A second set of stimulus checks could be in the works for millions of Americans, based on Congress’ ongoing negotiations for more coronavirus relief legislation.
But a fight is brewing over the amount that will be written on those checks.
Currently, those talks point to new direct payments to Americans of $600 per individual and $600 per child. In contrast, the first stimulus checks sent earlier this year were for $1,200 per adult and $500 per child under 17.
Now, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., plans to go on the Senate floor on Friday to try to push for those checks to be increased to $1,200 per individual and $2,400 for married couples who file jointly.
“Tomorrow I will go to the Senate floor to ask for an up or down vote on my bill to provide a direct payment of $1,200 to working Americans, $2,400 for couples, $500 for kids,” Hawley tweeted on Thursday. “This is the Covid relief working families need.”
Last week, Hawley introduced the bill for second $1,200 direct payments to Americans. At the time, he said he intended to ask for an up or down vote on the proposal if needed.
Hawley has also teamed up with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to come up with an amendment for $1,200 checks that could be included in the legislation Washington lawmakers are working on.
This week, Sanders has also reaffirmed his commitment to sending $1,200 stimulus checks that are similar to the payments made through the CARES Act.
“Congress can’t go home for the Christmas holidays until we pass legislation which provides a $1,200 direct payment to working class adults, $2,400 for couples and $500 for kids,” Sanders tweeted on Tuesday.
Like the first checks issued through the CARES Act, full payments would go to individuals who earn under $75,000 and couples earning less than $150,000, according to Sanders’ plan.

Congressional lawmakers want to include a second round of stimulus checks in the next coronavirus bill.
The size of the payments is still subject to change, but could be similar to the terms of the $1,200 payments sent in the first batch.
This time, some Americans should receive their payments quicker. But questions linger for those who are still waiting for their first checks.
Congress won’t move on the next round of stimulus legislation this week.
Despite that, however, a second set of stimulus checks is still on the table.
Draft legislation released by Senate Republicans states, “These will be included, but the amount of the payment and eligibility are TBA [to be announced].”
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said this week that the size and scope of the payments will likely be the same as the first round. That is subject to change as negotiations with Democrats ensue.
Those checks were up to $1,200 per individual or $2,400 per married couple, plus $500 for dependents under 17.

In this video I read an article that debunks the typical BS socialist talking points, they always like to talk about how bad things are here, how much worse off we are when compared to other countries and then manipulate their followers by reporting inaccurate info.
It disgusts me to see people lie like they do and I point out an example of this in my video, it disgusts me because they lie and people fall for it.
If you want to have some discussion about the shortfalls of our government then we can have that discussion every day of the week, for sure....I know there are many, however, don't try to sit up here and lie to me about how much better off these other countries are, just to push your BS socialist agenda in an attempt at a power grab.
All I am saying, is, when you hear something, make sure to do your own legwork to make sure if it is entirely factual, in part factual or outright BS.

Stimulus 'checks' were supposed to hit bank account by Friday, April 17th, that would be the earliest date for this individuals who filed a return of their 2018 or 2019 taxes. That is for individuals who had to file but those who did file and get social security benefits, they have to wait a week longer.
In a bit of good news, the IRS has now said that direct deposits will start hitting bank accounts early this coming week, perhaps as early as Monday (the 15th) or Tuesday (the 16th).
For individuals that get any kind of social security benefits, it seems like you still will have to wait an extra week to get your deposit, so, starting the week of the 22nd.
For those who haven't filed, the IRS is going to open a portal that will allow you to enter you information in so that you can get your deposit sooner, rather than waiting for a physical check.
Is it just me but have any of you noticed that things have become more expensive over the past week or two, things I normally buy are now a couple bucks more, I'm talking about things that were $3, that are now $4, things that were $10 are now $12, just a couple observations, anyone else noticing the same thing?

There are so many “Bike Check” videos out there that fall into two categories. Some dude with a handheld gopro and no plan, or a bike magazine’s “review video”. I am trying to bridge the gap between those worlds by doing in depth reviews with a plan. Basically I am a Dude with a bunch of camera’s and a Plan. The concept is simple; Showcase the bike with real world riders, discuss the technical aspects of the bike, then talk about how they feel about the bike. This is going to be regular guys, on the bikes that they love, talking about the way they ride.
In this episode we face the fact that I could not convince anyone to waste four hours filming so I was forced to interview myself… the truth is I wanted to show my friends what a full feature episode would be like. I am not sure that they will all be this long or as in depth. We’ll let that aspect of the show evolve in time.
