https://www.larsonelectronics.com/product/268330/mobile-uv-disinfection-equipment-cabinet-120v-20-uvc-lamps-timer-25-cord-holds-28-bats

This unit is Made In USA - Manufactured in Texas

The Larson Electronics IND-TBL-BX-R12-24.18.60-M2-WC-25C-120V UV Disinfection Equipment Cabinet sanitizes baseball bats, sports equipment and tall devices quickly and simultaneously. Equipped with twenty UV lamps, the unit offers UV-C output at a range of 200nm - 280nm (253.7nm). The UV oven has highly visible indicator lights for safe operation and comes with an external timer. This disinfection cabinet contains four 8" casters at the bottom of the unit.

The IND-TBL-BX-R12-24.18.60-M2-WC-25C-120V is a powerful sanitation solution for cleaning baseball bats. Equipped with twenty UVC fluorescent lamps, this system offers UV output, within the 200nm - 280nm UV-C range (253.7 nm). The lights have an expected lifespan of 8,000+ hours and emit a flood beam pattern with 360 degrees of coverage. A stainless steel interior finish promotes UV light distribution. The lights take on the following configuration inside the UV cabinet: (4) 48" UV bulbs at the back side, (4) 24" UV bulbs on the left side, (4) 24" UV bulbs on the right side, (2) 24" UV bulbs at the top, (2) 24" UV bulbs on the bottom and (4) 18" UV bulbs on the back side of the doors.

This UV cabinet turns off automatically when the door is open. A yellow indicator light turns on when the unit is in use to safely notify the operator about ongoing sanitation. Adhering closely to exposure times at full capacity, multiple UV cabinets can be purchased to clean several bats at the same time. Operators may access an external timer on the cabinet to ensure the recommended duration of exposure is met every session. The UV light in this system can disinfect over 99% of bacteria and viruses, as well as kill 99% of viruses, bacteria, mold and spores.

Here's another Baseball video game for you fans in Canada, I haven't forgotten you guys, enjoy this 12 inning thriller. 😉

En français: Voici un autre jeu vidéo de baseball pour vous les fans au Canada, je ne vous ai pas oublié les gars, profitez de ce thriller de 12 manches. 😉

The rosters for the eight teams are fairly accurate if simplified representations of the playoff rosters from their respective years. Each team has 8 starting batters, four bench players, two starting pitchers and two relievers. The player can start any pitcher they like, though the relievers have very low stamina. But if they play consecutive games without resetting the system, any starting pitcher used in the previous game will be unavailable. The player has to wait until the game starts before substituting players with pinch hitters, who can play any position. Pinch runners are not implemented.

Unlike Major League Baseball, R.B.I. Baseball implements the mercy rule—if one team is ahead by ten or more runs after any number of completed innings, the game ends immediately.

Additionally, while the statistics shown on the screen for each player in the original game were reasonably accurate, their playing attributes were not always accurate. For example, George Brett was depicted in-game as a right-handed batter, while the real-life Brett batted left-handed. Also, all real-life switch hitters, such as Tim Raines, were depicted exclusively as left-handed batters.

Contrairement à la Major League Baseball, R.B.I.

(CNN)America's pastime is sending a loud message as it begins its condensed season: Black lives matter.

For decades, fans have claimed baseball often mirrors society and in 2020, that rings true -- and loudly.

(Photo by Alex Trautwig/MLB Photos via Getty Images)

Opening Day should normally bring fans, awakening from winter hibernation, to ballpark grandstands adorned with American flag bunting. Covid-19 means those major league ballparks are largely silent, save for the crack of a bat -- there are no fans in the stands.

But Major League Baseball, teams and players are also using this Opening Day to place Black Lives Matters center stage.

"BLM," accompanied by the MLB's logo, has been stamped onto the pitcher's mound of the World Series-defending Washington Nationals --and the Los Angeles Dodgers -- on Thursday night. That's the most prominently displayed ballpark location during a television broadcast.

On Friday morning, the Tampa Bay Rays sent a tweet, saying, "Today is Opening Day, which means it's a great day to arrest the killers of Breonna Taylor."

LYRICS:
Well shine my shoes and hold my balls
The sun is really gay
I'm legal now, there's new grass on my field

Got to first base now I'm headed home
It's a brown eyed handsome man
Anyone can understand the way I feel

Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
Look at me, I can be your centerfold

Well I spent some time with the Mudville Nine
Whacking off on a bench
You know I took some humps in the shower that night

So say hey Willy my willies' hard
And Joe with the magic hands
Say it ain't so you know you're mine tonight

Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
I can be... I can be your centerfold

I got a brand new dildo and leather gloves
And brand new crotchless chaps
Ya know I think it's time I give this team a ride

So hit my balls and touch them all
A moment for erotic fun
Well it's over now, you can tell those men goodbye

Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
Put it in me coach
I'm ready to be gay, today
Look at me, I can be your centerfold

Hello there all, I figured that we could use some Baseball games to life our spirits from COVID-19. Please, enjoy this video game here today.

R.B.I. Baseball is a baseball video game series. R.B.I. is an initialism for "run batted in". Initially launched in 1987, the series initially ran through 1995. In 2014, the series was rebooted as a competitor to MLB: The Show, with releases each year since.

Today's, it's Inter-league play between the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox (Home).

Sign stealing has left Pro Baseball in another problematic scandal that has caused damage to the league. Whether it's stealing signs, using cocaine and other stimulants, taking steroids, or even fixing games, all players, coaches, managers, referees and umpires have a part in keeping the game legitimate. At this point however, it appears that may be impossible. All pro sports leagues appear to have participants who want to get an extra edge on their opponents in many different ways, or they are just in it for the money. As long as there is a game to play, someone will try to cheat at it.

In this video I go over another applied project, and this time take a look at the Calculus of the sport of Baseball, and go over Question 1. It may surprise you but there is a lot of advanced physics and calculus behind some of the aspects of baseball. Question 1 illustrates the concept of momentum, which is simply the mass multiplied by the velocity of a moving object. The difference in momentum is also known as the Impulse of the force over a time interval, and in this video I show that it is equal to the integration of the force over that time interval. Using this fact, we can then determine the average force on a bat as it swings and collides with a baseball, which is only in contact with the bat for a thousandth of a second! This is a great video to understand some of the physics involved in Baseball, namely the collision of the ball with the bat, so make sure to watch this video and stay tuned for more videos on this Applied Project!

In this video I look at Question 3 part A of the Applied Project: Calculus and Baseball. This question takes a look at the dynamics of an outfielder fielding a ball and throwing it to the catcher at home plate, something that occurs often in baseball. Part A looks at the time it takes for the ball to reach home plate if the outfielder throws it directly to the home plate, while Parts B and C compare this time with that if the outfielder threw it to an infielder first and then to the catcher, assuming the infielder has a faster throw. This is actually a decision that baseball team managers take into consideration, which makes this question a great application of baseball.

In Part A, I use a differential equation modeling the ball's velocity with respect to time, and assuming constant air resistance, and clocking the time it takes for the ball to reach 280 feet. This is a very interesting video on the physics of baseball so make sure to watch it and stay tuned for Parts B and C!

In this video I go over part B of Question 3 of the Applied Project: Calculus and Baseball. In part A I looked at the time it takes for an outfielder to field a ball and throw it directly to the catcher at home plate. In part B however, I look at whether it is faster or slower for the outfielder to throw the ball to the shortstop instead, and then have him throw it to catcher, assuming that the shortstop can throw faster than the outfielder. As this video will show, the time depends on how fast the shortstop can throw. In the example of the shortstop throwing at 105 ft/s, a direct throw is faster, but at 115 ft/s it is better to relay the ball to the shortstop first.

This is a very extensive and detailed video on analyzing both where the shortstop should be relative to the home plate to minimize the time it takes for the ball to get to the catcher, as well as determining at various speeds if it is better to relay or throw directly to the catcher. In minimizing the time, the first derivative test was also utilized. This may be a long video but it is definitely worth watching to understand just how complex the mathematics are behind even the most basic aspects of baseball. But since often times the difference between an out or a run is just fractions of a second, it is important for baseball managers to utilize mathematics in helping get any competitive edge they can!

In this video I go over Question 3 Part C of the Applied Project: Calculus and Baseball. In Part C I derive the velocity in which the shortstop needs to throw in order to make the total time relayed from the outfielder to the shortstop and finally to the catcher at home plate, to be equal to the time it takes for a direct throw from the outfielder to the back catcher. In determining this, I use the formulas derived from Question 3A and 3B for the total relay time as a function of the distance of the shortstop to the home plate. I also use the distance that minimizes the relay time, which was also derived from Question 3B. The result from this part gives a pretty complex equation that is difficult to solve for the velocity of the shortstop explicitly, so I resort to approximating it graphically by graphing out the relay time and zooming it at the point in which it is equal to the direct throw time from Question 3A.

This is a pretty interesting video and conclusion to this Applied Project and is a great way to learn just how much math and physics goes into the sport of baseball. So make sure to watch this video especially if you are a baseball fan!

DURATION: -- Glad to see the Toronto Blue Jays (http://bluejays.com) back to their winning ways.

AS OF THIS VLOG: a 4-3 record, 1.5 games behind AL East-leading Boston. It took the Jays 17-games last year to reach 4 wins, so it's clearly an improvement!

Toronto is such a consummate sports city and the entire timbre and tone of this city changes when all of sport franchises are firing off on all cylinders, Leafs, Raptors, and Jays.

May the good baseball vibes continue!

Thanking you again for your support!

In this video I go over an interesting question regarding the baseball pitching speed and if the pitching mound adds to the ball velocity. This was a question forwarded to me on Twitter, and thus I look to get to the bottom of it. The pitcher’s mound is a circular hill located inside a baseball field, and has a rectangle rubber plate where the picture must start his pitching momentum from. According to the official Major League Baseball (MLB) regulations, the distance from the front of the plat to the rear point of the home plate is exactly 60 feet 6 inches (about 18.44 m). The mound height measured to the top of the rubber plate has a maximum limit of 10 inches. This max height was lowered on 1969 from 15 inches (and sometimes higher to 20 inches) because the pitching had become very dominant. This is because the mound height gives a higher downwards velocity and thus makes it harder for the batter to hit the ball squarely.

To understand how the velocity of the ball changes, it is first important to understand just how the ball speed is measured. The MLB uses a Radar measurement technique, which involves a Radar Gun that shoots electromagnetic radio waves (at the speed of light) towards the ball and measure the resulting waves that bounce back. Due to what is known as the Doppler Effect, the frequency of the waves that bounce back from the ball depend on the speed the ball is traveling. The higher the frequency, the faster the ball speed. While this is a good way to measure ball speed, it is difficult to indicate whether the velocity measured is the horizontal or absolute ball speed. But as I show later in this video, the theoretical differences in horizontal and absolute speeds are negligible for a typical baseball pitch.

Going over some baseball physics, trigonometry, and calculus, while simplifying some of the many unknowns such as pitcher height, air resistance, etc., I am able to obtain some basic formulas for the speed of the ball upon release and just as it reaches the home plate. Throwing all these into a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet that I made, we can see how the speeds differ for different mound heights. The calculations show that the horizontal and absolute speeds are very similar at any mound height, and thus it is expected that the Radar Gun readings should remain the same; assuming pitching mechanics and human physiology is negligible for this slight downwards angle. Nonetheless what is significant is the downwards velocity as the mound increases. It appears that for every 10 inches in mound height, we expect roughly 1.6 miles per hour (mph) downwards velocity increase! Given that the major leagues is a game of inches, the mound height gives the pitcher a big advantage as it makes the batter worry not only about balls coming towards himself fast, but that it is moving downwards fast as well. This helps explain why 1968, the year before the mound heights were decreased, is known as “The Year of the Pitcher”!

This is a very interesting example on applying mathematics to the world of sports, of which Baseball is all about the numbers, so let me know what you think, and play around with the Excel sheet that made to see what cool statistics you can find!
