Newly released bodycam footage is providing the first look at a shootout between two alleged armed men and police in a Bronx gun battle that ended with one man dead and two others hurt, including a bystander.
What was supposed to be a routine traffic stop for the three officers on April 3 ended up being anything but, video released by the NYPD Monday shows. Police said everything started after two suspects were seen on surveillance footage chasing and shooting down a rival, Gabriel Casso, at the corner of Findlay and East 166th Street in Concourse Village.
Casso died at the scene. The officers were in the middle of conducting a traffic stop less than a block away heard the shots, then chased suspects Kejuan Dehaney and Hassan Maxwell down the street.
The officers reported the duo fired shots at them, and two of the officers returned fire. Police said Dehaney was shot twice in the arm. A 66-year-old bystander was also shot and survived. Police have not clarified if that man was struck by the suspects or the officers, however.
A different group of NYPD officers captured the fleeing suspects about a block away from the initial shooting scene. The shooting incident is still under investigation.
Police released the footage under a rule passed in 2020 requiring the NYPD make public all body camera footage involving shootings and use of force resulting in injury or death. The NYPD said the benefits include transparency and increasing trust between police and the community.

The US video version was directed by John Jopson and it is based on Play Misty for Me, with Davies hosting a late night radio show, and taking a request from a fan, (the actress Paris Jefferson), who asks "mind if I wake you tonight?". Davies misinterprets this as the request, but the caller goes on to say "play 'Crazy' for me?". The rest of the video shows Icehouse singing and playing instruments in a large mansion. The final scene shows Davies meeting the caller, who has posters of Icehouse and Iva Davies plastered all over her wall. Davies gives a short uneasy smile, before leaving the house.
Icehouse is a rock band from Sydney, formed in 1977. Initially known in Australia for their pub-rock style, the band later achieved mainstream success playing new-wave and synthpop music and attained Top 10 singles chart success locally and in both Europe and the U.S.[1] The mainstay of both Flowers and Icehouse has been Iva Davies (singer-songwriter, record producer, guitar, bass, keyboards, oboe)[2] supplying additional musicians as required. The name "Icehouse", adopted in 1981, comes from an old, cold flat Davies lived in and the strange building across the road populated by itinerant people.[3]
Davies and Icehouse extended the use of synthesizers particularly the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 ("Love in Motion", 1981), Linn drum machine ("Hey Little Girl", 1982) and Fairlight CMI (Razorback trailer, 1983) in Australian popular music. Their best-known singles on the Australian charts included "Great Southern Land", "Hey Little Girl", "Crazy", "Electric Blue" and "My Obsession"; with Top Three albums being Icehouse (1980, as Flowers), Primitive Man (1982) and Man of Colours (1987).
Icehouse was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame on 16 August 2006. ARIA described Icehouse as "one of the most successful Australian bands of the eighties and nineties... Universities are producing thousands of psychological studies every year. The subjects of these studies are almost always freshmen students required to participate in the study in order to receive credit in a basic psychology class. There are many other confounding elements that make many of these studies near useless. But if they have a title that produces a click bait headline, media outlets pick them up.
"Big University Study Says" followed by a headline is the clickbait. The pattern is university to media to the public. I think this chain of misinformation is pervasive. I plan to expose these false or misleading conclusions with entertaining and humorous videos.. We can have some fun with fake news and refine our critical thinking at the same time.

Breathing is one of the most important physiological functions to sustain life and health. Human body requires a continuous and adequate oxygen (O2) supply to all organs and cells for normal function and survival. Breathing is also an essential process for removing metabolic byproducts [carbon dioxide (CO2)] occurring during cell respiration [12], [13]. It is well established that acute significant deficit in O2 (hypoxemia) and increased levels of CO2 (hypercapnia) even for few minutes can be severely harmful and lethal, while chronic hypoxemia and hypercapnia cause health deterioration, exacerbation of existing conditions, morbidity and ultimately mortality [11], [20], [21], [22]. Emergency medicine demonstrates that 5–6 min of severe hypoxemia during cardiac arrest will cause brain death with extremely poor survival rates [20], [21], [22], [23]. On the other hand, chronic mild or moderate hypoxemia and hypercapnia such as from wearing facemasks resulting in shifting to higher contribution of anaerobic energy metabolism, decrease in pH levels and increase in cells and blood acidity, toxicity, oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, immunosuppression and health deterioration.
Efficacy of facemasks
The physical properties of medical and non-medical facemasks suggest that facemasks are ineffective to block viral particles due to their difference in scales [16], [17], [25]. According to the current knowledge, the virus SARS-CoV-2 has a diameter of 60 nm to 140 nm [nanometers (billionth of a meter)] [16], [17], while medical and non-medical facemasks’ thread diameter ranges from 55 µm to 440 µm [micrometers (one millionth of a meter), which is more than 1000 times larger [25]. Due to the difference in sizes between SARS-CoV-2 diameter and facemasks thread diameter (the virus is 1000 times smaller), SARS-CoV-2 can easily pass through any facemask [25]. In addition, the efficiency filtration rate of facemasks is poor, ranging from 0.7% in non-surgical, cotton-gauze woven mask to 26% in cotton sweeter material [2]. With respect to surgical and N95 medical facemasks, the efficiency filtration rate falls to 15% and 58%, respectively when even small gap between the mask and the face exists
The results of this study showed that among symptomatic individuals (those with fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose ect…) there was no difference between wearing and not wearing facemask for coronavirus droplets transmission of particles of >5 µm.
