Carbohydrates are a focal point in most human diets. Does anyone know what they are?

Here is a summary of the video:
Carbohydrates are one of the four biomolecules in the human body.

Functions of carbohydrates include fueling cells, the brain, being a part of DNA and RNA, and temporarily satisfy sugar highs.

Carbs consist of hydrogen and carbon atoms.

Cells play important roles in the human body. Cells do not play so that is a lie.

Here is a summary of the video:
All living beings are made up of the most basic building component of life, Cells.
Cells are made up of biomolecules (proteins, lipids (fats) and carbs). These biomolecules make up the structure and function (actual things the cell does) of the cells.

Functions of cells include breathing, gathering nutrients, releasing waste, reproducing, and other things necessary for self-sustainment.

Groups of cells that are groups together and serve a similar physiochemical purpose are called tissues.
Groups of tissues that do this too are called organs.
Two or more organs that work together to serve a physiological purpose are called organ systems.
An organism is the makeup of all of these things.

This video discusses where energy we consume in the form of food goes/ what it is used for.

Here is a summary of the video: Most of the energy we obtain from consumed foods is used for breathing, causing our heart to beat, muscle contraction, basically when we do nothing (called RMR when sleeping/BMR when awake, about 1440C/day is used for this).

We also use energy to metabolize food. (about 10% of our consumed calories is used for this)

We also direct energy towards our muscles when we are active. Go figure…

This video discusses where energy comes from and how calorically dense different types of foods are.

Here is a summary of the video: Carbs = 4C/g, Protein = 4C/g, Alcohol = 7C/g, Fat = 9C/g.

You probably get fat by eating a lot of carbs and a lot of fats, because your body tends to immediately burn off excess carbs as energy, and fat tends to be immediately stored as energy. So when you consume both, the fat you eat does not get used as energy.
