The Maxsisun MF-2000 is a nice mid-size quantum board style grow light. It has great components with Samsung LM 281b+ diodes and a Mean Well Driver. It also features a remote control dimmer, thick heat sink, and a reflector.

The seed I started less than 36 hours ago has sprouted and is already looking nice and healthy. This is a record in germination time for me. I do think that cracking the seeds, like I do with sunflowers now, helps significantly. Additionally, it looks like dark water or light water does not seem to matter. This was kept under the lights with its siblings and the avocados, and still sprouted fine.

Well, X-2021-00 and X-2021-01 have matured nicely and are actually ready for planting. Looks like they are from the Ravenplume Wildling 2019-A line instead of B (B plant leaves would be narrower and a darker shade of green). Now hopefully I end up with a brother/sister pair, so I can move to the next phase in my mad science. If both are female, one will get potted and the other will be put in the enclosure with Pixie Pie to grow out normally. If two males, then one gets potted and the other rehomed, since I do know a few others who will happily take one in.
X2021-02 did not make it, and its cup will be reused for the upcoming (I hope) X-2021-04, which has just been cracked and put in a germination cup. This time, I am seeing if it will germinate under the same lighting conditions as its siblings instead of being kept in the dark. Finally, X-2021-03 is surviving, but is still a seedling at 4 weeks old.

Because a lobster pound owner and stoner in Maine did some “research” and found that lobsters have cannabinoid receptors, she has been getting her lobsters stoned before cooking them under the belief it is more humane and dulls their pain. Scientists, a term I am using loosely here, decided to follow up on this belief of hers and test it. In doing so, they baked boxed Maine lobsters and then proceeded to throw them in 118 deg F water and see if it dulls their pain, torturing them in the name of science.

Washington state’s Liquor and Cannabis Board is permitting legal marijuana retailers to offer free joints to those who’ve taken at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, as states scramble for creative ways to promote the vaccine.
“In an effort to support Covid-19 vaccinations, the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) today announced that it would provide a temporary allowance to state licensed cannabis retailers to provide one joint to adult consumers who receive a vaccination at an in-store vaccination clinic,” the agency said in a Monday press release, dubbing the program “Joints for Jabs.”

Well, it was far under 12 hours since I made my last video, in which I showed X2021-01 getting planted. At the time, neither of the remaining two seeds had shown any signs of life. Now, the one that was started with X2021-01 is indeed showing a tiny start of a tap root, enough to warrant the declaration of X2021-02. It will remain in the water until it has grown out considerably more. I suspect this one is going to be slow to grow initially, and will be in water for a decently long amount of time before it is ready for planting.

Only two days since the replacement seeds were put in water, and one has already sprouted. So looks like I already have an X2021-01 now. I am going to give it a few days for the tap root to grow out a bit more before planting in a cup of dirt. Will revisit on Monday.
Meanwhile, it doesn't look like I had anything to worry about with X2021-00 slipping out of its shell in the water. Now planted, it is surviving, though currently, mostly just stretching and chasing the light. No roots have formed yet of course.

Alright, back on the 8th of May, one of the two seeds sent to the germinating cup sprouted. The other has not, and still hasn't at the time I am actually uploading this: 2020-05-12.
Then a couple days ago, I noticed that the one that sprouted also managed to slip out of its shell and has been laying in the bottom of the cup. Though doubtful about whether or not it was salvageable, I went ahead and planted it in a cup of dirt and put it under the light that the avocados and some of the sun flowers are sharing. We will see how it goes (update actually coming shortly after this).
Although I doubt the other is going to sprout, I am keeping it in water for a while longer. I am also starting another two in continuation of this experiment.
And as of now, the one that germinated is now known as Ravenplume Wildling 2019-02 (RPW2019-02) and also Experiment 2021-00 (X2021-00)
So thus far, X2021-00 went from the initial drop into the water on 30-APR to sprouted on 08-MAY, 1 week from start to tap root; not bad, I suppose.
That is it for now. Since it is a day after this one was made, I will be making another update tonight.

Decarboxylation happens very slowly when cannabis is cured, but we can use an oven to speed up and complete the process. Decarbing your cannabis allows you to convert the THCA found in your dried buds and trim to THC. This will allow your edibles and tinctures to be more potent and take effect more quickly. Decarbing most often occurs when cannabis is smoked, so this process doesn't have an opportunity to occur when making butters, oils and tinctures - you have to do it beforehand!

Here is the start of my first actual wacky weed grow journal for 2021. I mean, I still have the Bitter Sweet Pie plant made from a cutting my neighbor gave me last year hanging in there about ready for planting outside in another 2 or 3 weeks, but I wanted to go ahead and get a couple Ravenplume Wildling 2019 seeds germinating in hopes of being able to use them for figuring out cuttings and sexing (before flowering). Ultimately, I am hoping for these to end up being full fledged siblings, brother and sister, so I can finally have my first baseline strain. Thing is, the 2019 Wildlings have 2 different Tardis mother plants and the same Sour Banana Sherbert Father plant. I just do not know which will be which until they start maturing. So for breeding, they have to be both A plants or both B plants. If I manage that, they will be kept as mother and father plants from which I will make cuttings, while these two remain house plants. If they are both female A or both female B, one will get planted outside and grow up as normal, the other will be the perma mother plant for that line. If they are both Male A or both Male B, then one becomes a house plant, and I rehome the other. If I end up with a single A and a single B, same sex, they both get to be house plants until a full sibling comes along. Meh, sounds like it is getting complicated as I try to explain, so I will stop for now.
