Dr Lisa Wiedeman talks about cholesterol, sunlight and more

Dr. Lisa Wiedeman became carnivore because she had a 30-year history of disordered eating and binge eating. She discovered the zero-carb forum in 2009 and connected with people who had used this way of eating to overcome their disordered eating. She is passionate about sharing her story and being an example for others. She started the lion diet challenge to focus on eliminating dairy from her diet. She believes that sugar and carbs are highly addictive, and that big food and the medical healthcare industry are not reliable.

Carnivore JT explains that his goal is to help people understand the arguments against the carnivore diet and how to combat them. These include questions about vitamins and minerals, heart disease, and fiber. He also discusses how his content is mostly cooking reels, recipes, and reactions to videos related to carnivore diet misinformation. He admits that sometimes he has a sarcastic tone and is not always upbeat, but he wants to provide a different perspective on the diet.
On the Carnivore Diet JT says “I don't have to time my meals before workouts, I just eat when hungry and workout when I can fit it in. Most of the people I coach are just trying to figure out why their previous diets weren't working, and usually it's because they were restricting too much and not focusing on proper nutrition.”
JT is one of the few people who became a carnivore out of choice, not necessity. He was in good shape in his 20s but gained weight in his 30s. He tried Whole30 but felt terrible and regained the weight. He then found Paul Saladino's profile and tried an animal-based diet which instantly made him feel better. He lost weight and started feeling more energetic. He then went full carnivore and saw even more improvements in his health.

Welcome to my interview with Emily Harper where she discusses her health journey, which includes previous conditions such as shingles, Crohn's disease, IBS, temporomandibular joint issues, gastroesophageal reflux disease, depression, and anxiety. She explains that she dealt with these issues through various diets and medications before discovering the carnivore diet and that was the one that seemed to fix them all!

She also mentions that she has struggled with her weight but has seen great improvements while on the carnivore diet. Emily also talks about being a living kidney donor. She had struggled with weight issues since childhood and had tried multiple diets and diet pills. She was also dealing with Crohn's disease and type 2 diabetes. In June 2020, she came across carnivore and decided to give it a try. She struggled to stick with it but eventually joined Kelly Hogan's coaching program. In 2021, she went through a messy breakup and turned to emotional eating.
Emily talks about how she went from 210 lbs to 160lbs in nine months after following a carnivorous diet for six and a half months. She also talks about how she started eating carnivorous and how it influenced her overall well-being. I asked Emily about the difference between movement and exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Alison Smart and the Alliance to Protect Insulin Choice are asking Novo Nordisk to slow down the discontinuation of Levemir (detemir) insulin until a biosimilar is widely available. She educates about the differences between Levemir (detemir) and the two remaining basal insulins (glargine insulins and degludec), and why it is essential this unique insulin stays obtainable.

This is an interview with Alison Smart where she talks about how her daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago and all the types of insulins that are used to manage it. She also discusses the issue of the discontinuation of one of the insulins and how it will affect patients and their treatments. Allison shares about how she manages her daughter's type 1 diabetes by following a low-carb, high-protein diet. This has helped her daughter maintain stable blood sugar levels and overall better health. Allison's family also follows this diet and they have become healthier as a result. They eat similar types of food to everyone else but make small changes to make them more diabetes-friendly. Allison's daughter has adjusted well to this lifestyle, and they still enjoy treats like root beer floats using sugar-free subs

True, lasting..

In this video I interview Dr. Mark Szabo who had a previous video with the me a few years back. In the original video, we talked about Mark's struggles with weight and his journey towards a carnivore diet. In this update video, Mark shares that he has lost 120 pounds since he started the carnivore diet and has seen significant improvements in his health and well-being. He talks about his experiences with the diet, including his challenges and successes.

Mark became carnivore because he realized he always preferred meat and felt better when he didn't eat other foods that didn't work for him. When he first met Stephen three years ago, he struggled with constantly eating and cravings for sugary and floury foods. He didn't think he could go a day without a lot of eating. However, now that Mark is eating carnivore, he has been able to stick to one meal a day and experiences mental clarity, even moods, and more energy along with the fantastic loss of body fat.

Alison is rallying support for her cause and advocating for the insulin to be kept on the market for the sake of those who rely on it for their health. She has started a petition and created an organization called the Alliance to Protect Insulin Choice. She encourages people to reach out to their representatives and share their stories about the importance of this medication.

Valerie tells us in this interview that she is a carnivore because when she was young, existing on vegetables wasn’t enough and she became malnourished and anxious and depressed. She began several hospitalizations which just lead to an IV tube that was basically feeding her junk food. This didn’t help. Later she had many issues caused by the things she was doing and doctors suggested were a result of a lack of certain proteins and calcium which she wasn’t getting. She tried many things to deal with it but since starting to eat primarily meat Valerie started overcoming 20 physical illnesses and 6 mental illnesses, including anorexia. All thanks to the carnivore diet. She also discusses the benefits of doing an oxalate protocol, which involves slowly reducing oxalate-rich foods to avoid painful oxalate dumping.

Valerie also shares that she has read many books on anxiety and nutrition. She found it helpful as it recommends foods to help with anxiety. Valerie also mentions the importance of finding replacement foods instead of feeling deprived. The trigger for her anxiety started at a young age due to poor nutrition, gut damage from antibiotics, and trauma from her father leaving the family. However, therapy and healing have helped her deal with some of the emotional aspects, but not the mental illness.

Bob talks about being a diabetic and how shortly after starting a carnivore diet his swollen feeling in his feet (a sign of diabetic neuropathy) disappeared. He discusses his 35 year-long gout problem and how 23 months of carnivore has stopped the gout attacks in their tracks! Not forgetting his Type 2 diabetes diagnosis and how he was initially told to give up meat, which he did! But it did nothing except see his uric acid levels going extremely high, this was despite being vegetarian. He also describes his other health improvements including curing fatty liver and chronic kidney disease.

Bob became carnivore because he had health problems for over 35 years. As mentioned, gout was the biggest issue, Type 2 diabetes was not controlled, and pain was so bad it stopped him being able to stand for just a few minutes. He was following a high-carb, low-fat diet, and was on over 20 medications.

After researching the carnivore diet online and watching videos by Dr. Ken Berry, he decided to give carnivore a try. Within two years, he has lost 150 pounds, reversed his type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, and chronic kidney disease and more!
