indicative of Japanese companies and Nintendo as a whole. During the chat on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, Mathews touched upon key differences between developing for a publisher in Japan and the West.
He stated “A lot of the way that deals get structured is that [Western publishers] want – when you’re going to do a prototype – they want to do an entire long-form agreement of the entire game […] before you start the prototype. It ends up negating a lot of what you’re doing in the prototype anyway because you still have to figure out how much the whole thing is going to cost for this thing that you really don’t know much about.”
Metroid Prime 4 was announced at E3 2017, and was revealed in 2019 that the development for the game has been restarted by Shinya Takahashi.

Phil Spencer Wants To Legalize Emulation

Phil Spencer wants to legalize emulation, as he voiced his belief that older games need to be preserved for future generations to experience. Speaking with Axios, the Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that the gaming industry needs to prioritize the preservation of older video games while backing up that other forms of media have been doing this.

Therefore, he suggested that one way to enact video game preservation would be for industry leaders to offer “legal emulation.” He then continued stating that his hope is as an industry we would work on legal emulation that allowed modern hardware to run any older executable allowing someone to play any game. He then finished saying “I think in the end, if we said, ‘Hey, anybody should be able to buy any game, or own any game and continue to play,’ that seems like a great North Star for us as an industry.”

Throughout the years, emulating has always seem to have been a more efficient alternative to play older video games that are usually difficult to find or too expensive to purchase off of stores such as Ebay, and the possibilities of emulating being legalized is something that time will only tell.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Is Currently In Beta

Halo Infinite multiplayer is currently in beta, but progress will carry over in Season 1. On the Halo Waypoint blog, Joseph Staten, Head of Creative, clarified why the early release of Halo Infinite on November 15th is currently in beta until it officially releases on December 8th, and stated that they made the decision as a way for players to find the remaining bugs and glitches for 343 industries to patch up before it officially launches next month. Not only that, they did so in anticipation of a high player population before the official release of the anticipated first person shooter.

Then he continued stating “Our previous Multiplayer Technical Preview went a long way to battle-testing our services and infrastructure, but as we prepare for a significant increase in the number of players jumping into Halo Infinite on launch day, December 8th, we want to ensure all our systems are good-to-go. While you may experience some bumps and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass.”

Elder Scrolls 6 Will Release Only on Xbox and PC

Elder Scrolls 6 will release only on Xbox and PC. As much as that it is not that much of a surprise, ever since Microsoft acquired Zenimax Media, it looks like the anticipated open world action RPG is currently not planned to be released on the PlayStation 5, according to the recent interview with the Xbox boss Phil Spencer had to say. Despite this not lining up with Phil Spencer’s philosophy on how games are supposed to be offered, it does make sense under a business standpoint by Microsoft.

However, on the tenth anniversary of Skyrim from last week, PlayStation owners still had a chance to experience it themselves, and a few exclusively deals that were signed between Sony and Bethesda are still being rolled ahead of acquisition. Even though it maybe disappointing that PlayStation owners would not be able to experience Elder Scrolls 6, when it comes out, there is always a possibility that this could only be a timed exclusive that would last hopefully not that long.

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Launches in a Bad State

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy launces in a bad state, which resulted with Rockstar Games to temporarily to remove the PC version for maintenance. This week, the remastered trilogy launched exclusively on PC only to result in the game to suffer with significant amount of issues making it unplayable. As of right now, the PC version is currently unavailable on Rockstar Games website, while the Rockstar Game Launcher remains offline. However, the remastered collection is currently available to play on PlayStation and Xbox platforms including the Nintendo Switch.

In a recent tweet made by Rockstar Games, they stated that the service for the Rockstar Game Launcher is currently offline for maintenance, and they will return as soon as maintenance is completed. While it is unfortunate for the game to launch in this state, the collection does deliver one of the best in the series, but if you haven’t purchased, it is best to probably wait until the bugs are completely patched along with improving its overall performance such as it’s framerate and resolution hopefully in the near future.

Twitch is Now Available on the Nintendo Switch, But....

Twitch is now available on the Nintendo Switch, but is it currently not the best place to use as of right now. The application has been available on various PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and after four years since launch, the Nintendo Switch is finally joining in. When we meant that “It’s currently not the best play to use as of right now,” this means that the application is missing a good amount of key features that are currently available on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

While you can watch people stream their games and interact with the chat, you would not be able to stream your own games on it just like what you can do on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. While watching the stream, the only options the user has are to pause, hide the UI, or close the stream. However, users can authorize their accounts to use the chat on their mobile phones while watching.

The app is currently available to download at 31 MB, but it would probably best to wait until it has some improvements in the future.

Will Starfield Be Delayed?

Will Starfield be delayed? In a recent interview with IGN, Director and Executive producer of Bethesda game studios Todd Howard expressed that he is confident that the game will be ready to release next year on the eleventh of November. While the anticipated open world action RPG is currently in development, Todd Howard said that the game is now playable from start to finish, while at the same time noted that there are still some areas in the game that need to be polished before it releases next year.

Despite what they have left, the overall progress on developing the game has gone better than they have anticipated, even with the challenges the teams had to face during the global pandemic that started back in March 2020. Even with the slight changes to their working conditions, the team at Bethesda Game Studios have adapted very well, since the team has a history of working remotely in the past.

Starfield is set to be the first major release since being recently acquired by Microsoft, and it will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.

Sakurai on the Future of Super Smash Bros.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Sakurai, the leader of the Super Smash Bros. franchise stated that he can not imagine the franchise continuing without him. After the major success with fifth installment of the series, Sakurai stated that he is currently not thinking about a sequel as of right now, and that there is a possibility that the latest entry in the series is “definitely” the last game of the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

Even if the team decides to continue the franchise, he stated that he can not see how a new entry can be produced without him involved. Even though that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate seems to be the last in the series, that does not mean that Sakurai is done making games, since he is known for making other titles such as Kid Icarus Uprising and the Kirby franchise.

Throughout the years, Nintendo has always had a new entry for every console generation since the Nintendo 64 era, and with Ultimate being the most ambitious yet with its massive roster in the history of gaming, there is always a possibility that it could be ported to newer Nintendo consoles in the future.

Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Gary Bowser

Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Gary Bowser and will earn $4.5 million. In a recent report, Nintendo has won a major victory against a member of a hacking team Team-Xecuter who pleaded guilty for selling custom firmware that enabled piracy. In the recent years, Nintendo has been very aggressive against website that allow users to download ROMs based off of Nintendo’s popular IPs to emulate such as EmuParadise, including other websites and hackers that make it possible for users to emulate games that are available on the Nintendo Switch.

Team-Xecuter was responsible for the custom firmware known as SX OS, which was sold through a network of resellers. In result, Nintendo first went after those resellers, and won many cases, which eventually lead to Team-Xecuter, which ended up getting the United States Justice Department involved. Gary Bowser was arrested in the Dominic Republic and was sent back to the United States to face eleven felony counts, which also included both money laundering and wire fraud.

After the case was closed with Bowser pleading guilty, he will serve ten years in prison.

Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 Have Been Delayed

Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 have been delayed by Blizzard due to financial reasons. Even though we had no clear information on when these two titles would be coming out after they were announced a few years ago, it is still possible to have them delayed regardless, even when Jeff Kaplan mentioned at BlizzCon 2019 when he had no idea when Overwatch 2 would be released.

Due to the new leadership being placed at Activision Blizzard, they have mentioned “it has become apparent that some of the Blizzard content planned for next year will benefit from more development time to reach its full potential. While we are still planning to deliver a substantial amount of content from Blizzard next year, we are now planning for a later launch for Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 than originally envisaged.”

Despite the delay, there is a possibility that we could see these games being launched, and the President of Blizzard Mike Ybarra said that the delays were caused by recent leadership changes at the company, and both teams have achieve some major milestones during development.

Netflix Launches Five New Mobile Games on Android Devices

Netflix launches five new mobile games on Android devices today! These games include Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Tetter Up. The way this will work is by being listed in a dedicated row or category, which is similar to how all the other content such as televisions shows and movies have been handled on the streaming service. The games on Netflix can be played by multiple users on the same account, as long as there is no limit being surpassed on the user’s device.

However, while some of these games will require an internet connection to play, others will be available offline. So far, this recent launch is extremely in line with what was made public during its beta test from August 2021, and while the lineup is small, it is considered to be the start for Netflix as they are interested in designing games for all types of players ranging from casual to hard core. As of right now, we do not what will be in store next for this new direction of this company, but only time will tell.

Blockchain Game Developers Want Steam to Reverse Their Decision to Remove Their Games From Their Website.

Blockchain game developers want steam to reverse their decision to remove their games. On Tuesday, twenty nine blockchain gaming companies sent out an open letter to Steam to reverse their decisions on blocking their games. Companies like Fight for the Future and many others requested Valve to not ban web3 technologies including NFTs. On September 2021, blockchain-based games were banned from Steam due to them possessing real-world value. In response, the companies told Valve that “Web3 games are a fast moving and exciting category of games that have a place withing the Steam ecosystem. Please consider changing your stance on this issue and permit tokens and, more broadly, the use of blockchain tech on the Steam platform.” NFTs are a unique way to allow players to buy and sell unique ownership, and they can technically contain anything digital such as items players can earn in video games, animated GIFs, songs. Mario Voice Actor Wants to Voice Mario for as Long as He Can

In the recent Q&A session at Fan Expo Canada, veteran voice actor of the iconic Super Mario Charles Martinet had expressed interest in voicing the character for as long as he can. However, if he reaches the point in his life where he would not be able to carry on the role, he will ask Nintendo to find someone else to pass down the torch. Charles Martinet has been voicing Mario, since the early to mid 90s, and has risen in fame in 1996 at the launch of the popular Nintendo 64 for game “Super Mario 64” including in other titles from both the main and spin-off series like Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and many more. Even though he will not be voicing the character in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie by Illumination Entertainment scheduled to release in 2022, he will be making a cameo appearance voicing other characters in the film. What are your thoughts and opinions on the recent news? Feel free to sound it off in the comments.
