Exceedingly interesting facts about Saturn and astronomy, and other important observations and ramifications.

1 month, 1 week ago

The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), is currently the largest radio telescope in the world. This achievement is the result of an international association between Europe (ESO), North America (NRAO) and East Asia (NAOJ), in collaboration with the Republic of Chile, to build the observatory of the “Dark Universe”. This radio telescope is composed of 66 high-precision antennas, which operate on wavelengths of 0.32 to 3.6 mm. Its main array has fifty antennas, each with 12-meter diameters, which act together as a single telescope: an interferometer. This is complemented by a compact array of four antennas with 12-meter diameters and 12 antennas with 7-meter diameters. ALMA’s antennas can be configured in different ways, spacing them at distances from 150 meters to 16 kilometers, giving ALMA a powerful “zoom” variable, which results in images clearer than the images from the Hubble Space Telescope.

A giant flare that swept through the solar system in April sent scientists on investigation deep into space to uncover the high-energy burst's origin – and the hunt is finally over.
A group of researchers led by the University of Johannesburg revealed the explosion, dubbed GRB 200415A, was released from a magnetar — a neutron star with a strong magnetic field – located in a spiral galaxy 11.4 million light-years away.

What is the size of space just to the nearest star? On a "feeling" or "emotional" level. That is important. If we don't know this, we simply don't know reality.

Recently, I was motivated to think about this by watching a long 3 1/2 hour youtube on getting a spaceship to a planet on one of the nearest stars to earth.

Nos tenemos que preguntar: ¿fue este colapso realmente un accidente, falta de mantenimiento, o fue programado intencionalmente? En este vídeo analizamos cual puede ser la real causa.

The Garabandal apparitions (1961-1965) began on June 18, 1961 when four girls - eleven and twelve years old - said that they saw an angel in the rural village of San Sebastián de Garabandal in the Peña Sagra mountain range in the autonomous community of Cantabria in Northern Spain.

The visitations numbered in the thousands, drew huge crowds, and featured phenomena, much of it filmed or photographed, with thousands of witnesses.

The apparitions predicted three supernatural events. Two, the Warning and Miracle, will occur. The third, the Chastisement, is conditional on how the world reacts to the first two.

The Warning is described as a momentary stopping of all time and energy, with all people then seeing the spiritual condition of their souls, and how they should amend their ways. It will last about 15 minutes. It was said to be coming when "the situation was at the worst" and when "Communism comes again." It will coincide with a celestial event "beginning with the letter A" which will "look like two stars colliding."

Within a year of the Warning, a Miracle will take place. The Miracle will leave a permanent sign in Garabandal, which can be seen and photographed, but not touched. The sick present will be healed. The Miracle will occur between March and May and the primary seer Conchita Gonazalez, who now resides in New York State, will announce the date of the Miracle eight days in advance.

Since arriving at asteroid Bennu in Dec. 2018, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission has achieved many feats – from setting a record-breaking orbit, to mapping the asteroid’s surface better than any planetary body. The mission is now preparing to collect a sample of Bennu, which will be the first time that NASA has gathered pieces of an asteroid. On Oct. 20, the OSIRIS-REx mission will perform the first attempt of its Touch-And-Go (TAG) sample collection event.

Here is some footage of Mars.
I have taken some screenshots to help aid some clarity, but please feel free to edit this footage to gain more clarity, as we only have a cheap Tripod which is far from steady, just like me :)
There was no Cloud cover at the time of recording & all the small video clips in this compilation have been Silenced & Stabilised.

Thing is, even looking up at Mars while outside, something just didn’t look right with it. It looked like it was in slices long before I even got the P1000 anywhere near it. Now, with Mars, the height & angle made it hard to avoid the window frame to its left, but, taking that into account, it is still not what I expected.
Mars is in Vertical Slices & occasionally looks like a bloody Mushroom?

Please go outside on a Clear night & take a look at Mars yourself, if possible, as I just don’t think that these it looked right on the 10th?

I decided to build a planeterium this week, I always loved astronomy. This was an old race from 2 years ago, when I opened it up last weekend to have a look, most of the pictures had gone offline, the planetarium was not bad at all for a first attempt but I decided to rebuild it and redo the lighting from scratch.Lighting has to be built in layers and slowly, lighting is hard to get right. It took me forever to download all the foto's, then the game would not run without stuttering because there are so many pictures displayed on 3 dimensuional cubes in one area, the game and my computer are absolutly on max capacity before they just give up and die. There is also another race circuit on the roof with pictures on cubes too, that was a big problem causing the game to stutter, until I deleted them and redownloaded them onto flat 2 dimensional pictures only, then the stuttering almost stopped.I have made 3 races from this map, Race To The Stars, that is finished, I have the video ready too, I will upload that after this, it is a 2 lap race around the planetarium.Chasing Comets is on the roof, I still have to make that so a day or 2 maybe it id finished.
