New Order's Blue Monday was released on 7 March 1983, and its cutting-edge electronic groove changed pop music forever. But what would it have sounded like if it had been made 50 years earlier? In a special film, using only instruments available in the 1930s - from the theremin and musical saw to the harmonium and prepared piano - the mysterious Orkestra Obsolete present this classic track as you've never heard it before.

Andy Thomas exposes the now rapid and threatening programme of online censorship, which is removing certain ‘alternative’ topics from immediate public view through adjusted algorithms, search and recommendation editing, and openly declared refusals to host specific – and perfectly legal – material. With this being done to protect people from claimed ‘fake news’, who is protecting those who try to keep real discussions about truth and freedom alive? Andy encourages people to wake up to the new onslaught against non-conformist thinking and considers the ultimate implications of its removal from the public eye. Social conditioning and the rigid enforcing of new orthodoxies guarantees the creation of new heretics, so what should the role of truth seekers be in the face of such overt opposition, and how can genuine free speech be kept alive in censorial times? Recorded at the Truth, Mysteries and New Frontiers conference (Glastonbury Symposium), 2019

We’re at Port Eliot Festival in Cornwall this week in search of new ideas, great speakers and, of course those people who are thinking differently…

Bruce Parry is an indigenous rights advocate, author, explorer and filmmaker. He has lived with some of the most isolated tribes in the world, learning from how they interact with each other and the planet. After much exploration, one of the things that has truly inspired Bruce is the idea of egalitarian living.

Host Ross Ashcroft caught up with him to hear his ideas on how to we can rethink our leadership structures and muster the courage to look within so we are able to change the modern western narrative.

It was the Scottish author Charles Mackay who spotted that human beings go mad in crowds and come to their senses slowly and individually. One place to see this madness in action is in financial markets - especially when those markets have been juiced with cheap money. But manias’ never last, and in fact, daily, more and more people have stopped drinking the Kool Aid and have started joining the dots the reality of how the world really works… Host Ross Ashcroft is joined by the author Charlie Robinson to discuss how far the tentacles of vested interests really reach to maintain the status quo.

This is Dave McGowan's appearance on Good Vibrations with Mark Devlin. This is volume 43 from August 2014 -
Quoted from soundcloud.com : We keep with strange stuff in the music scene for Volume 43, as US author and researcher Dave McGowan guests. Dave was behind the recent series of web articles shining the spotlight on the Laurel Canyon neighbourhood of Los Angeles, which has now become his new book, Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon. We ask the question why, of all places, did LC become the birthplace of the counter-culture/ hippie movement of the mid-1960s, rather than San Francisco as is often assumed, and why did a staggering number of the most prominent musicians from that era just happen to congregate in this community? The waters get muddied when it turns out that LC was home to a covert military intelligence base, and some delving into the backgrounds of the artists reveals that, almost without exception, they came from family backgrounds connected with arms of the government. The most striking example is the father of The Doors' Jim Morrison, who just happened to be US naval commander at the site of the Gulf Of Tonkin false flag incidents that catapulted America into the Vietnam War. This raises the alarming question of whether the hippie movement was as organic and grass-roots as has always been believed, or whether it could have all been a cynically manipulated exercise in mass social engineering and mind control.

"A hit scene from the 1988 classic film "They Live." An economic crisis brings unemployed Nada (Roddy Piper) to L.A. in search of work. His discovery comes when he dons a pair of special sunglasses made by a resistance group and sees for the first time reality unadorned. Billboards, store signs, magazine covers--all bear subliminal messages to OBEY, CONSUME, NOT QUESTION AUTHORITY to have NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT. Money itself says THIS IS YOUR GOD. What he finds instead is that the ruling elite of the world are aliens in disguise, their aim being to keep humans in a state of mindless consumerism. But worst of all, with these glasses you see which of us are really hideous, bug-eyed aliens. The conceptual breakthrough is hilarious while keeping its roots in darker matters. Although some fault the film for settling into its action plot, the ending has a great payoff. And the direction by John Carpenter is handled with superb workmanlike aplomb."

Michael Hudson discusses his seminal work of 1972, Super Imperialism: The Economic Strategy of American Empire, a critique of how the US exploits foreign economies through IMF and World bank debt; difference between the IMF and World Bank; World Bank dysfunctional from the outset; loans made in foreign currency only; policy to provide loans for countries to devote their land to export plantation crops;

US food and monetary imperialism; U.S. agricultural protectionism built into the postwar global system; promotion of dependency on the US as food supplier; food blackmail; perpetration of world poverty preferred; no encouragement of land reform; privatization of the public domain; America aided, not foreign economies; exploitation of mineral deposits; bribery; foreign nations politically controlled at the top; veto power for US only.

The co-founder of Facebook has successfully created a tax boondoggle that will "unlock" up to $6 trillion in investments into low-income areas all over America. This will serve Big Tech in blanketing the nation with Smart City technology leading to the establishment of Scientific Dictatorship, aka Technocracy.

Peter's Whittle's guest this week is free speech campaigner and columnist Brendan O'Neill, editor of Spiked Online and a frequent commentator on Sky News's paper review etc. Starting out on the far left as a writer for Living Marxism, the journal of the Revolutionary Communist Party, Brendan O'Neill now classifies himself as an atheist libertarian. He is no longer as interested in traditional Left/Right political divisions believing, like many others, that these have been superseded by society's new divisions (in essence the platform for the culture wars). Dubbed "The Most Hated Man on UK campuses" by The Tab, He has taken his campaign against censorship and the "no platforming" of speakers to university campuses, attacking the authoritarian, close-minded attitude of the (generally privileged middle class) "woke" students & staff who prefer to shut down debate rather than attempt to rebut challenging views.

"I AM THIS" is a visual feast blurring the boundaries between ourselves and the universe.

Co-written by director Cyrus Sutton and astrophysicist Jon Swift, this three minute short film combines composited nature footage and practical effects to bring patterns in the universe into sharp relief. The music was composed by Mileece I’Anson by harnessing the electrical currents of plants. Instead of using CGI, everything was made by combining naturally captured elements. Nebulas were re-created using inks, lighting bolts and water were simulated by slicing and running electricity through wood.

“I’ve always been fascinated by natural patterns and their commonality between everything from galaxies to atoms. We are pattern readers, we look for familiar shapes to create meaning out of the world around us. Through a series of spiritual experiences over the years I was able to briefly see what seemed like the connections that physicists and mathematicians describe. I’ve always wanted to share these feelings through film and this is my first attempt. I am fortunate to have had the help of talented friends to help bring this to life” - Director Cyrus Sutton.

Want to see “I AM THIS” in person? You’re in luck as Sutton is taking the film on tour across the United States this year, in a mind-blowing experimental fashion at that. Projected inside an 18 foot dome, viewers will be enveloped in a 360-degree universe of stunning visuals and animations. Visit our event website to find out where you can see the “I AM THIS” immersive virtual reality viewing experience in a geodesic dome. http://bit.ly/GuayakiEvents

Whistle blower "Dr. J" details his years of experience with Schizophrenics, the facts that these voices are not hallucinations and the power they actually possess with which to control. Of course pharmacology doesn't want you to know the truth.

James Surowiecki, author of The Wisdom of Crowds and columnist for The New Yorker, explained to us exactly why humans are so much more powerful together than they are alone—and how to harness that power. James uses the term “Collective Wisdom” to speak about what happens when we collaborate -- and the result is far better than work done alone. Together, we can make better decisions, forecast the future, and innovate. That’s the incredible power that community professionals can harness. The key here is creating an environment where communities can collaborate intelligently. The defining elements for this environment are diversity and a positive space for independent thinking. Diverse groups explore larger “solution spaces,” explains James. Even if members of your group, then, know less, they still add value if what they know is different. Community leaders of any type should take this advice to heart, inviting new members into their communities, amplifying diverse voices, and ensuring that their members are able to express their opinions and thoughts freely and openly.
