A pseudo-documentary in style with an emphasis on the daily work and routine of women police officers built around three different story lines. The three plotlines comprise a female army deserter guilty of bigamy, a toddler neglected and beaten by its step mother and an 18-year-old girl who is caught shoplifting and gets involved with a jewel thief. The film climaxes in a police dog attack on a criminal.

A family living 50 miles away try to flee from the fallout of an atomic bomb that fell on New York City.

"Atomic Attack" is an excellent little window into the 1950s. While it all seems a bit quaint and dated today, nuclear war was a serious and a reasonable concern. Tensions were amped up with the huge nuclear build-up of the Cold War. The story begins in the New York suburbs. Very soon, there is a nuclear attack on the city. The film follows a family and their neighbors during the aftermath of the war. In many ways, the film was designed to dispense information--what to do and what not to do before, during and after the attack. The show also gave the unrealistic impression that nuclear wars were imminently survivable and that in the end, the USA would win....though common sense says no one wins in such a scenario.

The 1953 Mattel Dream Car was the first toy car made by Mattel. It was designed by Elliot Handler one of the founders of Mattel and Joseph Kossoff. We will also be looking at the Mattel XP-1960 which was released in 1954. Lastly i will briefly talk about The 1960 Dart, i was not able to find a model of this car but i will go over what i know about it with pictures and backgrounds.

It was just recently announced that the Dream Car will be made into a 1:64th Scale Hot Wheels diecast Car, and inspired me to dig a little deeper into the history of this car.

1950s television was a carefully set trap. To lure a mouse into the trap, you’ve got to insert some cheese. America society was prevailingly Christian then. To get television into those households required presenting it as a purveyor of Christian morals, however repugnant that may have been to studio heads’ true feelings.

An episode of the 1950s anthology series "Telephone Time".

In this episode, set shortly after WW2, a Polish man who fought against the nazis finds himself arrested by the Soviets. Zbigniew Stypułkowski (March 26, 1904 – March 30, 1979) was a Polish lawyer and politician, Member of the Council of National Unity. In 1944 he took part in the Warsaw Uprising. In March 1945 he was arrested by the NKVD and brought to Moscow. After 3 months of interrogations the Soviets fail to get a confession due to Stypułkowski's faith in God.

A "Red Scare" short that sounds a lot like it came out of today's headlines.
A film that seems more true now then in it's release.

Screamin' Jay Hawkins sings (screams) “I Put A Spell On You”. The song was banned from the radio after it’s 1956 release because it was so outrageous,. Screamin’ Jay stated that he was quite drunk when he recorded the record, so drunk in fact that he had little to no memory of the recording session. I'm not certain when this video performance took place, but this is some damn (excuse my French) fine rock and roll.
