Facebook Will Remove Content With Phrase ‘Stop The Steal’ Ahead Of Inauguration Day
Facebook will start taking down content containing the phrase “Stop the Steal,” the company announced Monday, as tech companies continue an unprecedented crackdown on conspiracy theories that fueled the Capitol riots last week.
KEY FACTS
Facebook said it will remove Stop the Steal content given “continued attempts to organize events against the outcome of the US presidential election that can lead to violence, and use of the term by those involved in Wednesday’s violence in DC.”
Stop the Steal has become a common rallying cry for Trump supporters who believe the president’s false claim that the election was stolen from him due to widespread voter fraud.
Facebook’s move comes as the FBI warned Monday that armed protests are being planned across the country leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Facebook already suspended Trump’s account indefinitely last week and removed the original #StopTheSteal group in days following the election—but enforcement has been rocky, as BuzzFeed News found several Stop the Steal groups were still operating as of Friday last week.
Though some accused Facebook of enabling the rioters, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said Friday the violent protests were largely organized on other platforms.

The 2022 PGA Championship, which had been scheduled since 2014 to be played at Trump National in Bedminster, will not take place there in the wake of the outbreak of violence at the Capitol last week that has been linked to President Donald Trump.
The PGA of America, the governing body for the major championship, on Sunday voted to move the event from the New Jersey golf course because of its ties with Trump.
PGA of America President Jim Richerson said in a tweet on Sunday night that the board voted to exercise its right to “terminate the agreement” with Trump National in Bedminster.

SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook on Thursday said it will block President Trump on its platforms at least until the end of his term on Jan. 20, as much of the mainstream online world moved forcefully to limit the president after years of inaction.

But Twitter, which had locked Mr. Trump’s account on Wednesday for posts that violated its rules, lifted the suspension, allowing the president to tweet. Late on Thursday, Mr. Trump marked his return to social media by posting a two minute 41 second video on Twitter in which he said he would support a peaceful transition of power.

Facebook and Twitter said they made their contrasting decisions for different reasons. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s chief executive, said in a post that the social network decided to cut off Mr. Trump because a rampage by pro-Trump supporters in the nation’s capital a day earlier, which was urged on by the president, showed he wanted to undermine the transition to President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.

“We believe the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great,” Mr. Zuckerberg wrote. As a result, he said, Facebook and its photo-sharing site Instagram would extend blocks, first put in place on Wednesday, on Mr. Trump’s ability to post “until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”

Twitter had said on Wednesday that while it saw a “risk of harm” in Mr. Trump’s messages, the company would only permanently suspend the president’s account if he continued to break its rules. Mr. Trump deleted the tweets that had prompted the locking of his account, Twitter said Thursday, starting a countdown to his access being restored.

Loeffler withdraws objection to Biden victory
Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., said Wednesday she would abandon her objections to the counting of Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden after the rioting at the Capitol.

“I cannot now in good conscience object to the certification of these voters,” said Loeffler, who lost her runoff election Tuesday to the Democrat Raphael Warnock. “The violence, the lawlessness and siege of the halls of Congress are abhorrent and stand as a direct attack on the very institution my objection was intended to protect: the sanctity of the American democratic process.”
She said there were last-minute changes to election rules and “serious irregularities." But she said those were no excuse for the violence of the mob that swarmed and occupied the Capitol.
“There is no excuse for the events that took place in these chambers today,” said Loeffler, who received applause as she finished speaking. “I pray that America never suffers such a dark day again.”

WASHINGTON—Protesters breached the Capitol on Wednesday afternoon as both the House and Senate were meeting inside after President Trump urged demonstrators to march there, urging them to pressure Congress to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s win.
Hundreds of protesters could be seen pushing back police, waving Trump and American flags and cheering from the balconies of the Capitol building. Thousands of protesters surrounded the Capitol on all sides, and some climbed up the outside walls.
The police presence appeared to be minimal, though there were some police in riot gear on the east side of the Capitol by the Senate entrance.
Protesters chanted “Take the building!” and “Stop the steal!”—a popular refrain as Mr. Trump’s supporters challenged the results of the November presidential election.

The protest took place as Congress was set to ratify President-elect Biden’s Electoral College win.
District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a citywide curfew from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. U.S. Capitol Police asked occupants to evacuate two congressional office buildings, according to police alerts sent to staff, as pro-Trump protesters clashed with law enforcement.

Live Updates: Pro-Trump Mob Breaches Capitol, Halting Vote Certification

A person was shot inside the Capitol during a violent protest.

A column of F.B.I. and Department of Homeland Security agents in riot gear entered the Dirksen Senate Office Building around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and officers from Washington’s police force headed to the Capitol in a show of force to end violent protests, looting and vandalism.
A Metropolitan Police commander instructed his officers to stay calm because “it could get crazy in there.”
The F.B.I. had previously considered sending officers to patrol Washington streets in the wake of protests last June, but ultimately decided not to deploy the agents for the planned rally.

One person was shot inside the Capitol after a mob of Trump supporters breached the building, Chief Robert J. Contee of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department said on Wednesday. Chief Contee did not immediately provide more information about the person who was shot or the person’s condition.
“I can confirm that one civilian was reported to have sustained a gunshot wound inside the Capitol,” Chief Contee said, adding that the local police would be leading the investigation.
A video posted to Twitter earlier on Wednesday appeared to show a woman being shot inside the Capitol.

President Donald Trump is in a “really good position” for Wednesday’s challenge in Congress, according to former Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell.
“The Democrats have moved from there’s not any fraud, to there’s not widespread [fraud], and now their new mantra is there is ‘not enough fraud to overturn’ the election,” Grenell told Newsmax, adding that “everybody knows this election was full of fraud.”
About a dozen senators, led by Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), are challenging states’ electoral votes. Well over 40 House lawmakers are also slated to partake in the challenge on Jan. 6 when the Joint Session of Congress meets.
“Every single time we tried to bring this forward to the courts, you know, they’ve just been largely dismissive,” said Grennell, who helped lead Trump’s legal challenges in Nevada. “So I think that the rule of law and the process is that, on Wednesday, we get to showcase this to the politicians and see where the chips fall.”
Grennell also praised Cruz, who called for an “emergency audit” of the election results.
“He is trying every possible legal effort to highlight this fraud, so we just have to have people that are willing to listen,” Grenell said.
On Sunday, Cruz elaborated on the potential challenge.
“I think we in Congress have an obligation to do something about that; we have an obligation to protect the integrity of the democratic system,” he told Fox Business on Sunday. The Republican senator noted that numerous Americans do not believe the Nov. 3 presidential election results were valid as Trump and his team have called for courts and state legislatures to overturn key states’ electoral results.

Sen. Ted Cruz to Democrats calling for his arrest over election audit: 'Calm down'

Sen. Ted Cruz had a message for Democrats suggesting the Texas Republican should be tried for treason for calling for an emergency election audit: Calm down.
Mr. Cruz came under fire after announcing Saturday that he and a group of 11 other GOP senators will vote against the Electoral College results in Wednesday’s joint session of Congress unless lawmakers appoint a commission to conduct a 10-day audit of fraud allegations in disputed states.
“Well, listen, I think everyone needs to calm down. I think we need to tone down the rhetoric,” said Mr. Cruz on Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo.” “This is already a volatile situation. It’s like a tinderbox, and throwing lit matches into it.”

He said “Yesterday … I had multiple, multiple Democrats urging that I should be arrested and tried for the crimes of sedition and treason.”
In a separate statement last week, Sen. Josh Hawley, Missouri Republican, said that he would object to the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election, which saw President-elect Joseph R. Biden declared the winner amid allegations of voter fraud in some key swing states.

Those allegations have been rejected by multiple courts, in some cases on procedural grounds, and then-Attorney General William Barr, who said he found no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would alter the result of the election.
Vice President Mike Pence said Saturday that he welcomes the challenge, citing the “concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities in the last election,” but other Republicans were less enthusiastic.

nventor Jovan Pulitzer joined radio host Monica Matthews on Thursday after his explosive testimony in the Georgia Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Elections on Wednesday.
Jovan Pulitzer destroyed Georgia’s corrupted 2020 election process and results during the hearing on Wednesday. Pulitzer explained how he can look at the Georgia ballots and determine almost immediately if a ballot is fraudulent or not. Pulitzer notes that he can look at 500,000 ballots in a couple hours.
Then following the hearing the subcommittee unanimously passed a motion to audit Fulton County’s absentee ballots with the process Pulitzer outlined during the hearing.
During Thursday’s discussion with Monica Matthews the two discussed the process of exposing ballot fraud via technology along with very heartfelt personal reasons every American should demand the integrity of this election be upheld. Pulitzer also confirmed that China is in fact, online with a GA polling station TODAY.
Pulitzer told Monica Matthews that as soon as he was tasked with auditing the Fulton County ballots trucks pulled up to the facility and the ballots were being loaded into the trucks and were being shredded.

The nation’s 133-year-old law for picking a president has a provision that has never been needed to settle a disputed election, since it deals with a situation that would only happen after a cascade of seemingly improbable events.

Then again, this is 2020, a year that feels cursed with historic worsts.
And election law experts warn that Congress would be wise to clarify the provision before the country potentially faces this worst-case scenario: A full-fledged constitutional crisis if there is no clear Electoral College winner on Inauguration Day on Jan. 20.
“If you’re asking the question what should Congress do to prepare for November, that would be on the top of the list,” said Edward Foley, a constitutional law professor and director of Ohio State University’s election law program, who has written on the provision and hosted a recent online expert roundtable discussion on it.

Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach told Breitbart News on Tuesday that some Republican-majority state legislatures may challenge votes of electors in Congress on January 6, offering his remarks in an interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.
Congress is scheduled to certify the electoral college’s vote on January 6.
Kobach said, “Because the Supreme Court of the United States has not taken the big Texas case, now people are looking at January 6, when it is possible for Congress, this is when Congress accepts the votes of the electors in the electoral college. It is possible for members of Congress to raise objections, and that appears to be what some states are planning.”

For several years there has been talk about a coming American civil war. Such talk wasn’t coming from the fringes, but instead it has slowly become a mainstream talking point as far-left propaganda and fake news drives the country towards insanity.
Well, if you were looking for the exact date the civil war starts, it’s looking to be January 6th, the day that congress officially counts the Electoral College votes.
With the election still up in the air, President Donald J. Trump has called on his followers to arrive in Washington D.C. for that day. It is schedule to be a protest, but also a show of force for those in government to see that Trump still has the support of the people.

Rep. Louie Gohmert and other Republicans filed a lawsuit against Vice President Mike Pence, attempting to reverse President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over President Trump.

The suit asks Texas federal judge appointed by Trump to declare that Pence has the “exclusive authority and sole discretion” to decide which electoral votes from a given state should be counted.

The last-ditch legal effort, filed Sunday, came from Gohmert, an eight-term congressman from Texas, along with 11 Arizona residents who had been nominated by that state’s Republican Party to serve as electors.

It comes over a week before Pence is scheduled to preside over a joint session of Congress where the Electoral College votes for Biden and President Donald Trump will be tallied up.

Electors had already cast their votes two weeks earlier. Biden received 306 electoral votes — 36 more than he needed to win — while Trump received 232.

The suit asks federal Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a Trump appointee in eastern Texas, to declare that Pence has the “exclusive authority and sole discretion” to decide which electoral votes from a given state should be counted.

Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert and a group of other GOP figures filed a lawsuit Sunday against Vice President Mike Pence. The lawsuit focuses on Pence, who will oversee the upcoming Jan. 6 meeting of Congress to count states’ electoral votes.
The case is 6:20-cv-00660 in the Eastern District of Texas, assigned to District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle, a Trump appointee.
According to the Washington Examiner:

“Gohmert’s federal suit, which anticipates the House of Representatives’ Jan. 6 certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win, seeks to give Pence “exclusive authority” over which votes are deemed certifiable. In his complaint, Gohmert argues that since competing sets of electors cast votes calling the election for President Trump, Pence should have the “sole discretion” to determine the legitimacy of votes, per the 12th Amendment.
Gohmert added that in the case of a contested election, the Constitution requires that Pence send the election to the House for a decision.
“Vice-President Pence determines which slate of electors’ votes count, or neither, for that State,” Gohmert’s attorneys wrote, adding, “If no candidate has a majority of 270 elector votes, then the House of Representatives (and only the House of Representatives) shall choose the President.”

(CNN)When Congress met to tally the results of the 2004 presidential election, then-Sen. Barbara Boxer stood alone on the Senate floor to object to President George W. Bush's reelection victory in Ohio over Democrat John Kerry, forcing the House and Senate to vote for only the second time in a century on whether to reject a state's Electoral College votes.

It's the same scenario that could play out next month with President Donald Trump publicly urging his supporters in Congress to object to President-elect Joe Biden's victory in battleground states that expanded mail-in voting amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A group of House Republicans is preparing to object, and they need at least one senator to join them to force the chambers to vote on the matter. While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has privately urged Senate Republicans to steer clear, several senators have declined to rule out taking part, and incoming GOP Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has left open the possibility he will join the effort.

Democrats and even some Republicans are warning against a challenge, despite the precedent laid by Boxer. In an interview with CNN, Boxer said that the circumstances are totally different this year, when Trump and his allies are seeking to overturn a national election result, than when she joined with then-Ohio Democratic Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones to object to Kerry's loss.
"Our intent was not to overturn the election in any way. Our intent was to focus on voter suppression in Ohio," said the retired California Democrat, who says her objection was her proudest moment on the Senate floor. "They're talking about the vote that the presidency was stolen from Donald Trump. It's not even a close comparison."

Congress will count the Electoral College votes in a joint session of Congress on January 6, which represents Trump's final chance to try to overturn the election result he lost to Biden. In reality, Trump's Republican allies have virtually zero chance of changing the result, only to delay the inevitable affirmation of Biden as the Electoral College winner and the next president.

Following through on his previous threat, President Trump has vetoed the $740 million National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a major bill that allocates military funds each year.
In tweets early this month, Trump said he would sink the NDAA if it wasn’t altered to include language “terminating” Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, an essential and previously obscure internet law that the president has had in his crosshairs for the better part of the year.
“Your failure to terminate the very dangerous national security risk of Section 230 will make our intelligence virtually impossible to conduct without everyone knowing what we are doing at every step,” Trump said in a statement on the veto. WASHINGTON -- While Joe Biden is considered president-elect, the 2020 presidential election actually isn't over just yet.

There are several key dates we still need to pay attention to between now and Inauguration Day.

Dec. 1 was the last deadline for states to certify their votes. Here's a look at some of the other key events leading up to Inauguration Day 2021:
Dec. 8: This is the deadline for resolving election disputes at the state level. All state recounts and court contests over presidential election results are to be completed by this date. Trump's campaign is contesting the vote count in several states through legal challenges, but none of those efforts are expected to alter the outcome.
Dec. 14: Electors vote by paper ballot in their respective states and the District of Columbia. Thirty-three states and D.C. have laws or party regulations requiring electors to vote the same way the popular vote goes in the state. In some states, rogue electors can be replaced or subjected to penalties, according to the Congressional Research Service. The votes for president and vice president are counted and the electors sign six "Certificates of the Vote." The certificates, along with other official papers, are sent by registered mail to various officials, including the president of the Senate.
Dec. 23: The electors' ballots from all states must be received by the president of the Senate.
Jan. 3, 2021: New Congress is seated.
Jan. 5, 2021: Georgia Senate runoffs.
Jan. 6, 2021: The House and Senate hold a joint session to count the electoral votes. If one ticket has received 270 or more electoral votes, the president of the Senate, currently Vice President Mike Pence, announces the results. Biden won enough states to be awarded more than 270 electoral votes.

Members of Congress may object to returns from any state as they are announced. Objections must be made in writing by at least one member of the House and one in the Senate. If the objection meets certain requirements, each chamber meets separately to debate the objection for a maximum of two hours. Afterward, each chamber votes to accept or reject the objection. Back in joint session, the results of the respective votes are announced. Any objection to a state's electoral vote has to be approved by both houses in order for any contested votes to be excluded.

If neither presidential candidate got at least 270 electoral votes, the House would decide the election, based on the 12th Amendment to the Constitution. If required, the House would elect the president. Each state delegation has one vote and it takes 26 votes to win.

President Donald Trump shared a must-watch video on Twitter this Sunday to shed light on the issue of massive voter fraud during the presidential election.
One America News Network reported that the video titled "The Plot to Steal America" talks about the alleged massive election fraud that happened during the 2020 U.S. election.

According to Seth Holehouse, creator of the viral video, what he really meant to do was expose the "communist agenda that threatens our freedom and to bring hope to patriots."
The video hinted that all that is happening at the moment points to a radical movement brought about by a "communist agenda"
Since President Trump tweeted the video which was originally shared from YouTube, it went viral on Twitter with almost 130 thousand people reacting to it and another 52 thousand who tweeted about it. However, Twitter has long since censored the video with a tag that says "This claim about election fraud is disputed."

The video, which was uploaded on Dec. 7, talked about the corruption that went down during the 2020 U.S. elections. Holehouse warned Americans that their rights are under attack in the 18-minute long video.
Holehouse said, "The very real truth that our nation is facing, its greatest threat since the American Revolution."

CNN and MSNBC thrived during the Trump years, reaching new heights in ratings and revenue while devoting countless prime-time hours to criticizing a White House antagonist their viewers just could not quit.
Now faced with a Trump-less future, top executives at the rival cable news networks have summoned star anchors and producers to private meetings in recent weeks, seeking answers to a pressing question: What’s next?
People at both networks know that viewers who abhorred President Trump may no longer need their nightly therapy sessions with Rachel Maddow or Don Lemon. And President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. seems unlikely to generate the 24/7 grist of drama and scandal that resurrected cable news, taking it from a dying medium to a focal point of modern politics.
So even as CNN smashed a 40-year viewership record last month and MSNBC notched its highest ratings since its founding in 1996, journalists and executives at the networks say they are uneasy about the year ahead.
“What happens,” asked one MSNBC on-air personality, “when you don’t need us?”
The disquiet extends to the highest echelons.

CNN’s president, Jeffrey A. Zucker, is weighing whether to exit the network amid some tension with his new boss, Jason Kilar, the WarnerMedia chief executive whose background is in tech, not journalism. Mr. Zucker is mulling his options over the holidays and is likely to make a final decision early in the new year, according to several people briefed on his thinking. Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe confirmed that there was foreign interference in the 2020 election, according to CBS correspondent Catherine Herridge.

“Well DNI Ratcliffe leads the 17 intelligence agencies and he has access to the most highly classified information that is held by the US government. And he told CBS News that there was foreign interference by China, Iran, and Russia in November of this year and he is anticipating a public report on those findings in January,” Herridge said on Dec. 3.
Ratcliffe’s office did not immediately respond to The Epoch Times’ request for confirmation of the report.

Ratcliffe’s statement contradicts others made by national security officials.

Christopher Krebs, the recently-fired top cybersecurity official during the presidential election, testified before the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday.

“While elections are sometimes messy, this was a secure election,” Krebs said.

On a Nov. 27 “60 minutes” interview, Krebs was asked what he thought of the Trump legal team’s allegations that votes were tabulated in foreign countries and were manipulated.

“So, all votes in the United States of America are counted in the United States of America,” Krebs said. “I don’t understand this claim. All votes in the United States of America are counted in the United States of America. Period.”

The intelligence communities classified assessment on foreign threats to the 2020 U.S. elections was set to be released by Dec. 18. It is unclear how long the report will be delayed.
EXCLUSIVE: The 2020 Intelligence Community Assessment focused on foreign election influence will be delayed, Fox News has learned, amid a dispute among senior intelligence analysts over whether China sought to influence the election.

"This afternoon the DNI was notified by career intelligence officials that the Intelligence Community will not meet the December 18 deadline, set by Executive Order and Congress, to submit the IC’s classified assessment on foreign threats to the 2020 U.S. elections," Amanda Schoch, Assistant DNI for Strategic Communications said in a statement to Fox News.

"The IC has received relevant reporting since the election and a number of agencies have not finished coordinating on the product," Schoch continued. "The DNI is committed to providing this report to our customers expeditiously."
The report was expected to be released by Friday, but sources familiar told Fox News that there is a dispute within the intelligence community over what should be included in this 2020 ICA.

The magnitude of this ongoing attack is hard to overstate.
The Russians have had access to a considerable number of important and sensitive networks for six to nine months. The Russian S.V.R. will surely have used its access to further exploit and gain administrative control over the networks it considered priority targets. For those targets, the hackers will have long ago moved past their entry point, covered their tracks and gained what experts call “persistent access,” meaning the ability to infiltrate and control networks in a way that is hard to detect or remove.
While the Russians did not have the time to gain complete control over every network they hacked, they most certainly did gain it over hundreds of them. It will take years to know for certain which networks the Russians control and which ones they just occupy.

The logical conclusion is that we must act as if the Russian government has control of all the networks it has penetrated. But it is unclear what the Russians intend to do next. The access the Russians now enjoy could be used for far more than simply spying.
The actual and perceived control of so many important networks could easily be used to undermine public and consumer trust in data, written communications and services. In the networks that the Russians control, they have the power to destroy or alter data, and impersonate legitimate people. Domestic and geopolitical tensions could escalate quite easily if they use their access for malign influence and misinformation — both hallmarks of Russian behavior.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul continues to falsely claim — without proof — voter fraud played a role in the election of President-elect Joe Biden. The Kentucky Republican said during a Wednesday congressional hearing the election "in many ways was stolen."

Paul made that baseless comment during a meeting of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held in Washington, D.C., two days after the Electoral College met nationwide and formally awarded Biden 306 electoral votes versus Trump's 232 electoral votes, based on the certified November election results.

The Electoral College's vote Monday affirmed Biden's victory. In light of that, Kentucky's other Republican senator, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, finally acknowledged Biden as the president-elect on Tuesday. "The Electoral College has spoken," he said that morning.

But Paul, who has represented Kentucky in Congress since 2011, still refuses to recognize Biden's defeat of President Donald Trump.

Similarly, Trump himself continues to falsely claim, without evidence, the election was compromised by voter fraud. He has lost numerous legal challenges over the election results in court over the past several weeks.

During Wednesday's Senate hearing, Paul suggested a ton of cases challenging the election were rejected by the courts only for "procedural and technical reasons."

In actuality, some lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign or its supporters have been dismissed on technical grounds while others were rejected specifically based on the merits of their claims.

In November, a federal judge dismissed a challenge the Trump campaign filed over Pennsylvania's election results and said in his ruling that "this court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations ... unsupported by evidence."

Paul went on to falsely claim during Wednesday's Senate hearing the election was stolen.

"The courts have not decided the facts. The courts never looked at the facts. ... they stayed out of it by finding an excuse," he said. "But the fraud happened. The election in many ways was stolen and the only way it'll be fixed is by, in the future, reinforcing the laws."

The most contentious and controversial presidential election in American history was arguably the 1876 contest between Republican Rutherford B. Hayes and Democrat Samuel J. Tilden.
In Southern states, the voting was marred by threats of violence from Democrats who aimed to keep black voters away from the polls. The Democrats also created ballots that carried pictures of famous Republican Abraham Lincoln to try to trick illiterate voters into choosing Tilden.
At the end of the tumultous campaign, competing political camps in three states each sent two different slates of electors - one for Tilden, the other for Hayes - to Congress.
The dueling slates from Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina arrived with varying degrees of authority; the Republican slate from Louisiana supporting Hayes was sent by the state’s governor while the Democratic slate backing Tilden was sent by that party’s gubernatorial candidate.
The election hinged on the disputed states. If their Republican electoral votes were counted, Hayes would be president. If the Democratic slates were counted, Tilden would be elected.
Since Congress then had no existing procedures to decide which of the disputed returns should be counted, it created a 15-member commission to settle the dispute, with five members each drawn from the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. That commission ultimately voted 8-7 along partisan lines to award each of the disputed electoral votes to Hayes, giving him the presidency.
Democrats accepted the result only after Republicans agreed to withdraw U.S. troops left over from the Civil War from Southern states. The compromise helped usher in the so-called “Jim Crow” era of legalized racial segregation and discimination that would last another century.
A decade later, Congress enacted the Electoral Count Act that was meant to establish a roadmap for resolving disputed elections in the future, though exactly how it would work remains unclear because of ambiguities in the language, election scholars say. The law has never been tested or intepreted by the courts.

I will put this simply–Donald Trump is the duly elected President of the United States. Not Joe Biden.
Thanks to a brave judge in Michigan, we now have indisputable, concrete evidence that the votes tabulated in any county or jurisdiction in the United States using electronic voting machines supplied by Dominion Voting Systems Corporation were tainted and the audit trail required to prove the integrity of those machines has been erased.
You can (and you should) read the damning results of the forensic investigation of the Dominion Voting System machines used in Antrim County, Michigan. Here are the key facts from this investigation:
The machine tabulated results reported on November 3, 2020 show there were 12,423 votes for President–with Joe Biden receiving 7,769 and Donald Trump garnering 4,509. The machine count for 3 November shows that only 56% of the registered voters cast a ballot for President. But a subsequent tabulation three weeks later (21 November) put Trump on top with 9,748 votes to Biden’s 5,960. The total votes for President increased by 3,526 and the turnout approached 73%.
A staggering number of the ballots cast in Antrim required ADJUDICATION. The Dominion system classifies ballots into two categories, 1) normal ballots and 2) adjudicated ballots. Ballots sent to adjudication can be altered by administrators, and adjudication files can be moved between different Results Tally and Reporting (RTR) terminals with no audit trail of which administrator actually adjudicates (i.e. votes) the ballot batch.
In Central Lake Township, for example, 81.96% of the 1,491 total ballots cast were adjudicated, which means that the decision about who received the vote was made by election personnel.
All the ADJUDICATION logs for the November 2020 election cycle are missing while the files for previous years still exist. The lack of current records prevents any form of audit accountability.
All server security logs prior to 11:03 pm on November 4, 2020 are missing. This means that all security logs for the day after the election, on election day, and prior to election day are gone. These logs contain domain controls, authentication failures, error codes, times users logged on and off, network connections to file servers between file accesses, internet connections, times, and data transfers.

A Short History of VIP-NC
The Voter Integrity Project of NC was founded in 2011 by Jay DeLancy and John Pizzo. Their mission was to ensure free and fair elections to all lawfully registered voters. Mr. Pizzo has more than 30 years of private industry experience in the discipline of quality engineering and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt. Scientific Origins

The VIP plan was simple: Mine public data, analyze that data, and let the evidence speak for itself. They fashioned themselves as a “non-partisan” organization because election laws (like the Constitution itself) should rise above political and cultural differences. Open and honest elections are in our entire nation’s best interest.

Starting with a “voter density” study of North Carolina’s 100 counties, they began publishing their research results on-line and sharing it with media, lawmakers, and with peers from other states.

Their second project copied the ground-breaking work of the Miami Herald, who obtained the names and addresses of persons disqualified from jury duty because of their non-US citizen status. This VIP effort led to the discovery of 130 people who had voted before they were disqualified from jury duty, 11 of whom became targets of criminal referrals. This research has led to legislative attempts in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 to require Clerks of Court to share their data with elections officials.

Their third project, garnering national exposure, led to the discovery of almost 30,000 deceased persons who were still registered to vote, some of whom had voting records beyond their date of death. This research identified numerous “data leakage” points in the deceased-voter removal process. It also triggered consultations with election officials that resulted in process improvements for identification and removal of deceased-voters’ records.

The fourth major project involved detecting persons who voted in more than one state during the same Federal election. By matching 11 million Florida voters with the 7 million NC voters, VIP ultimately reported more than 150 voters who were highly likely to have committed this felony. Investigations are ongoing, but the work triggered five initial criminal referrals. As of January 2018, this project has spawned three felony convictions (for details, please click here and here) and numerous consultations with senior election officials in other states. This project (called “FLANC,” as in Florida and NC) also resulted in the first VIP publication that is being sold to the public through Amazon’s marketplace.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -President Donald Trump and 17 U.S. states on Wednesday threw their support behind a long-shot lawsuit by Texas seeking to overturn his election loss by asking the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out the voting results in four states.
Trump, defeated by President-elect Joe Biden in the Nov. 3 election, filed a motion with the court asking the nine justices to let him intervene and become a plaintiff in the suit filed on Tuesday by Republican-governed Texas against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
If the justices let Trump join the lawsuit, it would create the extraordinary circumstance of a sitting U.S. president asking the top American court to decide that the millions of votes cast in the four states did not count. The Republican president lost to Biden in the four election battleground states after winning them in the 2016 election.
Writing on Twitter, Trump said, “This is the big one. Our Country needs a victory!”
In a separate brief, lawyers for 17 states led by Missouri’s Republican Attorney General Eric Schmitt also urged the justices to hear the case.
Election law experts have said the Texas lawsuit stands little chance of success and lacks legal merit.

The lawsuit, the latest in a series of election challenges brought by Trump’s campaign and supporters that so far have failed in numerous courts, was brought by Ken Paxton, the Republican attorney general of Texas and an ally of the president.
In addition to Missouri, the states joining Texas were: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia. All of the states were represented by Republican officials in the filing. All but three of the states have Republican governors.
Trump has falsely claimed he won re-election and has made baseless allegations of widespread voting fraud. Election officials at the state level have said they have found no evidence of such fraud.
Officials from Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have called the lawsuit a reckless attack on democracy. It was filed directly with the Supreme Court rather than with a lower court, as is permitted for certain litigation between states.
The New York Times, quoting an unnamed source familiar with the discussion, reported that Trump has asked Republican U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas to argue the case if the Supreme Court agrees to hear it.

‘ZERO CHANCE’
“Both procedurally and substantively, it’s a mess,” Justin Levitt, an election law professor at Loyola Law School in California, said of the Texas lawsuit. “There’s zero chance the court agrees to take the case.”
The Texas suit argued that changes made by the four states to voting procedures amid the coronavirus pandemic to expand mail-in voting were unlawful. Texas asked the Supreme Court to immediately block the four states from using the voting results to appoint presidential electors to the Electoral College.
Biden has amassed 306 electoral votes - far higher than the necessary 270 - compared to Trump’s 232 in the state-by-state Electoral College that determines the election’s outcome. The four states contribute a combined 62 electoral votes to Biden’s total.
Texas also asked the Supreme Court to delay the Dec. 14 date for Electoral College votes to be formally cast, a date set by law in 1887.

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 conservative majority includes three justices appointed by Trump. Before the election, Trump said he expected its outcome to be decided by the Supreme Court.

Updates to our work supporting the integrity of the 2020 U.S. election.
Over the past weeks and months, we’ve seen people coming to YouTube to learn more about where and how to vote or learning more about a candidate or an issue. We’ve seen news organizations grow their audience. And we’ve seen people turn to YouTube for the latest election results or simply to follow an historic event with the highest voting turnout in over a century in the U.S.

Our main goal going into the election season was to make sure we’re connecting people with authoritative information, while also limiting the reach of misinformation and removing harmful content. The work here is ongoing and we wanted to provide an update.
Removing content that violates our policies

Our Community Guidelines prohibit spam, scams, or other manipulated media, coordinated influence operations, and any content that seeks to incite violence. Since September, we've terminated over 8000 channels and thousands of harmful and misleading elections-related videos for violating our existing policies. Over 77% of those removed videos were taken down before they had 100 views.

We also work to make sure that the line between what is removed and what is allowed is drawn in the right place. Our policies prohibit misleading viewers about where and how to vote. We also disallow content alleging widespread fraud or errors changed the outcome of a historical U.S. Presidential election. However in some cases, that has meant allowing controversial views on the outcome or process of counting votes of a current election as election officials have worked to finalize counts.

Yesterday was the safe harbor deadline for the U.S. Presidential election and enough states have certified their election results to determine a President-elect. Given that, we will start removing any piece of content uploaded today (or anytime after) that misleads people by alleging that widespread fraud or errors changed the outcome of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, in line with our approach towards historical U.S. Presidential elections. For example, we will remove videos claiming that a Presidential candidate won the election due to widespread software glitches or counting errors. We will begin enforcing this policy today, and will ramp up in the weeks to come. As always, news coverage and commentary on these issues can remain on our site if there’s sufficient education, documentary, scientific or artistic context.

Connecting people to authoritative information

While only a small portion of watch time is election-related content, YouTube continues to be an important source of election news. On average 88% of the videos in top 10 search results related to elections came from authoritative news sources (amongst the rest are things like newsy late-night shows, creator videos and commentary). And the most viewed channels and videos are from news channels like NBC and CBS.

We also showed information panels linking both to Google’s election results feature, which sources election results from The Associated Press, and to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) “Rumor Control” page for debunking election integrity misinformation, alongside these and over 200,000 other election-related videos. Collectively, these information panels have been shown over 4.5 billion times. Starting today, we will update this information panel, linking to the “2020 Electoral College Results” page from the Office of the Federal Register, noting that as of December 8, states have certified Presidential election results, with Joe Biden as the President-elect. It will also continue to include a link to CISA, explaining that states certify results after ensuring ballots are properly counted and correcting irregularities and errors.”

"The state of Texas filed an audacious lawsuit in the Supreme Court on Tuesday against four other states, asking the justices to extend the Dec. 14 deadline for certification of presidential electors.

The suit, filed by the state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, said Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin had engaged in election irregularities that require investigation, and it asked the court to “enjoin the use of unlawful election results without review and ratification by the defendant states’ legislatures.”

Legal experts called the suit outlandish, and it comes at a time when Mr. Paxton is battling a scandal in his own state over whistle-blower allegations that he engaged in bribery and other wrongdoing to illegally help a wealthy Austin real estate developer and political donor.

“It looks like we have a new leader in the ‘craziest lawsuit filed to purportedly challenge the election’ category,” Stephen I. Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas, wrote on Twitter.

The Constitution gives the Supreme Court “original jurisdiction” to hear disputes “in which a state shall be party.” In such cases, the Supreme Court acts much like a trial court, appointing a special master to hear evidence and issue recommendations. Though the Constitution seems to require the court to hear cases brought by states, the court has ruled that it has discretion to turn them down and often does.

When the court does exercise its original jurisdiction, it is usually to adjudicate disputes between two states over issues like water rights. In 2016, the justices turned down a request from Nebraska and Oklahoma to file a challenge to Colorado’s legalization of recreational marijuana. The states said the Colorado law had spillover effects, taxing neighboring states’ criminal justice systems and hurting the health of their residents.

Texas asked the justices to put its case on an exceptionally fast track, but the court has acted with measured deliberation in considering similar requests and may defer consideration of whether to hear the suit until it can have no practical impact. Indeed, the Dec. 8 safe harbor deadline, which largely insulates states that have certified their election results from legal challenges, is about to pass.

In a blog post, Richard L. Hasen, a law professor at the University of California, Irvine, called the Texas filing a “press release masquerading as a lawsuit.”

He listed what he said were its shortcomings: “Texas doesn’t have standing to raise these claims as it has no say over how other states choose electors; it could raise these issues in other cases and does not need to go straight to the Supreme Court; it waited too late to sue; the remedy Texas suggests of disenfranchising tens of millions of voters after the fact is unconstitutional; there’s no reason to believe the voting conducted in any of the states was done unconstitutionally; it’s too late for the Supreme Court to grant a remedy even if the claims were meritorious (they are not).”
