What to do when the G8 alternator is stuck in alternator bracket, and things I learned the hard way replacing my G8 alternator. TL;DR there's sleeves on the bracket that may need to be lubricated then compressed to get it out. And the bracket should be removed and lubricated if the alternator doesn't slide right out. The new one is a 92258220 ACDELCO 170amp and is @ 15v with 2 rockford fosgate P3s and a SKAR 2000.1D .. this is for the L76 motor not V6, G8 GT 6.0L alternator replacement and possibly applicable to LS3

HD version will be on my odysee page. posting here too for mirroring purposes https://odysee.com/@Hexagod:3

112W Explosion Proof Paint Spray Booth Lay-In LED Fixture - C1D2 - (4) 4' Lamps - Rear Access

This amazing new Paint Spray Booth Lighting is great for automotive painting, powder coating and inspection booths.

The Larson Electronics HAL-RA-48-4L-LED Paint Spray Booth Lay-In Panel Light Fixture is designed for robust illumination in hazardous locations. Consisting of four, 4` LED lamps, this 112-watt lighting system is a viable replacement for traditional fluorescent fixtures. During installation, this unit is mounted directly into the wall, with rear access to the internal components of the luminary. Voltage options include 120-277V AC or 11-25V AC/DC.

The HAL-RA-48-4L-LED is designed for integrated lighting requirements in paint spray booths and other hazardous locations. This 112-watt unit is made up of four, 4` LED tube-style fixtures (28 watts each), capable of emitting a total of 14,000 lumens (3,500 lumens per lamp). Operators can choose from the following color temperature options: 5,600K; 4,500K or 3,000K. For accurate color rendering, this LED lighting system supports a CRI rating of 80 and a flood beam configuration for maximum coverage over the target area.

The LED tubes inside this unit requires no ballast for operation. To increase safety during installation and routine maintenance, these lamps are wired for single sided power with an internal integrated LED driver housed within the tubes. The internal LED driver is a "smart" driver, sensing the incoming voltage and adjusting accordingly to provide the current required by the lamp. This allows operators to simply wire the fixture to voltage within the 120-277V range, no modifications required. This includes commonly found voltages such as 120V 60Hz, 220V 50Hz, 240V 60Hz and 277V 60Hz. We also offer a 11-25V AC/DC version for low voltage applications for AC or DC power. Low voltage fixtures require no modifications between 11-25V power sources, nor between alternating and direct current supply.

LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.

LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. Solid state LED lighting is also safer for the environment as LEDs are 100% recyclable. And recycling simultaneously reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for the expensive special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.

Durability/Mounting: The HAL-RA-48-4L-LED is constructed of aluminum with hardened borosilicate glass lenses. This NEMA-rated fixture is suitable for Class I, Division 1 & 2 and Class II, Division 1 & 2 industrial facilities. For protection against the ingress of water, the unit features an IP67 rating.

This paint spray booth LED lighting system is designed for recessed mounting configurations and requires a mounting hole to be made in booth panels capable of accomodating the fixture`s housing in order to provide the maximum amount of space in paint spray booth enclosures. Hub size options for completing connections to the unit includes 1/2" or 3/4".

Applications: Paint spray booths and enclosed spaces where flammable chemical/petrochemical vapors are present.

On this video I repaired a cracked muffler bracket and reinforced them on both sides. I go through the basic steps on prepping the surface and precautions to take prior to welding, finally I review the starting point welders chart on the inside of the welding machine door to get the initial weld close to where you need to be on the settings.

There are links to the welder I am using below, I have been using this welder for years at home and at the shop, It's a great garage tool to have and is a versatile enough machine to weld almost any at home and smaller commercial project.

There are also links to the welding gloves, auto dimming helmet, wire brush etc.

The Aptera three-wheeled electric car first broke cover more than a decade ago. Then it suffered the same fate as many startups at the time, with the firm declaring bankruptcy in 2011.

But now it's back - and on Friday last week it announced specifications and pricing for the newer, more efficient, more powerful reincarnation of the car that looks like it's from the future.

We look at the company's history, examine what's changed... and explain why Nikki just put herself on the waitlist to own one.

In this review we review an Engagdget article, written by Jon Fingas, where he discusses Honda's Level 3 semi-autonomous vehicles. We also describe levels 0-5. Self-driving cars are slowing taking over the roads. While the most famous semi-autonomous vehicle is manufactured by Tesla, numerous manufactures are emerging as definite competition.

Honda will release their Honda Legend (know as the Acura RLX in the United States) in late winter of 2021. It will feature the all-new TrafficJam Pilot advance driver-assist system (ADAS). This is slated to be superior to the General Motors Super Cruis and Tesla's Autopilot.

Rain stopped play for a while, but there was a break in the weather, so I think I have enough time to drain all the flood water out of the chassis, and then move this donor car into the garage ready to have the glass removed.

The engine from this donor car and other parts, are for my homemade Supercar. Although I have an interest in kit cars, including Lamborghini replicas, Ferrari replicas, McLaren P1 Replicas and other self-made kit car of other marques, like Porsche, Ford GT40 and the AC Cobra, I have always wanted to build my own unique brand, which I call the Cerberus VMR6.

Well, the plan was to remove the hand brake cables and then the fuel tank, but I had to change my plans. Looks like the fuel tank will have to stay put for a little while longer.

The transportation equipment industry, broadly defined, includes all manufacturers of road, rail, water, and air vehicles, making up the largest component of the US manufacturing sector, constituting 3% of value added in the economy in 2019 when including related industries such as steel and petroleum. It has declined from 6% of the economy in 1955, however, as American passenger car manufacturers were overtaken by the Japanese in the 1980s in units produced, with domestic production peaking in 1979 at 10 million and plunging to 2 million by 2019. Much of this decline has been replaced by foreign imports from overseas, as well as the outsourcing of parts and assembly plants to Mexico under NAFTA. The Big Three American automakers - GM, Ford, and Chrysler - now focus primarily on light truck manufacturing. Tonight, we discuss with an automotive insider how the industry got to where it is today, and how going forward the prospects for electrification and autonomous vehicles are set to change it.

PipeWire has recently been adopted by Automotive Grade Linux for its implementation of the low-level platform audio service, replacing entirely previous solutions. Getting there had, of course, many challenges. In this talk, George is going to talk about how PipeWire has managed to overcome these challenges and has evolved to support automotive use cases and hardware through the design and implementation of a new, reusable, session & policy management component, WirePlumber.

A quick look round a Sylva Spectre, taking approximately 60 seconds or so.

The Sylva J15 Riot or Spectre was originally designed to take a Yamaha R1 engine, and was called the Riot, and was later redesigned to take a Ford Zetec and called the Riot SE.

If you are the owner, or even if you know anything about this car, please feel free to drop a comment and offer up some details. I’d love to know more about it.
