Nikolai Andreevich Roslavets (Russian: Никола́й Андре́евич Ро́славец; 4 January 1881 [O.S. 23 December 1880] in Surazh,[1] Chernigov Governorate, Russian Empire – 23 August 1944 in Moscow) was a significant Ukrainian modernist composer of Belorussian and Ukrainian origin. Roslavets was a convinced modernist and cosmopolitan thinker; his music was officially suppressed from 1930 onwards.
Much of the music in the second half of this piece was written in the late 80s, early 90s while I was in various bands. The accapella was written as a melody to an Afghan Sufi poem around 2000, which I put new lyrics to last year. The first parts were written mostly in Portugal around 2015. The Russian-sounding ballad was written just before I recorded this in the late summer of 2022. There is a short prelude to this which I may record sometime.
In some ways this is the most satisfying thing I've ever written. It's unashamedly epic in scope, uses up lots of material that's been hanging around for ages looking for a song to be part of, and it's quite groundbreaking really, at least for folk music.
If anyone ever performs this in the future it must be a solo performance, guitar and singing. And on a maple/spruce guitar. However, in the Russian ballad part the second and fourth verses are intended for a female vocal, which would be OK. The flamenco part and maybe the sitary part are also begging for a pakhawaj accompaniment and can be extended indefinitely with an Indian classical female vocal using these ragas:

BEHIND THE MUSIC:
Music is a gift from God and should always be used to glorify Him. He blesses us with many things like food, water, & shelter. He also has given us ears to hear good music & sight to watch YouTube videos, read music, etc. However, we don't glorify Him. Most people see themselves as "good," but the Bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory God." (Romans 3:23) Why? What is sin? Sin is the breaking of God's Laws (1 John 3:4): the Ten Commandments. Let's look at just a few of the Commandments to see how you are doing: How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything (regardless of the value)? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Have you ever used God's name in vain (as a cuss word, or an exclamation)? This is blasphemy and it is very serious in His sight. Think about it. Who else's name has been used as a cuss word?
God, the righteous Judge of the entire universe, will judge those who break His law, and the penalty is an eternity in hell, His prison. However, the Good News (i.e. the Gospel) is that God wants to show mercy to us lawbreakers. God came to earth, wrapped Himself in flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, was tempted in all ways yet was without sin, and died on the cross to pay our penalty. You and I broke God's law, Jesus paid our fine, and He rose on the third day to show that He is God.
Now God commands everyone, everywhere to repent, turn from our sins and turn to Him and trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. He will give you a new heart and place His Spirit within you and when you died, He will bring you into Heaven to be with Him for eternity.

Dame Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, in full Dame Olga Maria Elisabeth Friederike Schwarzkopf, (born Dec. 9, 1915, Jarotschin, near Posen, Ger. [now Poznań, Pol.]—died Aug. 3, 2006, Schruns, Austria), German soprano who performed in the major opera houses of the Western world and is remembered especially for her mastery of German songs known as lieder.
Schwarzkopf studied at the Berlin High School for Music from 1934, winning various prizes. She also studied at Leicester in England, under a League of Nations scholarship. Her first appearance on the stage was as a flower maiden in Parsifal at the Berlin State Opera (1938), where she was soon singing a variety of roles. She captured the attention of Maria Ivogün, a Hungarian soprano, who taught her lieder singing. Schwarzkopf made her debut as a recitalist in Berlin in 1942. During World War II she joined the National Socialist Party, and her membership later generated much controversy. Although she claimed to have become a member in order to continue performing, some suggested she had greater involvement.

At the request of Austrian conductor Karl Böhm, Schwarzkopf joined the Vienna State Opera, serving as its principal coloratura soprano from 1944 to 1950. In 1947 she made her debut at Covent Garden in London and became a frequent performer there. She also had long associations with La Scala in Milan (1949–63) and the Salzburg Festival (1949–64). Her voice was powerful yet flexible and had a warm tone that, together with her interpretive talents, made her a successful singer of such diverse roles as Mimi (La Bohème), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), and Madame Butterfly.
She created the role of Anne Trulove in Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress (1951). She is especially associated with the roles of Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, which she first portrayed in 1941, and the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier. Schwarzkopf sang lieder in her American debut in New York City in October 1953, and thereafter she toured for a year in the United States.
In October 1955 she began singing opera in the United States with the San Francisco Opera Company, premiering as the Marschallin. Nine years later she appeared for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City in the same role and sang with the Metropolitan for two seasons. In 1971 Schwarzkopf appeared as the Marschallin in her last operatic performance. Four years later she made a farewell recital tour in the United States and retired in 1979.
In 1953 Schwarzkopf married Walter Legge, artistic director for a recording company and a founder of the London Philharmonic. Working with her husband, she recorded the major Mozart operas, Richard Strauss’s songs, and works by J.S. Bach etc

Dëzmyra stands on the cliff of the mossy paw and looks down on the fallow slope. They'll have to go around and down the slope to get back to Windurlyn City. The slope is steep and full of jagged rocks. A party member slips and tumbles down toward the bottom. Dëzmyra uses her light sword to create a light bridge for her to grab on to and bring back to the party. After reaching the base of the slope they seek rest at the house of the crystal mushroom. It is said that a powerful general lives here.
