Alceu Valença (born July 1, 1946) is a Brazilian singer, musician, and songwriter.
He is considered the most successful artist in achieving an aesthetic balance between traditional Northeastern Brazilian music and a broad range of electronic sounds and effects from pop music.
Because of that, Alceu was able to recreate Northeastern traditional music with a sometimes rock sometimes alternative sounding music background.
Because of this, he is know as "The Brazlian Bob Dylan".

Alceu Valença started his musical career in 1968, with the group Underground Tamarineira Village, later known as Ave Sangria.
In 1970, Valença earned a Law degree at the Recife Law School, BUT only followed the career for a few of months before returning to music.
He established himself as a solo artirt in 1972, when he released his first album, "Alceu Valença & Geraldo Azevedo, Copacabana (Quadrafônico)".
Valença recorded 42 albums and toured around the world singing hits like "Tropicana", "Girassol", "La Belle du Jour" and "Anunciação".

In 2012 he called Orquestra de Ouro Preto to work with him on the "Valencianas" project that created orchestral versions for his most known compositions.
He recorded and filmed one of their concerts on November 3, 2012 at the Grande Teatro do Palácio das Artes in the state of Minas Gerais. It was released both on CD and DVD in 2014 as "Valencianas: Alceu Valença e Orquestra Ouro Preto".
With the huge success of the project, "Valencianas II: Alceu Valença e Orquestra Ouro Preto" was recorded, filmed and released on CD and DVD in 2015.
Alceu still tours Brazil and a few contries with his "Valencianas" project.

In June of 1969, the fourth Memphis Country Blues Festival took place at the city’s famed Overton Park Band Shell.
Fueled by the rediscovery of blues artists like Furry Lewis and Mississippi Fred McDowell, the fest had been launched in 1966 by a group of Bluff City blues fans and counter culturalists.
The ‘69 edition – which doubled as a celebration of Memphis’ sesquicentennial -- promised the event’s biggest and most ambitious lineup, one that included ancient blues masters like Sleepy John Estes and Nathan Beauregard, as well as Stax Records stalwarts the Bar-Kays and Rufus Thomas, and rockers like Johnny Winter and Moloch.

Also on hand was a camera crew documenting the three days and two nights of this epochal concert event held within weeks of a KKK rally at the same location.
There are no talking heads, just the unfiltered shots of the concert and its surroundings from the time.

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962.
Active for over six decades, they are one of the most popular and enduring bands of the Rock Era.
The Rolling Stones pioneered the gritty, rhythmically driven sound that came to define Hard Rock in the early 60's and were at the forefront of the British Invasion.
They first found greater success with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (1965), "Get Off of My Cloud" (1965), and "Paint it Black" (1966), "Let's Spend the Night Together" (1967), "Jumpin' Jack Flash" (1968), "Honky Tonk Women" (1969), "Sympathy for the Devil" (1969), "You Can't Always Get What You Want" (1969), "Gimme Shelter" (1970), "Brown Sugar" (1971), "Tumbling Dice" (1972), and "Angie" (1973), "Miss You" (1978) and "Start Me Up" (1981).

After a small hiatus, "Steel Wheels" (1989) was widely considered a comeback album and generated large stadium and arena tours, as the Stones continued to be a huge concert attraction; by 2007 they had recorded the all-time highest-grossing concert tour three times, and as recently as 2021 they were the highest-earning live act of the year.
Until Charlie Watts' death in 2021, the band continued as a four-piece core, with Darryl Jones playing bass on tour and on most studio recordings, while Steve Jordan became their touring drummer following Watts' death.
The Rolling Stones' estimated record sales of 200 million make them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

As a part of their "comeback tour", the Stones performed at the Tokyo Dome in Japan between February 14 and 27, 1990.
Here we bring you the full concert on February 26th.

James Joseph Brown (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006) was an American musician.
The central progenitor of funk music and a major figure of 20th century music, he is referred to by various honorific nicknames, some of which include "the Hardest Working Man in Show Business", "Godfather of Soul", "Mr. Dynamite", and "Soul Brother No. 1".

Brown began his career as a Gospel singer and rose to prominence in the mid-1950s with the hit ballads "Please, Please, Please" and "Try Me".
His success peaked in the 1960s with the live album "Live at the Apollo" and hit singles such as "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "It's a Man's Man's Man's World".
During the late 1960s, Brown moved to a profoundly "Africanized" approach to music-making, emphasizing rhythms that influenced the development of funk music.
By the early 1970s, Brown had fully established the funk sound with records such as "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" and "The Payback".
He also became noted for songs of social commentary, including the 1968 hit "Say It Loud – I'm Black and I'm Proud".

James Brown was one of the first 10 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at its inaugural induction in New York on January 23, 1986.
He continued to perform and record until his death from pneumonia in 2006.
Brown is ranked seventh on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

James performed at the second Woodstock Festival, which commemorated the 30th anniversary of the original, on July 23, 1999.
He was 67 years old.

The Carpenters (officially known as Carpenters) were an American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen (1950–1983) and Richard Carpenter (born 1946).
They produced a distinctive soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills.
During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with many singles and several television specials.

The siblings first performed together as a duo in 1965, signing to A&M Records in 1969 and achieving major success the following year with the hit singles "(They Long to Be) Close to You" and "We've Only Just Begun".
The duo toured continually during the 1970s, which put them under increased strain; Richard took a year off in 1979 after he had become addicted to Quaalude, while Karen suffered from anorexia nervosa.
Their joint career ended in 1983 when Karen died from heart failure brought on by complications of anorexia, but their music continues to attract critical acclaim and commercial success, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

The Carpenters performed at the Festival Hall in Melbourne, Australia, on May 24, 1972. The venue was sold out.

The concert special was originally broadcast in 1985 on Channel 4 in the UK and on Cinemax in 1986 with introductory comments by Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Perkins performed 16 songs with two encores, and his friends ended the session by singing his most famous song, 30 years after its writing, which brought Perkins to tears.
The concert is a memorable highlight of Carl Perkins' later career and has been highly praised by fans for the spirited performances delivered by him and his famous guests.

Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) was an American singer, guitarist and songwriter who pioneered Rock 'n' Roll.
Nicknamed the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll", he refined and developed Rhythm 'n' Blues into the major elements that made Rock 'n' Roll distinctive with songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958).
By the end of the 1950s, Berry was an established star, with several hit records, film appearances, a lucrative touring career and his own St. Louis nightclub, Berry's Club Bandstand.

Writing lyrics that focused on teen life and consumerism, and developing a music style that included guitar solos and showmanship, Berry was a major influence on subsequent Rock music.
In the 1960s, Berry had several more successful songs, including "No Particular Place to Go", "You Never Can Tell", and "Nadine". However, these did not achieve the same success or lasting impact of his 1950s songs.
By the 1970s he was more in demand as a nostalgia performer, but in 1972 he reached a new level of achievement when a rendition of "My Ding-a-Ling" became his only record to top the charts.

Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986; he was cited for having "laid the groundwork for not only a Rock 'n' Roll sound but a Rock 'n' Roll stance."
Berry is included in several of Rolling Stone magazine's "greatest of all time" lists; he was ranked fifth on its 2004 and 2011 lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll includes three of Berry's: "Johnny B. Goode", "Maybellene", and "Rock and Roll Music". "Johnny B. Goode" is the only Rock 'n' Roll song included on the Voyager Golden Record.

On September 13, 1969 Chuck was one of the stars to perform at the Toronto Rock 'n' Roll Revival, a one-day, twelve-hour music festival held in Toronto, Canada featuring a number of popular musical acts from the 1950s and 1960s.
He had not even been considered to appear at the Woodstock Festival a few months earlier.

Francis Albert Sinatra (December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer and actor.
Nicknamed the "Chairman of the Board" and later called "Ol' Blue Eyes", Sinatra was one of the most popular entertainers of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
He is among the world's best-selling music artists with an estimated 150 million record sales.

Sinatra was greatly influenced by the intimate, easy-listening vocal style of Bing Crosby and began his musical career in the Swing Era.
He found success as a solo artist after signing with Columbia Records in 1943, also becoming a highly successful film actor and starring his own TV show.
When his film career stalled in the early 1950s, Frank turned to Las Vegas, where he became one of its best-known residency performers and part of the famous Rat Pack.
He remained a Vegas crooner until the 1980s and was investigated by the FBI for his alleged relationship with the Mafia that ran the casinos.

Frank Sinatra was honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in 1983, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan in 1985, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1997.
He received eleven Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Trustees Award, Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sinatra was included in Time magazine's compilation of the 20th century's 100 most influential people.
American music critic Robert Christgau called him "the greatest singer of the 20th century" and he continues to be regarded as an iconic figure.

In May 1978 Sinatra was filmed during one of his concerts at Caesars Palace for a film project that'd showcase the best bits of shows by the casino's headliners.
It became one of the last concerts where Frank's singing voice was still in optimal shape (he started losing it by the early 1980s).

In May 1974 The King of Rock Elvis Presley was doing some of his best concerts.
Coming from a magnificent March tour that generated the album "As Recorded Live On Stage in Memphis", the singer was in a good mood, apparently without any concerning health issues and ready to rock.

On May 11 Elvis was performing at The Forum in Los Angeles as part of his regular tour. As usual, he did two concerts that day, one at 2:30 pm and another at 8:30 pm.
The 8:30 pm had very special guests - the band LED ZEPPELIN.
Knowing the importance of that band in the music field those days, Elvis was euphoric and nervous. He thought he'd bomb in front of them, but he actually gave a rocking performance.

The concert was first released by Follow That Dream (FTD) in 2007 as a companion to a book tittled "Live in L.A.: An Audiovisual Documentary".
The label re-released only the CD in 2011 as "Live in L.A." to correct some problems in the matrix.

The London Rock and Roll Show was a concert held at Wembley Stadium in Wembley Park, London, England, on 5 August 1972.
It is often said to have been the first ever concert held at the stadium, but a pop concert featuring the bands Status Quo and Yes had been held as part of the Oxfam Walk 1969 charity event at the stadium on 13 July 1969.

From the late 1960s to the early 1970s, many rock and roll performers from the 1950s experienced major career revivals due to a temporary upswing of interest in their form of music.
The concert included performances by major stars including Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Bill Haley & His Comets and Chucky Berry, who at the time was enjoying major chart success with "My Ding-a-Ling".
Originally billed rock and roll era acts The Platters, The Drifters and The Coasters were unable to perform due to work permit issues. The show was opened instead with sets from British rock and rollers The Houseshakers, Joe Brown, Emile Ford & the Checkmates, Screaming Lord Sutch, Heinz and Billy Fury, as well as songs from Jerry Lee Lewis's sister Linda Gail Lewis.

The concert was filmed and released in 1973 as "The London Rock and Roll Show", directed by Peter Clifton.
Although no soundtrack release occurred at the time the film was made, one was finally issued in the early 2000s, followed by several different releases with different combinations of performances.

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals) and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass).
Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock.

The band's 1977 album "News of the World" contained "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions", which have become anthems at sporting events.
By the early 1980s, Queen were one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world.
"Another One Bites the Dust" from "The Game" (1980) became their best-selling single, while their 1981 compilation album "Greatest Hits" is the best-selling album in the UK and is certified nine times platinum in the US.
Their performance at the 1985 Live Aid concert is ranked among the greatest in rock history by various publications.

On July 11 and 12, 1986 Queen performed at Wembley Stadium in London as part of the Magic Tour, their last tour with Freddie Mercury (his last show with the band was on August 9, 1986).
The concerts were filmed and the performance on the 12th aired in UK a few months later.

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012) was an American singer and actress.
Nicknamed "The Voice", she is one of the bestselling music artists of all time, with over 200 million records sold worldwide.
In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked her second on their list of the greatest singers of all time.

Houston influenced many singers in popular music, and was known for her powerful, soulful vocals and vocal improvisation skills.
She is the only artist to have had seven consecutive number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Saving All My Love for You" in 1985 to "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" in 1988.
Whitney also enhanced her popularity upon entering the movie industry, making her acting debut with "The Bodyguard" (1992). She recorded six songs for the film's soundtrack, including "I Will Always Love You" which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and became the best-selling physical single by a woman in music history.

However, her personal problems began to overshadow her career by 1993. Her albums began to receive mixed reviews, while her drug use and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown received widespread media coverage.
Houston returned to the top of the Billboard 200 chart with her final studio album, "I Look to You (2009)", but it was too late for her career and health status.
On February 11, 2012, Houston accidentally drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, with heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors.
Her life and career were dramatised in the 2022 biopic "I Wanna Dance with Somebody".

In 1994, while on her "The Bodyguard Tour", Whitney performed for the first time in Brazil.
Her two concerts, one in São Paulo and another in Rio de Janeiro, for the Hollywood Rock Event were sold out.
She also performed "I Will Always Love You" at the Closing Ceremony for the 1994 World Cup.

The Highwaymen were an American Country music supergroup, composed of four of Country music's biggest artists who pioneered the Outlaw Country subgenre: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.
Between 1985 and 1995, the group recorded three major label albums as The Highwaymen. Their first album was #1, followed by a #4 for the second and ending with the third album at #42 in the US Country chart.
Besides their musical partnership, the four members starred in the 1986 film "Stagecoach" together.

The supergroup was filmed in a concert for the first time in 1990 while performing at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
It was released in VHS the following year and in DVD/Blu-Ray in 2016, this time totally remastered.
