Spent the evening relaxing to the sound of rain on a tarp. Trying out some new gear and modifications to the Jeep.

The weather had called for snow earlier in the week but temperatures were just a bit too high for the elevation I was at. We end up getting enough rain to melt most the snow and turn the campsite into a muddy mess.

I have been working on a new camp setup for the Jeep, this is the first overnight with the new mods. A tailgate table to cook on and a few organization mods making cam setup a bit quicker and more organized.
For this trip I decided to just sleep in the 2 door wrangler, a bit small but
definitely doable. It is how I will use the Jeep when scouting new areas or when I am moving from camp to camp. It is also nice not having to put a tent on the muddy ground, less clean up at home. It would be nice to someday have a roof top tent, but I have had them in the past and it was not my favorite way to camp.

Most reliable trail vehicle, Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra.
Jeep 3.6 Oil Cooler failure.
Apparently my Jeep took notice of my slight comment suggesting Jeep is not very reliable. It decided to spew oil all over itself and throw a fit to prove how reliable it is, and demands a public apology.

One last trip to the mountains before a storm blows in heavy snow an blocks the area for the season. Warm cozy hot tent with good food, relaxing and enjoying the snowfall. Then it hits early, hard wind, sleet and the danger of falling trees.

Ride along as we explore a deep mountain trail that leads to an abandoned mine. We will explore the area and ride some excellent trails on the T-dub.
This is the kind of adventure I bought the little TW200 for, putting along taking in the sights and sounds of an area. Too often on bigger bikes the trend is to fly through an area on a quest to crush miles. The TW200 is a bit different, encouraging a slower pace and "take every path" kind of mindset.

Quick Review of a nice little Ultralight Fixed blade. A great option for a lightweight fixed blade for EDC or slip into a pack for precise work cleaning game, fish, meal prep or other tasks needing a really slicey blade.

DR 650 riding off road trails and single track. I am not a professional rider just an average Dual Sport adventure seeker. This bike is very capable but forgiving. With a few mods it makes a competent budget adventure bike.

IMS 4.9 fuel tank

The first bike I have ever purchased that I really did not like.

Follow along to see the transformation of this bike through mods and upgrades to see if I can find that ever-elusive unicorn of on and off road performance.
This bike was kind of an accidental purchase for me having had a few bad dealings on CL with people trying to set up bidding wars, and the speed at which good deals were selling... it was a mess.
I ran across this bike and with a little research found they have a very loyal following. It looked like it would fit the bill for what I was looking for. I wanted something a little bigger than my CRF250 for moto camping, but maybe a little more nimble off road than my KLR650 or my massive 700lb Super Tenere 1200.
This bike had low-ish miles and was very clean for the year. Now its time to add the upgrades to suit my riding. I am generally a very mellow rider, a 50/50 dirt pavement rider. I enjoy camping from a bike and just general exploring forest roads, dirt tracks and out of the way places. These videos will be a way to link up with other riders and track my progress as time goes on. Will this be the perfect mid sized dual sport adventure bike.... I doubt it but it will probably get the job done!

Pulled my kayak into a little known lake for some multi species fishing. I was hoping for some kokanee and also crappie, bass or bluegill. The weather turned a bit ugly for a while. I had to bust out my best trout fishing setup for these stocked trout it was a very slow day. I even tried a little shore fishing with bobber and worm, jigs, bait corn. Almost 8 hours on the water ha ha ha, It turned out to be another interesting day fishing in Eastern Washington.

Fishing trip for Bass and Bluegill in a hidden lake only accessible by small boat or kayak. Ended up a successful trip catching some smaller bluegill and a few nice bass just for fun. I also rescued a small bird that was floating in the middle of the lake. This lake is one of my favorite places to spend a day - GONE FISHIN!

I am not a huge bass fisherman but will throw a bait when the opportunity presents itself. My go-to best baits for bass are a smallish purple soft plastics worm, a mid size rainbow trout colored tube jig or the occasional small crankbait.

For panfish I tend to throw a small 1" tube with light jig head tipped with worm. I prefer natural colors but red, yellow, chartreuse mixes work well too. I have been experimenting a lot more with different grubs and small baits for crappie and perch this year. It is easy to get set on a particular style/color of bait and miss out on other effective methods.

Sharing my technique how to catch trout in a lake. Today I will be going for rainbow trout in a bigger lake and bigger boat. I will go over what I use to catch trout reliably any season with some tips thrown in for when it slows down.

I was lucky enough to find morels on my last camping trip. I thought I would show the type of areas they can be found in and share a simple recipe to cook them.
While not quite what I was looking for on this trip, a delicious find none the less! These wild mushrooms are delicious, easy to identify ( there are a few look alikes so be careful) and abundant for a short time. They pair really well with most wild game and can be cooked many different ways, alone as a snack, omelets or in a stew. What you don't eat right away can be stored for later. I have had really good luck with drying and vacuum sealing them.

Today I am taking a trip to a small lake that I have not been to for years. The lake was rehabilitated in 2017 by WDFW. I was curious to see how it was for fishing. The weather started very cold in the morning at 39f, it was windy but warmed up a bit by the afternoon. I managed to catch two very old looking stocked trout. I kept the smaller one as he had been hooked deep. The larger of the two I released, looked pretty beat up and these big old fish are not the best for cooking. I was using Macks lures mini wiggle squids behind a small flasher tipped with worm. I fished for about 7 hours did not have any luck with other species. I thought it was odd to not have caught any smaller trout either. The cold weather may have played a part.

I was lucky enough to film my first turkey hunt. It is one I will remember for a long long time! Tons of vocalizations and call interactions with birds up close and personal.
I started scouting this location before the hunt, spending a few days getting stuck in snow and cutting downed trees from the road. I marked a few birds, spent a lot of time studying maps and planning potential strategies.
I made a huge mistake that almost cost my hunt and had to spend several hours getting a replacement tag. Once back in camp I set up and make dinner, walleye tacos! Once dusk was upon me I went down and listened for roosting birds. This was a very positive sign for the morning.
After laying in the dark for hours anxious to get out Dawn finally arrived and the show started with lots of gobbling! The early hours of the hunt were a bit rocky, failing to get a positive response from the bird I thought there were other hunters in the area... not likely. Turned out there was just a lot of vocal birds in the area and I had to set and wait my turn for attention from the Big Ol mountain tom. Persistence pays off as I get multiple hens to surround my decoy and help entice a bird to wander into the deep woods clearing I was set up in.

I decided to film an early spring trip to the mountains. I was hoping to do a little fishing and camping, film some axe stuff as well as scout out some possible turkey spots. What ended up happening was a little different than planned, I did a ton of shoveling and trail clearing. It was a blast.

The heroes of the trip were definitely my ActionTrax recovery boards and my Greenworks electric saw. Two items I picked up in the last couple years to assist when exploring solo.

I did not see much in the way of turkey but had a super fun time just getting out of the house and exploring. Early spring is a fun time to be out, normal roads are often covered in snow still and the trees that were downed over winter add a challenge.

This video is for people new to catch and cooking fish. It includes how to clean and properly care for your trout once you have caught one. I show one of my favorite recipes for cooking trout. A simple recipe with few ingredients that can be done in the field or at home.

Remember to treat your fish like a premium food: you would not drag chicken around warm muddy water for 4 hours before cooking it so don't do it to your fish either!

Recipe as follows:

Ingredients:
Sliced jalapeno, sliced garlic, fresh dill, lemon, olive oil or butter, seasoning of choice, or salt and pepper

Directions:
Catch Trout
Clean and scale trout, put on ice.
Once ready to cook lightly score fish skin every inch or so
Apply seasoning of choice
Coat fish with oil or butter
Prep pan with oil and pre cook garlic and jalapeno infusing flavors
Remove garlic and jalapeno when lightly cooked
Stuff fish cavity with lemon and fresh herbs, garlic, jalapeno etc
Fry fish in skillet or cook on BBQ until meat is no longer translucent and flakes easily
Cook side dishes, Enjoy!

This recipe works well with most fish, and many ingredients. For a kick use lime instead of lemon, stuff trout with mushrooms and onions. Cook on BBQ with heavy smoke, or bake in the oven. It is a very versatile way to cook.

The last review I posted was on the Cold Steel Hudson Bay Hawk, The video had good response from viewers. In the comments there were comparisons brought up and people ask "which is better". I expected comparisons to the Pipe Hawk and the Frontier hawk but I was surprised at the number of people wanting a comparison to the H&B Med Camp Hawk. I also received the same on other platforms. This video is a response to that feedback.

I also post my videos on Bit Chute (zeuki1) and on Odysee/LBRY (zeuki1)

Out comparing a few loads in my Rossi R92 lever action. A light 125 grain powder coated hand loaded 38 and a 158 grain 357 magnum factory load. Just showing the variety of loads that can be used in this handy little rifle. The impact sounds on steel plates really show the difference in the two at 60 and 90 yards.

This is an in filed Review of the Cold Steel Hudson Bay Tomahawk. I give my initial impressions of The latest offering from Cold Steel in their tomahawk line. This is not an in depth review, that will come later. I have had many people ask me what I thought of the new hawk and I have had it out on a few outings so I decided to give my thoughts.

The Short? I like it a lot. I will spend more time with it this season and see if my thoughts change. For now I am thinking this is my new favorite tomahawk from Cold Steel. Weight and function are spot on with the Pipe Hawk, but it has more of a beard for more utility and it also has a larger hammer face for better usability. The weight is nearly identical to the Pipe Hawk at 16.5 oz. There is also more contact between the head and handle for a more secure fitment.

The only down side I see is that the blade is very thin and has no swell in the cheek area. This will make if perform poorly at splitting larger rounds of firewood. Another minor thing is the price will be a little high as it is a new model and normally that tends to last a few months to a year.

The Viking Battle axe was not designed to be the best or even good at chopping firewood...but should the Zombie Apocalypse never occur can you still get your moneys worth out of this Xtra Large Pointy piece Of Steel On a Stick ?

Do you need a sheath for your Viking battle axe, or other Cold steel tomahawk? I am making them and they are available on ebay ( I hope to have a website but it will be a while). Here is my seller page link :https://www.ebay.com/usr/ratherbwheelin?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Or you can message me directly if you want something done that you dont see listed. I do most the cold steel stuff, and some others. I am also considering doing custom work if you want to ship your item... my contact email is in the about page. I accept paypal.

Pipe hawk, trail hawk, frontier hawk, rifleman, viking hand axe, fiskars x7, and some other stuff.

I am still working on pricing, trying to keep it resonable while using well made components, and paying listing/seller fees. I am also looking at shipping to other countries as requested by a few people.

I would like to thank all my viewers and those who have purchased a sheath or hawk holder from me. IF you have questions or comments/suggestions lets hear them. I am trying to get to some of the more popular ones, but of course money doesn't grow on trees and I have to purchase the items to make molds out of, so please consider that. Also some things are just not practical due to time and cost issues or shipping... however if you just plain want something done or want to discuss sending me a one off hawk head I am willing to discuss it, my email is on my about page!
