Each year for Christmas, Short's Brewing creates a Very Hoppy Christmas beer pack. Many people find fulfillment in beer by drinking dark bourbon barrel aged beers, while others seek the enjoyment of the hops. Taken from the 2019 version of a Very Hoppy Christmas, the $plurge is an eruption of hop variants upon the tongue and taste buds. Your palate will be dancing wit the flavors of this very hoppy beer. Feel the fulfillment.

Here is the description of the $plurge taken the Short's Brewing website:
$plurge is a Double IPA made with a lavish blend seven varieties of hops. Slightly hazy and light copper in color, the frothy white head has huge aromas of tropical hops. Leading with super fruity citrus and pineapple flavors, this medium-bodied beer is deceivingly smooth for the higher ABV. Treat yourself to this indulgent, tropical hoppy brew!

For 30 years, Samuel Smith's Brewery has made a Winter Welcome Ale. It is seasonal and arrives on store shelves in early November. The days are short and the long nights are cold, but the Samuel Smith Winter Welcome Ale helps warm the heart and soul.

Celebrate the 30th Anniversary edition of the Winter Welcome Ale for 2019-2020. Let the sweetness swirl about your tongue and revel in the late bitterness as it arrives. Sing to the New Year!

Belgian-style Tripel ale has delicate flavors and is aromatic. Victory Brewing's Golden Monkey is one that is quite close to style, even when being reviewed by a baboon. Listen to Bryon Lape's review and comment on why he is wrong.

A nice kolsch from a local brewery. Running 4.3 ABV and 19 IBU the SRM is 4 due to its golden color. A nice full bodied Kolsch w a medium burn thru the middle and a dry if somewhat dirty finish. Laces nicely and is a solid choice for a warm afternoons adult beverage. While I didn't get the hints of pear and apple or lemon I do have a barbarians palate so...

What was once the Original "Light" Beer has since been shit canned due GMO content. They ruined a perfect hot weather summer time brew. 4.5 ABV and negligible IBUs this was just a solid easy drinker.

Yeah I forgot to rate the beer in the vid, like I said its a Murphy day.
Light clean crisp and thin. Its a decent lager and not horrible for a light if that is what they were going for. Better than the Big 10 lights.

Fast fading, crisp and clean but way too light for my barbarian palate.
4.5 ABV and less than 10 IBU this is the sour equivalent of a standard big 10 light beer .

Saint Archer Golden Light Ale.
Welcome to the "lite" craft beer following in the foot prints of Amstel light.
This is quite literally the up market version of the "Big 10" light beers. The flavor profile is non extant . The company was purchased back in 2015 by Millercoors and so joins the list of beers I won't be drinking anymore.

The swiss army knife of beers . This a good solid if somewhat light in the palate beverage. 4.7 ABV and negligible hops it a fine all around work a day beer. Billed as a golden'blonde hybrid it's a good choice anytime.

8.9 ABV and 26 IBU this drinks smoother than you'd expect w the high ETOH count. Slightly sweet and malty this is still a good solid porter. Well balanced and clean w/o an overly heavy alcohol tang. Not Pima approved, she just wanted some camera time.

Not really in my wheelhouse as I'm not a fan of hoppy beers and this boast 7 varieties of hops. I'm not one of those " I taste hints of huckleberries and alphalt" people. It has a decent head and lingering flavor w a solid hop punch. Other than that it doesn't really stand out among the IPAs I've had in the past. Not gonna be the 1st beer I order unless its post apocalypse miller time.

An decent malty brown ale that fades fast fast w no after taste. Drinkable but not memorable. I would order this if it was on tap over a lot of others but it wouldn't be my go to for a 6 course vegan dinner

One of my absolute favorites. They did this beer right. Smooth and creamy with a nice mix of chocolate and vanilla flavors. No bitterness or coffee flavors to be found here.

Sierra Nevada BFD(Beer For Drinking) Blonde Ale isn't the BFD the acronym implies.
Hoppy and hard hitting. Not a very tasty beer IMHO . Small batch or seasonal It doesnt say which but not a regular item and thats okay w me. If your a fan of hoppy beers this isnt bad and certainly isnt as horrible as the 50 IBU and above stuff out there.
3.25/5
