Max Karson's take on the age of consent is atrocious.
Bad laws destroy lives. It is possible to make good laws. We should take a long hard look at how bad our status quo is. We can stop grinding good people into the dirt, but we have to get past Puritan hysteria. We can emulate countries that take a reasonable approach. We can use evidence-based arguments, assess real harm, and stop creating problems where none need to exist.

Bullying is real. It has origins deep in our prehistory. Our tendency to despise the weak often makes us evil. We can be more aware of when and how we are justifying terrible behavior toward the socially inept who annoy us, but aren't really hurting anyone.
American society is used to blaming teenagers for everything.
87% of Mass Shooters are over 21. That's according to the Washington Post's own data.
So of course they blame young people for mass shootings.
They tout a very popular proposal which would, ideally, maybe help prevent less than 1 in 10 of these horrific events.
Punishing teens is not the answer. Bigotry is not the solution.
The stupidity of their article is fierce.
Accusing our young people of having deficient brains is vile AF.
According to the Washington Post 72% of mass shooters are over 25.
Less than half of mass shooters are under 30.
Age discrimination can at best address a tiny fraction of the problem.
Why couldn't the Washington Post spend 5 minutes looking at the numbers?
Podcasters Baffled by a TV show from 1991 are hilarious.
Teenagers are not children. They are young adults. Pre-2000 everybody knew that and so nobody was surprised when young adults were shown on TV doing normal things like thinking and talking about sex. Post-2000 everybody desperately wants to pretend that teenagers are small children and have no sexuality at all. So podcasters watching a TV show from 1991 are dumbfounded.
